Sierra watched Moon execute the double arrow maneuver several times in a row without a single miss.

Every release converged cleanly on the target. Every convergence landed within a fraction of a centimeter of the center. His fingers had adjusted to the multi-arrow grip within his first successful attempt, and his subsequent shots had refined the technique into his own.

She nodded, visibly pleased.

"Okay. Let’s move on to my specialty. Elemental arrows."

Moon lowered his bow and gave her his full attention. This was the very reason he had come here. He had watched her fight using elemental arrows against the Ascenders of the Dark Organisation, and it was mesmerizing to say the least.

If he could learn a thing or two, he would be satisfied.

"Unlike normal arrows, elemental arrows are incredibly versatile in their usage. Every element brings its own applications, and a skilled archer builds a personal library of elemental techniques that can be applied to almost any tactical situation. The key isn’t strength, but rather, it’s understanding. Knowing which element solves which problem, and how to shape that element for the specific outcome you want."

She picked up an arrow from her quiver and held it up between her fingers. Her fingers curled slightly around the arrow, and a small flame flickered along its head.

"Fire arrows are the loudest. Most archers reach for them first because the damage is impressive and the visual is intimidating. They’re useful for area denial, breaking enemy formations, and igniting cover to force targets into the open. But fire is also a distraction weapon. A well-placed fire arrow drawing attention to one flank lets your allies move against the other. Never think of fire as only offense. Think of it as psychology."

"Wind arrows are the most underrated. They could easily be dismissed because they don’t deal significant direct damage, but that’s a newbie mistake. Wind arrows are how experienced elemental archers stay alive.

A wind arrow are fast and release a concentrated burst on impact that pushes anything nearby away from the point of contact. Fired into your own feet, it launches you backward or upward depending on your momentum. Fired between yourself and a pursuing enemy, it creates a pressure barrier that buys you a critical moment to escape, or reposition."

She continued through the list.

"Earth arrows are for penetration. Concentrated stone and density around the arrowhead lets you punch through armor, shields, and terrain that would stop any other projectile. They’re heavy, they fly slower, and they cost more mana per shot. But when you need to reach something that has actively fortified itself against you, no other basic element compares."

Moon nodded slowly, absorbing each explanation.

"Water arrows are the least flexible. They are usually only used to counter a fire-opponent. If you are lucky enough, your water element could have a special effect such as healing in the later evolutionary stage."

She lowered her hand and looked at him directly.

"Those are the four basic elements. Most Elemental archers are only able to use an element or two. Rarely do you find an Elemental archer that could control all four elements. "

Moon nodded once.

"You. However. Are not most archers." Sierra’s eyes sharpened slightly. "I’ve seen your fights, and I’ve been briefed on your capabilities. Not only do you control the four basic elements, but you also command two advanced ones. Lightning and ice."

"Advanced elements are not just stronger versions of the basics. They are fundamentally different categories of interaction with the world, and when applied to archery, they open doors that no basic-element archer can reach. Including me."

She stepped closer to Moon.

"Naturally, I don’t need to explain the basic applications of the lightning element to you. Someone like you is already deeply familiar with it. Your coating technique during the tournament was clean. Most fighters can’t wrap their element around a projectile without either losing containment mid-flight or bleeding off half the charge before impact."

Moon nodded.

"I’ve spent a lot of time with lightning coating. It’s my primary method for weapon enhancement."

"I know, which is why I’m confident you will be able to coat arrows with some practice too. However, this is not the ceiling. Rather, it’s the beginning."

She lifted an arrow from her quiver and held it up between her fingers.

"There’s a level above coating. A technique most never touch, because it requires access to a class that supports it. Very few classes do. Mine does. Yours, technically, shouldn’t. But after what Alaric discovered about the River of Paths, I think you deserve to at least understand the concept. Whether you can apply it now is a different question. Understanding it now will give you a chance later, when you finally can."

She rotated the arrow in her fingers.

"The technique is called assimilation."

Moon’s brow rose slightly.

"Coating is what it sounds like. The element wraps around the arrow. The element and the arrow remain distinct. The lightning sits on the outside, the material sits underneath. If containment breaks, the coating falls away and the arrow becomes ordinary again. This is why coating requires constant maintenance during flight, and why coated arrows lose power over distance."

She lifted her free hand.

Sparks of pale silver-green light, manifesting as wind, began forming in her palm.

"Assimilation is different. Instead of wrapping the element around the arrow, you thread the element through the arrow. Element particles integrate with the arrow’s molecular structure and occupy the same physical space. The arrow doesn’t have a wind coating, the arrow becomes a true wind arrow, at the physical level, temporarily and completely."

The wind essence in her palm flowed toward the arrow she was holding.

Moon watched with intent and focus.

The wind sank into the arrow, changing its color from the inside out, becoming lighter almost translucent at the edges with a silver-green shimmer.

Sierra nocked, drew and released the wind arrow.

The arrow traveled the two hundred meters to the target in an instant.

The impact detonated on contact, releasing a powerful gust of wind that not only destroyed the target, but also pushed it away.

Sierra lowered her bow.

"That was assimilation. The arrow carried the full element from release to impact, and the entire element expended itself on the target."

Moon exhaled slowly.

"That’s beautiful."

She smiled.

"Now you try."
