Led by the little insect, Sein explored more than eighty percent of the Insectoid base.
Even in the middle of an interplanar war, he actually had the leisure to do something like this. The more Sein thought about it, the more unbelievable it felt.
When they finally reached the breeding chamber, Sein found himself staring at a mountain of white insect eggs.
The little insect stepped forward, tapped one of the palm-sized living eggs, then picked it up and handed it to Sein.
The Insectoids had their own unique method of communication. Through telepathy or bloodline resonance, they could instantly coordinate combat deployments with one another.
During its limited communication with Sein, the little insect used mental focus.
As a result, Sein was able to identify the palm-sized living egg before him as a Swiftling egg.
He could not help but look up toward the deepest parts of the breeding chamber, where countless giant eggs were embedded in the walls.
Some of them were more than ten meters in diameter.
Even dragon eggs were probably only about this large, right?
Sein knew those giant eggs were Thunder Beast eggs.
He was feeling rather greedy. Aside from the Swiftling egg in his hand, he also wanted eggs from the other Insectoid species.
Ideally, he wanted one of every kind for research.
This was the collecting and research instinct unique to mages at work.
However, seeing that the little insect before him made no further move, Sein suppressed his desire and simply accepted the Swiftling egg it had offered him.
Mages believed in the principle of equivalent exchange.
Since the Insectoids had treated Sein so well, and even presented him with a gift at the end, he naturally had to offer something in return.
Sein retrieved several vials of body-tempering potions and restorative potions from his spatial storage.
The little insect, which clearly possessed remarkable intelligence, stared curiously at the potions Sein handed over. It tapped them lightly with its tentacles before finally accepting them.
And with that, Sein’s up-close exploration of the Insectoid base came to an end.
After waving goodbye to the little insect and departing, Sein knew that as long as the war in Divine Descendants World continued, he would inevitably have more dealings with these creatures.

By the time Sein returned inside the planetary-class fortress robot, the war on Buros Plane was already nearing its end.
After the two overlord-level venerables from Myriad Manifestations World broke through the encirclement and retreated to Divine Descendants World, the remaining law-wielding wanderers lost much of their will to keep fighting.
The collapse of the enemy’s lower-tier legions came far sooner than expected. This was the direct consequence of overwhelming superiority in high-level combat power.
Had the overlord-level beings involved in the conflict been evenly matched, with fresh legions constantly reinforcing both sides, it would not have been strange for the war on Buros Plane to drag on for a hundred or even two hundred years.
In the end, however, the war on this low-level plane lasted only five years.
“Master Sein, these are the reports on our legions’ war spoils and overall expenditures over the past few years. Also, the αI-type titanium-chromium alloy you mentioned last time was delivered by the Arriba Chamber of Commerce about two weeks ago. It is just waiting for your inspection.”
Inside the main control room of the fortress robot, the God of Dusk Desire appeared before Sein and spoke with great respect.
This foreign god, whom Sein had recruited near Myriad Springs World, had been exceptionally deferential ever since Sein brought him to Divine Descendants World.
Sein suspected that this was not simply due to awe of his own strength. It likely stemmed from the God of Dusk Desire’s profound reverence for the entire Magus Civilization behind him.
This was a clever foreign god.
Sein glanced over the inventory list the God of Dusk Desire handed him. Most of the materials listed would be used for the Magic Cube’s “troop production”.
In addition, Sein had several experiments of his own that required a large quantity of new materials.
At first, Sein had been worried that the sudden appearance of Myriad Manifestations World’s legions would place enormous pressure on their logistics and resource supply lines.
Unexpectedly, the final outcome showed no impact at all. He was not sure whether he should praise the Arriba Chamber of Commerce for its efficiency, or the Insectoid legions for arriving just in time.
After reviewing the list in his hand, Sein looked at the God of Dusk Desire, who stood before him with his head lowered in deference.
“Although you’re not skilled in combat, you’re quite good in business and logistics management. I remember that you were originally involved in interstellar trade, correct?”
“Yes, esteemed Master Sein,” the God of Dusk Desire replied respectfully.
“Do your best then. In the coming war, there shouldn’t be much need for you to go to the frontlines yourself. You’ll mainly oversee the deployment and resource coordination of the legions under our command.”
“I’ll grant you authority over the war supplies captured by our legions. You may negotiate trades with the Dawn Empire, the Arriba Chamber of Commerce, or the Insectoids. If you can maximize our profits, I’ll even grant you a commission proportional to your contribution,” he said with a smile.
Sein’s words instantly left the God of Dusk Desire feeling both flattered and overwhelmed.
He still remembered their first encounter years ago. Back then, Sein had only been accompanied by Fermera and Tourmaline, yet he had still nearly killed him.
In the end, the God of Dusk Desire had been forced to pay a hefty ransom just to save his own life.
Even so, he had still failed to escape Sein’s control.
The God of Dusk Desire was extremely pragmatic, and his thinking was far more flexible. When it came to dealing with others and conducting business, his abilities surpassed even those of the Rank Five God of Black Mist.
The God of Black Mist was a capable fighter, and Sein had no immediate plans to reassign him elsewhere.
Therefore, certain responsibilities had to fall to the God of Dusk Desire.
After immediately delivering a passionate speech expressing his loyalty and gratitude to Sein, the God of Dusk Desire finally asked hesitantly, “Trading with those Insectoids...? Will they actually make contact with us?”
The timid and relatively weak God of Dusk Desire clearly did not have a favorable impression of the ferocious Insectoids that had arrived on this planar battlefield.
The main reason was that the Insectoids operated like a closed system, showing almost no intention of interacting with other species.
Sein glanced at the God of Dusk Desire and said, “They will. You’ll know once you try.”
Since his boss had spoken, the God of Dusk Desire had no choice but to grit his teeth and accept his assignments.
As the God of Dusk Desire was taking his leave, Sein suddenly said, “When we return to the Magus Civilization, I’ll introduce you to a Goddess of Wealth. You’ll serve under her and handle certain matters on my behalf.”
This meant Sein was truly bringing the God of Dusk Desire into his inner circle. He was not merely using him during the war in the Divine Descendants Star Domain.
The God of Dusk Desire’s initially anxious mood instantly soared.
Sensing that his future was suddenly filled with promise, he nodded vigorously, then immediately set out to tackle the most difficult task Sein had assigned him—establishing contact with the Insectoids and negotiating trade.
Sein paid him no further attention after that. Instead, he manipulated the Magic Cube, reverting the fortress robot to its planetary-class fortress form before turning and heading toward his laboratory.

Only half a year had passed since the end of the Buros Plane War when Sein received combat orders from Gongsun Wudi, instructing him to lead his legions toward Phylis Plane.
As a medium-sized world, Phylis Plane hosted a war of far greater scale. In the early stages, even overlord-level beings had been vying for dominance in its vicinity.
However, just like the other fronts, the momentum and overall situation on this plane changed dramatically after the Insectoids entered the fray.
In fact, the war on Phylis Plane was already nearing its end.
The sole remaining legion from Myriad Manifestations World, along with its law-wielding beings, was now merely fighting a desperate, last-ditch battle.
Gongsun Wudi summoning Sein this time felt less like a difficult assignment and more like a gesture of respect. It was almost as if she were forcing benefits into his hands.
A war with so little danger or difficulty was practically a windfall.
