"Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars." — Kahlil Gibran.

The vibrational frequency pulsed through his collarbone in a concentrated burst.
CRACK!
The collarbone split into three pieces, and the upper ribs cracked along stress lines that the Kinetic Disruption frequency had carved through the molecular structure.
The pain was intense.
He bit down so hard on the leather strap that his teeth nearly cut through it.
His legs gave out, and he dropped to his knees. His whole body shook as pain tore through his torso, so intense that he could barely think.
A mouthful of blood surged up from his throat and sprayed across the floor in front of him.
His left arm went completely dead. The fragmented collarbone had severed the nerve connections to his shoulder, and his entire left side from the neck down was a mass of broken bone, torn muscle, and aching nerve endings.
He knelt there on the floor, shaking, bleeding from his mouth and waiting for the system to respond.
Three seconds. Five. Eight....
Then doubt started creeping in. What if the system didn’t respond? Had he really broken his collarbone and gone through all that pain for nothing?
Fifteen. Sixteen....
[Ding!]
[Physical injury detected. Source: Kinetic Disruption, self-inflicted.]
[Injury severity: CRITICAL. Left clavicle fractured in three places. Three upper rib fractures. Soft tissue damage. Internal bleeding detected.]
[CRITICAL-TIER GACHA PULL GRANTED.]
The notification broke through the pain, and despite everything, Micah felt a faint smile pull at the corner of his mouth.
He pulled the wheel.
The golden roulette materialized in his mind, spinning at a speed he’d never seen before.
The colors didn’t blur together this time.
They separated, each one distinct and vivid. Gold, crimson, blue, green, and white flashed through his mind in rapid succession, making his head pound.
The wheel clicked through tier after tier, each section flashing for a fraction of a second before being replaced by the next.
Low-tier, mid-tier, high-tier, all of them passed in a blur until the wheel began to slow.
It locked.
A brilliantly glowing crimson orb sat in the center of the wheel, pulsing with a deep, rhythmic light that matched his own heartbeat.
The orb was almost solid, and it radiated a heat that he could feel inside his mind.
It broke.
[Item Acquired: Transcendent Marrow-Forging Pill (Consumable, High-Tier)]
[Transcendent Marrow-Forging Pill: Fundamentally alters and condenses the user’s bone structure and marrow. Passively increases base physical density and Flux capacity by 200%.
Rebuilds skeletal framework at the molecular level, creating bones that are exponentially harder, denser, and more Flux-conductive than standard human bone.
Side effects: Extreme pain.
Duration: 4-6 hours.]
A small, blood-red pill materialized in his right palm.
It was warm, almost hot, and it pulsed with the same deep crimson glow as the Magma Behemoth’s core.
The surface was smooth and slightly translucent, and he could see tiny swirls of darker red moving inside it.
Micah stared at the pill through half-closed eyes, his heavy, bloody panting turning into a strained smile.
He spat the leather strap out of his mouth, leaving a trail of blood and saliva across the floor.
His left side throbbed with pain. The broken collarbone shifted whenever he breathed, while his three cracked ribs sent fresh pain through his chest with every inhale.
But he didn’t have time to enjoy the pain.
The pill needed to be taken while the body was in a state of extreme stress, because the alchemical energy worked by rebuilding the bone structure during the healing process.
If he waited too long and his body started healing naturally, the pill’s effects would be diluted by the body’s own repair work competing with the alchemical reconstruction.
He tossed the crimson pill into his mouth and swallowed it dry.
The reaction was not gradual.
A tidal wave of boiling, corrosive heat erupted from his stomach the instant the pill dissolved.
It exploded outward like a bomb going off inside his torso, flooding directly into his skeletal system through channels that shouldn’t have existed.
His bones started to melt. At least, that was what it felt like.
The alchemical energy invaded his skeletal structure and began dissolving the calcium matrix of his bones, breaking it down into its most fundamental components before rebuilding it from scratch with a molecular density that was orders of magnitude higher than anything his body had ever produced.
He collapsed onto the cold floor, his body convulsing as the rebuilding process tore through his skeleton with precision.
His collarbone pieces shifted, the fragments realigning themselves and fusing together with a density that made the original bone look like chalk by comparison.
His cracked ribs did the same, the fracture lines sealing themselves shut with new bone that was thicker, harder, and denser than the old.
But the process wasn’t cleanable.
The alchemical energy was rebuilding his bones faster than his muscles could adapt, and the sheer tension of his skeleton expanding and condensing inside his body was tearing his muscle fibers apart from the inside out.
His biceps seized. His deltoids tore. The muscles along his spine ripped in long, rough lines that sent waves of fresh agony rolling through his body.
His skin pulled tight over his expanding muscles, and black sweat poured from his pores as the pill’s alchemical residue left his system.
He was being rebuilt and destroyed at the same time.
Then the system spoke again.
[Ding!]
[Physical injury detected. Source: Internal muscular rupture, alchemical side effect.]
[Injury report severity: Moderate-to-severe. Multiple muscle fiber tears. Micro-fractures in rebuilt skeletal structure.]
[Mid-tier Gacha pull granted.]
Even through the agony, Micah’s brain registered the notification. He pulled the wheel without thinking, his consciousness operating on pure instinct while his body was being torn apart on the floor.
The wheel spun fast and locked quickly. A green orb appeared in his mind, pulsing with a steady, organic light.
The orb shattered.
[Talent Acquired: Regenerative Tissue (Passive, Mid-Tier)]
[Regenerative Tissue: Aggressively accelerates natural cellular healing. Rapidly mends ruptured organs, torn muscles, and micro-fractures during extreme biological stress. Works passively, requiring no conscious activation. Effect scales with severity of injury.]
The talent activated immediately, and the effect was instantaneous.
Green energy flooded through his body, targeting the torn muscle fibers and micro-fractures that the Marrow-Forging Pill was creating.
The healing was fast, stitching torn muscles back together with m reinforced tissue even as the pill continued to break them down.
The two forces, destruction and reconstruction, began working in a rapid cycle.
The pill would dissolve and rebuild a section of bone, the rebuilding process would tear the surrounding muscle, and the Regenerative Tissue talent would immediately repair the damage with stronger, denser tissue.
Then the pill would move to the next section, and the cycle would repeat.
Micah lay on the floor of his quarters, trembling, sweating, and bleeding from a dozen places at once, while his body was broken down and rebuilt from the inside out.
It was definitely going to be a long night.
