SSS-Rank Awakening: My Talent Multiplies Everything
Chapter 210: Ghorrath. With his question finally answered, Kael couldn’t help but smile.
"Thanks, Aiona."
"Don’t mention it."
The tiny fairy smiled back.
"Just be sure to ask whenever something is bothering you. I’ll try my best to answer."
"Okay."
Aiona nodded before turning around.
"Then I’ll leave you to your ventures."
She fluttered toward the small pink house sitting nearby, disappearing inside a moment later and leaving Kael alone in the start room.
Kael turned his attention back toward the Void Echo.
The clone was still sitting in the lotus position, completely absorbed in its cultivation. Its breathing remained steady as it continued circulating the Primordial Genesis Sutra, seemingly unaffected by everything happening around it.
For a moment, Kael considered summoning more.
He could create six additional Void Echoes and have all of them cultivate simultaneously.
The thought was tempting.
But Kael quickly dismissed it.
His next trial was a Tower Boss.
There was no telling what kind of battle awaited him on the next floor, and keeping the remaining six Void Echoes available could prove far more useful than having them all sitting here cultivating.
Who knew what he might need during the battle?
With that decision made, Kael activated his nano bracelet.
The bracelet immediately responded.
Countless tiny black particles erupted from its surface and rapidly spread across his body. Within a short moment, his entire body was covered.
With that, Kael turned his attention to the next trial.
A notification screen appeared before him.
[Do you wish to proceed to the next Trial?]
[YES / NO]
Kael didn’t waste any time.
"Yes."
The moment he made his choice, the start room vanished.
His body disappeared from the space, and the world around him changed almost instantly.
Kael’s first sensation was the crunch beneath his boots.
Something brittle had shattered beneath his feet.
His vision hadn’t fully recovered yet, but the sensation was enough to make him realize what he was standing on.
Bones.
As his vision cleared, Kael slowly looked around.
An enormous open plain stretched in every direction.
Bones covered the ground as far as he could see. Skulls, ribs, limbs, and fragments of countless creatures were scattered across the barren landscape, forming a sea of remains beneath his feet.
The air was stale.
Heavy with the unmistakable scent of death.
Above him stretched a crimson sky that cast a deep red glow over the entire landscape, bathing the countless corpses in an eerie light.
Kael stared at the scenery for several seconds.
It looked like something ripped straight out of a horror fantasy story.
Then he noticed movement in the distance.
Kael’s gaze immediately shifted, and he was shocked by what he saw.
In the distance stood a gigantic mass of corpses.
No.
Calling it a mass was an understatement.
It was a construct, a monstrous body formed entirely from densely packed corpses, hundreds upon hundreds of them fused into a single towering existence.
Kael stared at the grotesque creature.
A notification appeared before him.
---
[FLOOR 20 (Boss Chamber) — HELL DIFFICULTY]
[Mission: Combat]
[Objective: Defeat the Boss Monster Ghorrath]
---
Kael glanced at the notification for a moment before dismissing it.
His attention returned to the creature.
His eyes narrowed.
He activated Eye of Judgment, and the next moment, Ghorrath’s information immediately appeared before his eyes.
---
[Ghorrath]
Ghorrath was once a brilliant challenger of the Tower who dabbled in the dark arts of necromancy. His obsession with the forbidden art eventually led him to begin grafting parts of other entities’ corpses into his own body. He eventually met his end while attempting to graft one of the Tower’s Boss Monsters into himself, only to suffer a backlash from Existence Cramming. The resulting failure transformed him into one of the Wardens of the Tower.
[Level: Scales with the Target]
[Abilities:]
[Can use the abilities of all existences grafted into it without limits.]
---
Kael stared at the information.
For several seconds, he didn’t speak.
Then his expression slowly twisted.
"What the hell is this?"
"Use all the abilities of every existence grafted into it without limits?"
Kael’s eyes widened.
"Are you fucking kidding me?"
How was he supposed to fight something like this?
Ghorrath towered roughly twenty feet above the ground, its enormous body constructed from hundreds of corpses of different shapes and sizes. Human corpses were mixed with monstrous remains, some of them barely recognizable beneath the layers of flesh and bone that had been fused together.
And every single one of those existences could potentially possess abilities.
If Ghorrath could use all of them without limits, then Kael wasn’t looking at a single opponent.
He was looking at dozens of abilities condensed into one monstrous body.
"This has to be a joke."
As though responding to his words, Ghorrath suddenly moved.
The enormous creature’s head twisted toward Kael.
Its countless corpse-like features shifted as a pair of eyes buried within the mass of rotten flesh locked onto him.
The next instant, its mouth opened.
"ROOOOOAAAAAR!"
The roar exploded across the battlefield.
The ground trembled.
Bones scattered in every direction as the sound wave tore through the plain. The crimson sky seemed to vibrate beneath the sheer force of the roar, while an invisible mental wave crashed toward Kael.
Kael’s eyes narrowed.
The mental attack struck his consciousness but was immediately repelled by his mental defense. Still, Kael didn’t seem happy about this, instead he seemed more troubled.
That simple roar had been an ability.
He had barely even entered the battle, and Ghorrath had already demonstrated one of its abilities without making any real effort.
Who knew how many more were hidden inside that grotesque body?
Kael slowly clenched his fists.
This opponent was far more troublesome than he had expected.
Still, there was one thing that gave him some hope.
When he had fought Silen, the Tower had given him a survival objective.
That alone had told Kael something important.
The Tower didn’t believe Silen was an opponent he could defeat, so his objective had simply been to survive.
But this time?
The Tower hadn’t asked him to survive.
It had given him one objective.
Defeat Ghorrath.
Kael stared at the towering corpse construct.
Perhaps this thing wasn’t as overwhelmingly powerful as it appeared.
Or perhaps the Tower believed he had what it took to kill it.
Either way, there was only one way to find out.
Kael slowly lowered his stance.
A faint smile appeared beneath his helmet.
"Alright."
His eyes sharpened.
"Let’s see what you’ve got."
