Sovereign of the Ashes

Chapter 2000: Enrique Gustavo

As the massive metal fist came crashing down from the sky, the Rank Six Wanderer from Myriad Manifestations World suddenly thought of his grandmother.

Perhaps this was an instinctive reaction shared by sentient beings throughout the Astral Realm.

When faced with death, or a moment of extreme shock, they would think of those closest to them.

When Sein was confronted with the mortal threat posed by the Rank Six vizier of the Amenkha Empire, the first people he thought of were Leena and Lorianne.

For Wanderer Xinming, that thought lasted only an instant. His confidence in his trump card quickly snapped him out of the oppressive pressure brought by the giant metal robot.

He was certain he would be fine, and he was right.

The shockwave from the giant fortress robot’s punch was powerful enough to shatter a solid ice peak that had stood for ten thousand years.

Yet when it closed in on Wanderer Xinming, it merely dispersed a small portion of the white mist surrounding him. It seemed to have caused almost no harm to his actual body.

Fermera had already flown to Wanderer Xinming’s side. Her energy sword flashed with blinding light as she slashed directly at him.

This time, the Wanderer Xinming made no move to block. Instead, a confident smile appeared on his face.

Now that he had activated his trump card, he did not believe anyone could stop him.

On the horizon, another dark cloud appeared.

It was actually a flock of Hell Ravens. Sethem’s reinforcements had arrived.

The intense, frenzied demonic aura drew closer and closer. From the looks of it, more than a few law-wielding demon kings had come.

Goodbye. Wanderer Xinming thought to himself.

Although he could not escape directly from the sealed Divine Descendants World, leaving this perilous battlefield would not be a problem.

Pain and pleasure were often only truly understood through comparison.

Take Wanderer Xinming, for example. Even if he managed to evade this danger, there was no guarantee he could evade the next one.

Without a special life-saving trump card, avoiding death on the battlefield of the Divine Descendants World would be impossible.

Neither the Dawn Empire nor the Insectoids had shown the slightest intention of taking prisoners in this war.

However, compared to those two unfortunate Divine Descendant deities, Wanderer Xinming, who had at least managed to escape with his life, could not help but smile faintly.

You two can stay here and face the Magus Civilization’s reinforcements. I’ll be taking my leave first.

Although Wanderer Xinming had fought side by side with the two native deities for a short while, that was the only regretful thought he silently offered them.

His body, however, was far more honest. He fled swiftly and without the slightest hesitation.

As the tide of demons closed in, barrages of law attacks erupted one after another, raining down around Wanderer Xinming.

It seemed there were some clever ones among the demonic hordes as well. They had also realized that this fellow was trying to escape.

However, these demon kings, whose strength generally hovered around Rank Four or Rank Five, found it difficult to inflict any substantial damage on Wanderer Xinming with ranged attacks alone.

Even Fermera could no longer hold him back!

The smile on Xinming’s face gradually widened, as though he were mocking the utter incompetence of these Magus Civilization minions.

Trapped on a planar battlefield with almost no hope of escape, it was truly remarkable that this Rank Six Wanderer from the distant Myriad Manifestations World could still find a way to comfort himself and take pleasure in the situation.

Unfortunately... Not only would he never escape in the future, but he could not escape even now!

A cold demonic aura suddenly surged from deep within the distant tide of Hell Ravens.

To Sein, this aura felt every bit as formidable as Gongsun Wudi’s!

Clearly, there were formidable figures among the demons of the Quatar Star Pirates as well.

With a demon overlord like Gustavo in their ranks, there were bound to be other top-tier Rank Six demons too!

A deep blue flame, radiating eerie law fluctuations, suddenly surged from the depths of the demon tide and shot straight toward Wanderer Xinming.

The instant he sensed the aura of a peak Rank Six demon, Xinming’s expression changed.

His face grew paler by the second as he hurriedly tried to summon the white mist again and escape the battlefield.

But the deep blue infernal flame continued flying toward him at an unhurried pace. In the end, it struck him just as his body was about to vanish into thin air!

“NOOO!” Wanderer Xinming’s anguished cry echoed across the surrounding battlefield.

His body, which had already become more than ninety percent ethereal due to the white mist, gradually began to solidify once more.

His face turned even paler than before.

Facing the relentless assault from the Magus Civilization’s powerhouses all around him, as well as the gigantic metal fist coming down from the sky once more, Wanderer Xinming was swallowed by endless despair.

In truth, he still had some strength left. Yet in that moment, he actually forgot to resist.

RUMBLE!

Another snow-capped mountain collapsed.

The colossal fortress robot’s metal fist came crashing down, smashing Wanderer Xinming deep into the avalanche below.

Bathed in the sunlight of Divine Descendants World, the towering fortress robot gleamed brilliantly against the snow-covered mountains.

The sight of this colossal metal construct also sent a shock through the demon legions that had just arrived on the battlefield.

After all, aside from the federation’s overlord-class mobile suits, even its ordinary giant mobile suits were not this massive.

The Gallant Federation had no reason to manufacture mobile suits below Rank Six that were the same size as a planetary fortress either. That would be a complete waste of materials.

“Interesting.”

Amidst the endless tide of demons, pitch-black demonic bats and Hell Ravens flitted through the air as a familiar throne appeared.

More than ten law-wielding demon kings stood around the throne. Upon it sat a powerfully built peak Rank Six demon, calmly observing the battlefield before him.

There was no doubt that this throne was a world-class secret treasure. It was also one of the current symbols of the Hell Demon Clan.

Most of the time, this throne remained by the side of the demon overlord, Carter Gustavo.

Yet now, this peak Rank Six demon dared to sit on it openly. Clearly, he had deep ties to Carter Gustavo.

Oh, right. His name was Enrique Gustavo.

At that moment, the peak Rank Six demon’s crimson eyes burned with intensity as he fixed his gaze on the fortress robot unleashing its fury on the battlefield.

A distinctive deep-blue lawful radiance shimmered across the surface of the giant fortress robot.

Following that radiance, Enrique Gustavo’s gaze shifted to Sein, who was controlling the giant robot from nearby, then to the Magic Cube in his hand, and finally to the mask covering his face.

Demons were hardly benevolent beings, even after being subjugated by the Magus Civilization.

Take this particularly formidable peak Rank Six demon, for instance. The moment he saw Sein, his eyes betrayed undisguised greed and possessiveness.

“Young Master, would you like us to seize those two world-class secret treasures for you?” a Rank Five demon king with an enormous head and a somewhat dim-witted expression stepped forward and asked.

Before the creature could finish speaking, another slimmer Flame Demon King immediately jumped in.

“You mustn’t!”
