Morning sunlight spilled across the Ashard Estate like warm honey, bathing the marble walkways and trimmed hedges in a soft golden glow. The mansion had already awakened.

Somewhere in the kitchen, breakfast was being prepared. Construction workers continued putting the finishing touches on the awakened gym, unaware of the intense battle that had already taken place in the more normal parts of the gym.

Well, they would eventually find some liquids... Probably.

Birds chirped happily outside. It was peaceful.

Silas stepped out of the mansion wearing a plain black tank top, charcoal shorts, and a pair of black Crocs with bunny designs. His pink hair was still slightly damp after his shower, which also ended up with him satisfying a craving ice empress.

He stretched lazily, or at least tried to.

"I can’t feel my legs."

[That is because they are recovering.]

"I know why."

[Then why did you mention it?]

"I wanted sympathy."

[Denied.]

Silas sighed dramatically.

"You’re heartless."

[I possess common sense. And I don’t fuck women as if I have a grudge with SEX!]

"..."

Behind him came a familiar voice.

"Morning."

Silas turned.

Gromda emerged from the hallway wearing an oversized gray shirt that barely reached halfway down her thighs. Even after returning from Gorgath and gaining her new Runic Jotun form, she had learned to shrink herself back to her usual seven-foot height.

Her white hair was tied into a loose ponytail. Red runic markings glowed faintly beneath her skin before fading once more. She looked perfectly healthy ...Almost. Well, not after all that, but there was something more.

There was an unmistakable sparkle in her eyes, and Silas immediately recognized it.

"You’re going back to the gym."

She nodded without hesitation.

"Mm."

"You were just there."

"Mm."

"For..." She tilted her head. "Exercise."

Silas sighed. "You know what we did wasn’t exercise... technically."

Gromda looked genuinely confused.

"Bad?"

"No."

He smiled.

"Actually... I think it’s kind of cute."

Her ears twitched happily.

"Mm."

She leaned down slightly and kissed his forehead before casually walking toward the gym.

Silas watched her disappear.

"Definitely addicted."

Breakfast was lively as usual. Anna sat at the head of the table with coffee. Chloe quietly buttered toast while reading the morning news on her tablet. It was something she always did. Alpha looked half-asleep.

"You look dead," Silas observed.

"I had a weird dream."

"The paradise one?"

Alpha blinked. "How do you know?"

"I guessed."

"You guessed correctly."

Anna looked up.

"What kind of dream?"

"I don’t know." Alpha frowned.

"It felt real."

Silas made a mental note.

Probably another descendant thing. It always came with a paradise.

He’d ask the system later.

After breakfast, Raymond arrived precisely on schedule. He stepped out of a sleek black sedan while adjusting his tie.

"Good morning, Mr. Ashard."

"Morning."

"I trust you are prepared?"

Silas nodded.

"As prepared as someone about to control two tons of expensive metal can be."

Raymond smiled politely. "Fortunately, today’s instructor specializes in that concern."

Almost on cue, another vehicle rolled through the estate gates. It was a modest silver sedan. The driver’s door opened, and out stepped a man in his early fifties. He wore sunglasses despite the mild weather, a navy polo shirt tucked neatly into khaki trousers, and polished brown shoes.

His hair had begun graying around the temples. His posture, however, was perfectly straight. There was something calm about him. Experienced and confident.

Raymond gestured toward him.

"Mr. Williams Drake. The instructor I recommended."

The man approached with an easy smile.

"You must be Mr. Ashard."

"Silas is fine."

He extended his hand, and Williams shook it firmly.

"I’ve taught teenagers, businessmen, professional racers, and one eighty-two-year-old grandmother."

He paused.

"But never someone whose résumé includes defeating Rift Bosses."

Silas scratched his cheek.

"I try to diversify."

Williams laughed.

"I like you already."

Instead of heading toward the instructor’s sedan, Raymond led them deeper into the garage. The lights automatically illuminated. There, beneath carefully positioned spotlights, rested five vehicles.

Williams whistled. "Beautiful collection."

Silas followed his gaze and the vintage masterpiece immediately caught his eye. The 1963 Jaguar E-Type Roadster.

British Racing Green, tan leather interior, and chrome accents that gleamed beneath the lights. Its impossibly long hood stretched elegantly before the cabin like the nose of a hunting animal.

The wire-spoke wheels looked timeless.

Williams walked around it slowly.

"Oh... this... this is special."

He gently rested a hand on the hood.

"They don’t make beauty like this anymore."

Silas smiled. "I’ve never driven."

Williams looked horrified.

"You’ve inherited a legend, and you’ve never driven."

"I was busy."

"Killing monsters?"

"Surviving."

Williams nodded thoughtfully. "Fair enough."

Minutes later, the Jaguar rolled out of the estate. Silas occupied the driver’s seat while Williams sat beside him. Raymond followed behind in another vehicle just in case.

The leather steering wheel felt surprisingly comfortable.

"So..." Williams folded his arms. "First lesson."

Silas nodded seriously.

"I’m listening."

"The accelerator makes the car go."

"..."

"The brake makes it stop."

"..."

"The steering wheel changes direction."

"..."

Silas blinked. "That’s it?"

Williams grinned. "No. But if you remember those three things, we’ve already prevented eighty percent of accidents."

Silas burst into laughter. They started inside the estate’s enormous private roads. There was plenty of room, and almost no obstacles.

"Ease onto the accelerator."

Silas obeyed. The Jaguar purred beautifully.

"Oh..." Silas smiled. "That sounds nice."

Williams nodded proudly. "That’s an inline-six engine. It has personality. I’ve never heard someone describe an engine like that."

"You will."

The first few minutes went surprisingly well. Silas learned quickly. No... very quickly. He was learning too quickly.

Williams noticed it first.

"Brake."

Silas braked smoothly.

"Turn left."

He did it perfectly.

"Reverse."

He completed it flawlessly.

"Interesting." Williams raised an eyebrow.

"What?"

"You’re learning unusually fast."

Silas shrugged. "I’ve got decent coordination."

The system quietly chimed in.

[Correction. Perfect Stature, Enhanced Perception, Prowess, they all contribute.]

Silas internally nodded.

’Right... I keep forgetting I’m basically cheating.’

An hour later, they left the estate and entered quieter suburban roads. Williams gave fewer instructions now.

Silas was beginning to relax. Until a squirrel suddenly sprinted across the road. He reacted instinctively.

Instead of braking, he swerved. The Jaguar performed an almost perfect evasive maneuver, causing Williams to grab the dashboard, while the squirrel happily continued living its best life.

The Jaguar remained perfectly centered afterward. Williams slowly removed his sunglasses.

"Did... did you just drift around a squirrel?"

"Was that bad?"

"It was..." Williams searched desperately for words. "...technically incredible, and completely unnecessary."

"I didn’t want to hit it."

"I appreciate the sentiment, but please use the brakes next time."

"Noted."

Another hour passed. They practiced parking, lane discipline, traffic awareness, and mirror checks. Everything progressed smoothly. Finally, Williams leaned back.

"I think that’s enough for today."

"So..." He smiled. "How do you feel?"

Silas rested both hands on the steering wheel.

"Honestly? I get it now."

"What?"

"Why people enjoy driving." He looked through the windshield. "It isn’t just transportation. It feels... free."

Williams smiled.

"Exactly. You don’t learn driving. You experience it."

Silas nodded thoughtfully.

"I like that."

As they turned back toward the estate, the Jaguar’s engine hummed contentedly beneath them.
