His explanation remained brief because he understood the technique through mana rather than anatomy.

Emma, who apparently had studied biology before coming to the Land of Origin, listened to him before explaining which muscles they needed to contract and how they worked together. Her explanation filled in the parts Alex couldn’t properly describe.

The three of them practiced throwing punches while focusing on the movement of their muscles instead of raw strength.

Sarah and Frank struggled to coordinate everything at first, but they gradually became more consistent. Yulia practiced with the greatest determination, repeating the same motion over and over without stopping.

Alex understood why she was pushing herself so hard. There was still a chance Joseph was alive somewhere inside the dungeon. If she wanted to rescue him, she needed every bit of strength she could gain.

After watching them for several minutes, Alex finally spoke. "Keep practicing for a little longer, then rest for five minutes. We’ll start moving immediately after that because the monsters deeper inside must’ve heard all the fighting. We need to be in our best condition before we run into them, especially if they’re above Level 10."

Everyone nodded and continued training.

The giant Titan Reef Crab that had shattered the shield was obviously stronger than Level 10. If one such monster existed, there was no reason to believe it was the only one.

Preparing themselves now was much safer than regretting it later.

While the others rested, Frank and Yulia absorbed the Gene Potentials they had collected. Their Species Levels both rose to Level 6, rewarding them with several additional stat points.

The increase was enough for Alex to notice the slight improvement in their physical presence.

Alex opened his own Status. Four unassigned stat points waited for him, but instead of distributing them immediately, he stared at the numbers in silence.

His first instinct was to increase Mana.

More Mana would strengthen his boost spell even further, allowing him to move faster and strike harder. However, the previous battle had also reminded him that his body became exhausted during prolonged fights, even when his mana reserves remained sufficient.

The only reason he had managed to fight for so long was because he constantly adjusted every movement.

By sensing his muscles with mana, he eliminated unnecessary motions and reduced wasted stamina.

If he had fought the same battle as the inexperienced Alex who had first arrived in the Land of Origin, he would’ve collapsed from exhaustion long before defeating the monsters.

’Should I increase Constitution instead?’ he wondered.

Higher Constitution would let him fight longer before tiring. With his current control over his movements, though, his stamina already lasted reasonably well unless the battle dragged on for far too long.

Mana presented the opposite problem.

If he increased it, he could make his boost become even stronger. Stronger boosts meant greater speed and power, but they also consumed his stamina faster. There was a real chance he would wear himself out before finishing a difficult fight.

On the other hand, increasing Constitution didn’t actually help him defeat stronger enemies. It simply allowed him to survive longer against them.

Every monster Alex had fought possessed far greater stamina than any human, so trying to outlast one in battle was unrealistic from the beginning.

More Mana offered a different solution.

If his attacks became powerful enough, he could simply end battles before stamina became an issue. It was a riskier approach, but it also fit the way he preferred to fight. Rather than surviving through endurance, he’d rather overwhelm his opponents with superior offense.

Even so, Alex didn’t assign the points.

Life wasn’t a game where mistakes could be corrected by loading an earlier save. If he distributed his stats poorly, the next battle might be his last.

He decided to wait until they explored deeper into the dungeon. If they encountered large groups of monsters, then Constitution would become far more valuable.

If the dungeon mainly contained a few powerful enemies instead, he would invest everything into Mana as he had originally planned.

Closing that thought for the moment, Alex looked at his Status again before activating his newly leveled spells.

Battle Instinct sharpened his focus as usual, while Mana Thread wrapped around his sword. He looked down at the blade and noticed the difference immediately.

The thin white edge that had previously covered only part of the weapon now extended across the entire twenty four-inch blade.

Alex nodded with satisfaction before cancelling the spell.

He focused toward another problem. Despite creating a powerful Fire Bullet during the battle, the System still hadn’t recognized it as an actual spell. It seemed creating the projectile wasn’t enough.

He likely needed to learn how to launch it properly before the System acknowledged it.

The theory seemed simple enough.

If he detonated only the rear portion of the compressed fireball, the resulting force should propel the rest of it forward.

The problem was that even the slightest instability caused the entire Fire Bullet to explode immediately instead of remaining intact.

Alex closed his Status window and walked toward Yulia, who had just finished resting.

"Hey, do you know how Joseph used his Mana Bullet?" he asked.

Yulia stopped practicing the Piercing Punch and turned toward him. She believed she would eventually gain a Piercing Punch Technique, so she had no intention of giving up.

After thinking for a few seconds, she answered, "Mana Bullet? I didn’t really understand it myself, but Joseph said he turned his mana into Kinetic Element Mana through his wand. Then he took pure mana from his heart, shaped it into a bullet, used the Kinetic Element Mana to push it forward, and fired it."

"Thanks for explaining it. That was helpful," Alex said.

"Really? You don’t have a Kinetic Element Wand, so I don’t think you can use Mana Bullet," she said with a bitter smile.

Alex simply waved his hand before walking back to his spot. There was a faint shine in his eyes as he replayed her explanation in his head. Joseph’s wand possessed the Kinetic Element, unlike Alex’s Fire Element Wand, and Kinetic Element Mana seemed to carry the property of motion.

Alex couldn’t copy Joseph’s method because he lacked the proper element. However, Yulia’s explanation had given him another idea.

Instead of using Kinetic Element Mana to propel the bullet, perhaps he could use an explosion to accomplish the same thing.
