SSS Awakening: All My Clones Have Divine Bloodlines!
Chapter 148: [I’m glad to see you’re still alive....]Under normal circumstances, Evan would’ve been surprised.
But he wasn’t.
Over the past few days, his clones had farmed an absurd amount of ESS in order to reach 100% as quickly as possible and become strong enough to help him. They’d already been close before this fight even started, so it was only natural that they’d reached 100% as well.
As for Evan himself, he felt the bottleneck holding him back finally give way, and an unimaginable amount of energy surged through his body.
The sensation was familiar, similar to every other breakthrough before it, but he could tell right away this one was different. Bigger.
’Just as I thought.’
He’d known the ESS he’d stockpiled would give him a massive push toward C-rank, and now that he’d finally crossed the threshold, he could feel every bit of it.
C-Rank (Early-Stage) reached!
C-Rank (Mid-Stage) reached!
C-Rank (Advanced-Stage)...
Reached!
The rush of power kept building for a while before it finally settled, and by the end he could feel he’d hit an entirely new level. He immediately pulled up his status screen to check.

Seeing his progress percentage already so high, Evan couldn’t help but smile.
It was a smile of genuine satisfaction.
To Seraphine, however it looked almost maniacal, though she understood exactly why.
After all, she could clearly sense the explosive increase in Evan’s strength.
’Looks like he’s about to advance yet again,’ she thought.
Only a few days ago, he’d been nothing more than a D-Rank.
Now, he was already on the verge of reaching the peak of C-Rank.
She’d long since understood how abnormal Evan was, and she had a fairly good idea why. But even having watched this exact scene play out more than once now, she couldn’t help feeling struck by it all over again.
She’d been a genius in her own era, one of the best there ever was, she knew that about herself, and had made peace with it long ago. Very little surprised her anymore, especially not after reaching divinity.
Now, she couldn’t help but find herself being surprised every few hours, all because of this strange young man, who was beginning to resemble that other extraordinary being from her era more and more
’Maybe we really do have a chance this time,’ she thought, unable to keep her feelings from tangling into something complicated.
Evan’s potential was immense, and after following him this long, she’d confirmed he was exactly what they needed to finally put an end to the Abyss for good.
And yet, a nagging doubt still lingered in her heart, one that, right about now, felt almost pointless to hold onto.
While Seraphine was busy with her own thoughts, Evan finished reviewing his progress and noticed that his two clones’ advancement mission notifications had already appeared.

[Advancement Mission]
Rank: B
Description: Your shadow has reached the peak of its current rank. It is time to awaken.
Due to the Host’s particular circumstances, the requirements have been adjusted accordingly.
Kill one hundred C-Rank (Advanced-Stage) Forsaken, ten B-Rank (Early-Stage) Forsaken, and one B-rank (Advanced-stage) Forsaken in order to advance.
Mission Status:
> C-Rank (Advanced-Stage): 0/100
> B-Rank (Early-Stage): 0/10
> B-Rank (Advanced-Stage): 0/1

Same as last time, just with higher-ranked targets. He immediately checked Ash’s mission too, and just as he’d expected, identical.
’Seems like this place is limiting what the system can actually do,’
he thought.
Advancement requirements had always been a little tricky, and he’d known that since the beginning, but ever since arriving here, they’d stopped being strange at all. They were direct, clear, and more importantly, nearly identical in every aspect.
It was almost as though the System couldn’t generate anything more elaborate under the circumstances and was simply working with whatever options this place allowed.
Naturally, Evan wasn’t complaining.
His clones’ requirements were simple enough, and so far that had worked out fine for him. But if the same pattern applied to his own mission, then he was in trouble, because that would mean facing an A-rank at Advanced-Stage.
An existence just one step below an Overlord.
With that thought in mind, Evan could only shake his head.
There was no point worrying about it now.
His priority was to raise his progress back to 100%.
After that, he would decide what to do next.
While Evan went back to hunting, up north, near the massive chained sphere, another visible change was taking place.
This time, however, it wasn’t a disturbance that overturned the entire area like before.
It was something different.
Something that an ordinary being would never have been able to perceive.
Only someone powerful enough could have noticed it.
Tiny lights had begun flickering to life around the great sphere, sparks that soon burst and reshaped themselves into rows of translucent blue rectangular windows, each one lined with strange symbols.
[c3ec%ibg6$3...]
[£&f6r5c3...]
[ProcesSinR4£$%&/]
The strange symbols shifted and blurred, changing little by little, until readable text finally began to surface across them.
[Connection established successfully...]
The moment those words appeared, something deep within the sphere seemed to react.
A faint green glow pulsed from its core.
Deep inside the sphere, buried within what looked like a dense curtain of dark clouds crackling with greenish electricity, a strange figure could be made out.
Its features were unclear, almost imperceptible, blending seamlessly into the mist surrounding it. But from its overall shape, one thing was certain, it was humanoid.
Its face was nearly nonexistent, as if it had fully melted into the churning wall of clouds around it.
The figure remained motionless while the change within the sphere kept building. Several seconds passed as it unfolded, and then two thin slits abruptly split open.
Eyes. That being’s eyes.
Right at that moment, a familiar voice rang out, one that no longer carried the flat, mechanical monotone it used to have.
It was clear now. Almost young. Like the voice of a child.
