SSS Talent: My Undead Evolve Without Limits
Chapter 111: Mutual DestructionAs the command left Malrik’s lips, he did not wait a single second.
He retreated backward with blinding speed, using one of Fenrir’s abilities, Shadow Step, moving through the shadows and flashing several meters away from the center of the battlefield in an instant.
Even though his stats were doubled thanks to Lokris, and despite the formidable aura enveloping him, he was acutely aware that he was still only at the Awakened rank.
In a battle between Fallen-rank entities exchanging blows capable of erasing terrain, a mere stray shockwave would be enough to crush him into dust.
Why should a necromancer like him linger in the frontlines when his undead could do the fighting for him?
The instant Malrik retreated, the five spirits surged forward in a terrifying joint assault.
It was no mindless charge, but an immediate tactical execution commanded by Malrik to interrupt the energy siphon Vorgath was conducting.
SWOOOOSH!
First to move was Winter.
Winter raised his arm toward the heavens. Within seconds, the atmospheric temperature plunged below freezing. Dozens of massive ice spears coalesced in the air behind him, forming an airborne artillery unit.
These were no ordinary icicles; they burned with a harsh blue radiance infused with the dark-emerald glow of Reaper’s Blessing. They created a dazzling visual display that completely blanketed the sky above Vorgath.
BAM!
Lady Mushroom slammed her magic staff violently against the earth.
Dense emerald energy surged into the depths of the soil, sprouting glowing spores and parasitic vines beneath Vorgath’s boots that bound his roots, attempting to lock his feet in place and deny him any room to maneuver or dodge.
At the same time, small fungal creatures burst from the ground, scrambling wildly toward Vorgath while cackling maniacally.
Leading the frontal charge were Biggie and Zarvok.
The blue mana radiating from Biggie’s body and the markings etched across his chest fused with the emerald mana, weaving into a lethal, beautiful azure aura.
Overdrive activated fully within his frame. Amplified by Tyrant’s Command, his combat efficiency skyrocketed to unprecedented heights.
The markings across his hide blazed with scorching emerald light. Utilizing the Law of Momentum, he nullified his weight in a fraction of a second and propelled himself forward like an unstoppable black missile.
Simultaneously, Zarvok unleashed a massive torrent of devouring volcanic magma from the other flank, converting the ground beneath Vorgath into a boiling sea that encircled him on all sides.
Meanwhile, Varkhane spread his massive grey wings and shot into the sky like an arrow, tearing through the air at speeds he had never achieved before.
His original grey aura fused with the dark-emerald light of Malrik’s blessing, trailing a massive, dark fiery comet tail behind his silhouette.
Instead of swooping down on Vorgath, he rocketed straight up to an altitude of a hundred meters, homing in on the open crimson eye at the center of the inverted crown!
Vorgath’s eyes widened. He felt the suffocating pressure bearing down on him from every direction.
"Scum!"
Vorgath roared, his voice like a grinding earthquake.
Though his transformation remained incomplete and the siphoned soul energy still flooded into his frame, he was far from a simple opponent.
Raising his broadsword wrapped in dense crimson mana, he unleashed a massive sweeping strike to shred the parasitic plants sprouting beneath his feet.
CRACK!
At that exact moment, Winter gave the signal.
Dozens of ice spears plummeted from the heavens all at once!
They whistled violently as they ripped through the air, trailing streaks of frozen steam and emerald radiance. The battlefield was bombarded with sharp spears the size of tree trunks.
Vorgath swung his broadsword with terrifying speed, cleaving the leading spears mid-air.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The ice spears detonated upon impact against his sword and armor, releasing freezing shockwaves and diamond-hard shards.
The combination of ice and emerald mana partially shattered the crimson mana shield enveloping Vorgath, forcing him a step back under the relentless magical barrage.
Then, the laughing mushroom creatures had already reached him.
They lunged forward, clinging tightly to Vorgath’s legs.
BOOOOOM!
The fungal creatures detonated themselves instantly, releasing toxic green flames that engulfed Vorgath’s massive frame completely.
Vorgath emerged from the explosion, parts of his body scorched, but before he could regain his footing, Biggie surged toward him with his twin axes.
Biggie flew low to the ground, utilizing his newly acquired skill post-evolution, [Starfall Force], to compress gravity directly ahead of Vorgath .
The accumulated kinetic energy in Biggie’s frame defied physics itself; he was untouched by the ice spray or the searing lava.
Raising his twin axes glowing with emerald and blue light, Biggie delivered a brutal cross-strike toward Vorgath’s chest.
"Take this, you bastard!" Biggie roared.
Vorgath summoned all his physical strength, bringing his broadsword up horizontally to absorb the impact.
CLAAAAANG!
The ground beneath Vorgath exploded instantly, caving in to form a crater four meters deep. Rocks and lava blasted in every direction as a kinetic shockwave flattened charred trees hundreds of meters away.
Due to the siphoning process being interrupted midway, Vorgath’s body suffered a violent backlash from the accumulated power. His muscles locked, and blood trickled from the corners of his mouth under the unnatural strain.
Vorgath attempted to shove Biggie’s axes away and unleash his crimson energy to blow him back, but under the simultaneous onslaught of four Fallen-rank spirits empowered by Reaper’s Blessing, it was nearly impossible.
From the right flank, the sea of magma poured by Zarvok arrived.
The molten lava surged directly into the crater, devouring Vorgath’s legs and lower armor.
The volcanic heat began melting his hide and hard scales, releasing a suffocating stench of burning flesh.
Meanwhile, at the highest point in the sky...Varkhane had reached his target.
Dark grey and emerald mana condensed around his wings and blade. Varkhane transformed in mid-air into a giant wing of mana, spinning into a steep dive at top speed directly toward the open crimson eye at the center of the inverted crown!
STAB!
Varkhane’s blade pierced straight through the center of the crimson eye!
SCHRIIIIEEEEEEEK!
A sharp, nightmarish shriek erupted from the open crimson eye—an unearthly sound that reverberated throughout the entire forest.
The rapid rotation of the inverted crown jerked to a sudden halt. The crimson aura threads being devoured from the Morveth souls snapped, and the colossal crown trembled in the sky before its sharp edges began to fracture!
The sudden influx of power was cut off at the worst possible moment. Vorgath felt his body shudder as his crimson aura—which had been escalating at a terrifying rate—halted and fluctuated violently from the severed feed.
"Damn you... damn you all!" Vorgath screamed, his eyes wild with fury.
Before he could recover from the power backlash, the five spirits struck together in perfect synchronization.
Lady Mushroom struck her staff once more, unleashing a toxic wave of fiery spores that detonated in Vorgath’s face, completely blinding him.
Taking advantage of the distraction, Winter launched an enormous ice spear—larger than any she had summoned before.
The spear impaled Vorgath’s left shoulder, pinning him against the wall of the crater.
Simultaneously, Zarvok surged from the side through the smoke plume, breathing an intense beam of volcanic magma directly into Vorgath’s exposed chest, melting what remained of his scales and armor.
From above, Varkhane dived with lightning speed after shattering the crown, his sword coated in a dense grey and emerald aura.
In an instant, he hurled the blade like a javelin with all his strength. The sword flew like a devastating projectile and impaled Vorgath’s chest, planting itself straight into his heart.
At the epicenter of destruction, Biggie reset his momentum.
Gravity condensed around Biggie’s axes to the maximum limit as he activated one of his post-evolution skills, pushing his physical power to a new realm.
Exploiting Vorgath’s vulnerable state, he delivered an upper-cut strike with all his accumulated momentum and multiplied strength, aiming straight for the stunned commander’s jaw!
BOOOOOOOOOOM!
The axe slammed into Vorgath’s jaw with full force. The impact shattered his balance and launched his massive frame violently out of the crater, ripping him from his position despite the spear pinning his shoulder and the sword lodged in his heart.
Crimson blood splattered across the scorched earth as the colossal inverted crown in the sky shattered and collapsed entirely!
Vorgath slammed hard onto the ground, tumbling several meters through charred tree debris and scorched earth. His body was covered in blood, his arm paralyzed, and dark smoke billowed from his wounds.
Yet despite all the devastation, his eyes held no trace of defeat... only a murderous madness and an absolute desire for destruction.
Wiping the crimson blood streaming from his mouth, Vorgath fixed his bloodshot glare on the five spirits surrounding him.
"If this is my end..." Vorgath rasped, his voice trembling the forest, "then none of you leave alive! I’m taking you all with me!"
Suddenly, a new inverted crown materialized in the air, hovering directly above Vorgath’s head.
It was not as massive as the previous one, but the energy radiating from it was vastly denser and heavier, making the surrounding air feel suffocating.
At the center of the crown, the crimson eye snapped open—yet this time, it did not look out toward the horizon.
The pupil of the crimson eye rolled completely downward, locking its gaze directly onto Vorgath himself!
The eye seemed to devour Vorgath’s essence and every remaining drop of mana in his soul with ravenous fury, as if knowing no limit to what it could consume.
In that instant, Vorgath’s entire body blazed with a terrifying crimson aura. His scales began to crack, emitting blinding red light, while his frame swelled unnaturally like an energy bomb on the verge of detonation.
Through his soul bond with the spirits, Malrik immediately realized what was happening.
His eyes dilated behind his silver mask as he felt the explosive pressure of the surging mana, still retreating from the battlefield via Shadow Step: "Everyone... fall back immediately!"
But it was too late.
The crimson aura expanded to nightmarish proportions, the air burning with stifling heat, and then...
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
Everything exploded at once.
A titanic wave of fire swept across the forest, devouring trees and earth within seconds.
Its radius of destruction expanded across more than three kilometers, while a colossal pillar of flame and smoke erupted into the heavens, illuminating the night sky like a second sun.
