All of a sudden, a powerful pressure fell upon the entire region.

The remaining awakeners of the Radiant Stars felt their bodies freeze in fear, as though an invisible hand had suddenly wrapped around their hearts.

Their expressions instantly grimaced, while cold sweat broke out across their temples and slowly rolled down their cheeks.

Even Christine, who remained unconscious, furrowed her brows deeply, her jaw tightening subconsciously before her mouth opened wide, as though her body were instinctively searching for air.

Strangely, her lungs seemed to have been restricted, making every breath incredibly difficult and forcing faint gasps out of her throat.

The zombie blood ants, however, remained completely unaffected.

The reason was simple—the Ironfeather Eagle had also become an undead, and thus, the pressure it released towards other undead had transformed from something resembling killing intent into a natural sense of superiority.

It was the instinctive dominance of a stronger undead over weaker beings.

Normally, such a familiar dominant pressure would’ve been enough to make other undead instinctively submit to the stronger existence, and depending on the difference in rank, some might even abandon their previous master and willingly follow the stronger undead.

However, this effect didn’t apply to the zombie blood ants. The reason was none other than Zombie Sovereignty, one of Ethan’s SSS-rank skills.

The skill allowed lower-ranked zombies under Ethan’s authority to follow his commands unconditionally, and the zombie blood ants had already been subdued by this authority.

The Ironfeather Eagle’s natural dominance was unable to interfere with their connection to Ethan. They remained completely loyal to their true master.

Of course, the result might have been different if the eagle had been of a higher rank than Ethan’s authority could suppress. But against these F-rank ants? Its dominance was completely useless.

Even the envoy flinched subconsciously, his eyes darting towards the sky almost instantly as he scanned through the surrounding forest, his pupils nearly shrinking to the size of needles.

There, a giant silhouette was rapidly approaching from the distant sky, its enormous wings tearing through the air and causing powerful gusts of wind to sweep through the trees below.

Even from several miles away, the envoy could clearly feel the frightening presence it carried.

"Ironfeather Eagle?" he muttered, his expression becoming unsettled.

This was bad.

Not long ago, the association had captured and imprisoned a C-rank boss monster known as the Ironfeather Eagle at an adequate distance from Valeria City. The purpose wasn’t simply to imprison it—it was to breed monsters.

Why?

Because it was necessary. Stronger monsters couldn’t easily invade human territories because of the sacrifices and arrangements left behind by the first generation awakeners, whose efforts had created a barrier that prevented powerful monsters from freely entering human lands.

However, that protection wasn’t eternal, and monsters were simply too inefficient when it came to reproduction.

Although new monsters could naturally be born, their numbers and growth couldn’t keep up with humanity’s needs.

For awakeners, hunting monsters was one of the most important methods of breaking through new ranks of strength.

But if monsters continued disappearing without replenishing their numbers, just how long could humanity survive?

Who knew when the arrangements left behind by the first generation would finally collapse, and if that happened, was humanity truly confident in dealing with the monsters that had been held back for decades?

No, they weren’t. That was precisely why the association had established such methods.

By maintaining a controlled number of monsters and allowing them to grow within isolated regions, humanity could continuously hunt them while ensuring the monster population never truly disappeared.

It was cruel, and it was even more cruel when one considered that humans were sometimes sacrificed in the process.

But from the perspective of the association, it was the most practical method—a small number of people dying today could potentially save millions tomorrow.

The Ironfeather Eagle was one such sacrifice. It had been captured alive and restrained using special equipment, becoming nothing more than a living resource for the association.

It was supposed to remain there, slowly becoming fodder for the monsters that would eventually be born around it.

And yet, an anomaly had occurred. The Ironfeather Eagle had broken free, and even worse, it had somehow found the location of the people responsible for its imprisonment.

The envoy’s expression became serious, yet strangely, his body remained completely relaxed. He simply raised one hand and waved it bluntly towards the other awakeners.

"Go and kill the ants inside the colony."

As his hand moved, the oppressive pressure covering the surroundings disappeared instantaneously, and the Radiant Stars felt their bodies become lighter.

They exchanged glances before immediately understanding his intentions—the pressure alone had been enough to suppress genuine D-rank awakeners, which meant the creature approaching them was at least C-rank.

There was no point in remaining outside.

"Let’s go!" one of them shouted, and the awakeners immediately moved, quickly killing the remaining zombie blood ants that had appeared outside before rushing towards the cavern entrance.

One after another, their figures disappeared into the darkness.

At the end, Clara was still holding Christine. Unlike the others, she couldn’t move at full speed while carrying another person, especially someone unconscious.

Before entering the cavern, however, her curiosity got the better of her, and she couldn’t help but turn around. Her eyes immediately landed on the envoy.

The man stood completely still, his arms remaining steadily behind his back while his long white robes fluttered wildly in the wind, his dark hair waving behind him and revealing his pale face beneath the loose veil.

The gusts of wind continued crashing against his body, yet he didn’t move—only his robes and hair fluttered violently, and the teal bells hanging from his ears rang rampantly.

*Cling! Cling! Cling!*

The sound was strangely clear amidst the roaring wind.

Right before his eyes, the Ironfeather Eagle had already crossed several miles in mere seconds, its enormous body descending from the sky before landing directly in front of him.

Boom!

The ground trembled, and dust scattered in every direction. The eagle proudly raised its enormous head, its jade-green eyes staring directly at the envoy, and for a moment, neither side moved.

The envoy’s eyes slowly narrowed. ’This smell, and these changes in its body... had the eagle...?’ His gaze slowly traveled across its enormous body.

The once bright brown feathers had darkened considerably, its exposed skin taking on an eerie jade-green color, while its massive claws had become pitch-black. Most importantly, its eyes were glowing with the same strange green light as the blood ants.

The envoy’s expression finally changed as he muttered softly. "Interesting..."

At this exact moment, Clara gulped down nervously before turning around and entering the cave.

Staying beside a potentially dangerous C-rank monster was no smart decision, especially when she had someone to protect.

Yet right before she completely disappeared into the darkness, something strange happened.

Her senses suddenly expanded, her heartbeat accelerated, and her entire body screamed at her to dodge.

On the other side, the remaining members of the Radiant Stars had already infiltrated the nest.

Unlike Clara, they weren’t carrying the weight of Christine’s safety, and thus, they were able to move much more aggressively.

Depending on their individual strengths, they rapidly descended through the enormous underground colony, killing every zombie blood ant they encountered.

Several hundred zombie blood ants had already been killed, their corpses scattered throughout the tunnels and filling the underground passages with a disgusting stench of rotting flesh and blood.

The jade-green blood smeared across the walls and ground, making the entire nest look as though it had been painted with poisonous liquid.

"Keep moving!" one of the Radiant Stars shouted, and they continued advancing.

The first floor had already been completely swept, then the second, then the third, and with every floor they cleared, their confidence continued increasing.

Although the sheer number of ants was troublesome, the difference between their ranks was simply too large—they were genuine D-rank awakeners, and against F-rank monsters, their abilities were overwhelming.

Even if these creatures were somewhat unusual, their strength advantage remained absolute.

"There’s another passage!" one of them shouted, and the group immediately turned towards it. A large tunnel descended further into the earth. The fourth floor.

The remaining awakeners exchanged glances. None of them noticed the faint vibrations traveling through the ground beneath their feet.

None of them noticed the countless zombie blood ants gathering deeper inside. And none of them noticed that the further they descended, the more rotten the air became.

Even the walls had begun changing. The stone was no longer ordinary—it was covered in strange dark-green stains, while faint traces of blood could be seen between the cracks. The deeper they went, the stronger the smell became.
