A custom-refined Rank One drug, huh?
After finishing dinner, Jackson returned to his room and contemplated the conversation he had with his mother a few minutes earlier.
Little Aella did not need just any random nutritional liquid. What she needed was a custom-refined Rank One drug that perfectly complemented the body-refining technique taught at her dojo.
This was a problem.
Thinking up to this point, Jackson fell deep into thought. If it had been a normal basic body-strengthening drug or even slightly better Rank One pills, he could have simply bought them and given them to Aella.
But things had changed.
"It seems I can only do this..."
With that thought in mind, he sent a message to the only alchemist he knew.
Thankfully, he had built a good relationship with Alchemist Dawn over the past few days. If not for that, he would have been in a very uncomfortable spot.
After sending the message, Jackson did not wait for a reply and simply closed his eyes, preparing to meditate deep into the night.
However, barely a breath of time had passed when the hunter license vibrated, forcing Jackson to open his eyes with a surprised look on his face.
He had turned off notifications for everyone except Alchemist Dawn, so the fact that the hunter license vibrated could only mean one thing.
But how long had it even been since he sent the message?
Feeling increasingly confused, he opened the message, and to his astonishment, it was indeed Alchemist Dawn on the other side.
"Only Rank One low-grade pills? No big deal. Just send me the ingredients and I’ll refine them for you."
Jackson read through the message, and a smile appeared on his face.
His thoughts surged. He had a feeling Alchemist Dawn had finally succeeded in becoming a Rank Two alchemist.
Realizing this, his mood turned slightly complicated. Of course, he felt happy for the man, but at the same time he had a feeling he might forget about getting such an easy supply of failed pills.
Still, that was only a brief thought, and soon his mood returned to normal.
He quickly typed his thanks and also offered his congratulations.
He was about to close the messaging window and move to purchase all the ingredients when suddenly Alchemist Dawn sent another message.
Jackson’s eyebrows shot up in surprise.
Could it be that Alchemist Dawn had changed his mind?
However, after reading through the message, it seemed he had been thinking too much.
"Are you still interested in purchasing those pills?"
"Of course I am."
Jackson replied without even blinking.
Those failed pills were his lifeline. How could he not be interested in buying them?
After a brief back-and-forth conversation, Jackson agreed to purchase all the failed pills for five hundred mana stones.
A win, in his opinion.
After closing the communication channel, he once again closed his eyes.
...
Meanwhile, somewhere else, Alchemist Dawn let out a sigh of relief when he saw the confirmation from Bitter Rain.
The next moment, he could not help but mutter to himself,
"He doesn’t look like the arrogant type at all..."
By now, the outside news had already reached Alchemist Dawn’s ears.
He had heard of the super genius who had defeated Alexander Drag in one move. Naturally, he had also been curious about such a talent.
However, he had never expected that the man he had once labeled as nothing but ignorant was actually the same super genius who had caused all those waves outside.
To think he had misjudged such a figure.
Alchemist Dawn felt as though he had been slapped right across the face.
The next moment, however, he felt glad that he had kept those thoughts to himself and had never said them out loud.
He decided that he would make it up to Bitter Rain if he got the chance in the future, so when he had suddenly received Bitter Rain’s message today, he immediately agreed to the request and even sold the large batch of failed pills to him.
Of course, he did not think too much about what Bitter Rain was going to do with the failed pills.
He already knew about Jackson’s store selling pills, so according to Alchemist Dawn, he most likely purchased them to extract any leftover ingredients.
Alchemist Dawn gradually calmed down after thinking through all these things.
The next moment, however, his face turned slightly annoyed as he felt a foreign presence approaching closer.
"Not again... how many times do I have to say it? I don’t want to meet anyone."
Ever since the news of his successful promotion to Rank Two had spread, there had been countless guild representatives coming every day to recruit him, annoying him to death.
...
At the branch of the Black Rose Hunting Organization, one of humanity’s strongest forces, vast wealth could be seen everywhere.
Just by looking at the building, one could understand their status.
The entire structure had been constructed from pure mana-infused iron ore, a metal known to increase the concentration of mana. Since the whole building was made from such material, the concentration of mana inside was three times greater than outside.
Without even using precious drugs, a single meditative session here could yield three times the result of anywhere else.
Meanwhile, in one of the rooms, Grace White sat dressed in ocean-blue training clothes, her long hair tied in a ponytail, her chest rising and falling with each breath as she meditated deeply.
Compared to the day of awakening, Grace’s bearing had undergone transformative changes.
If before she had radiated the aura of a confident youth, now her figure carried a trace of arrogance.
Just then, her eyes sprang open, revealing two deep pupils.
Feeling the benefits she had gained from just one meditative session, she could not help but think to herself,
"The environment here is thousands of times better than outside. In just a few days, my spiritual force has tripled..."
Thinking of all this, Grace could not help but feel pleased with her decision to join the Black Rose Hunting Organization.
If she had not joined, she might still be stuck in the early First Sequence realm, with her spiritual force hovering around one.
