Starting With an SSS-Rank Goddess Summon!
Chapter 472: Warehouse Building [II]Left standing in the snow, Thora blinked rapidly.
Her calloused fingers slowly rose to touch her lips, her ears twitching as a brilliant fiery blush spread from the tips of her ears down to her collarbone, out-shining the alcohol flush.
An amused grin cracked across her soot-stained face.
’By the stone...’ Thora thought, her heart hammering against her ribs like a hydraulic forge hammer. ’What a smooth-talking criminal... He knows exactly how to handle a stubborn woman.’
This was one of the many reasons she wanted to be bred by her Lord.
"Oi! Wait for me, you cheeky bastard!" Thora yelled, breaking into a brisk rolling jog.
She caught up to his long strides in seconds.
Without asking for permission, Thora leaped upward with surprising dwarven agility, grabbing the thick fabric of his robes and scrambling up his back like a squirrel scaling a sturdy pine tree.
She hauled herself up, planting her boots securely on his broad shoulders and sitting comfortably atop his collar, casually resting her elbows on top of his dark head.
Silas didn’t even break stride as his physical constitution carried her dense dwarven weight as if she were made of dry leaves... as usal.
"Carry your master builder, Lord Silas!" Thora cackled into his hair. "If I’m missing out on my ale, my boots aren’t touching the slush!"
"Fair enough," Silas chuckled, his boots crunching steadily through the snow.
Together, they moved deeper into the western quadrant of Blessed Land.
They passed the glowing doors of the Library, where the silhouette of some girls could be seen reading.
They navigated past the sprawling Multi-Room Apartments that Silas had constructed during the previous expansion phase to house the girls.
Finally, they arrived at a wide vacant expanse of flat ground situated barely fifty yards from the towering black obsidian walls that formed the primary boundary of the territory.
The ground here was shielded from the worst of the wind by the height of the outer fortifications, and the earth mana from the nearby Spirit Tree roots kept the soil relatively stable.
Silas came to a halt, letting out a small breath.
"This should be a good place to put a warehouse, shouldn’t it?" Silas asked, looking out over the open, empty field. "It has direct wide-road access to the primary gates, so when the Phase 2 Golems return from Sector KB-22 and the other mines loaded with raw ore, they won’t have to navigate through the residential side or crowd the forge entrance."
From her perch on his shoulders, Thora leaned forward, her sharp dwarven eyes scanning the topography, measuring the drainage angles and the distance to the outer walls with innate instinctual precision.
"Aye," Thora nodded, knocking her knuckles approvingly against his skull. "Good ground with solid bedrock sitting barely four feet below the topsoil. It won’t sink under the weight of three thousand tons of unrefined ores and Mana Diamonds so drop the foundation here, my Lord."
Silas took a deep centering breath.
He closed his eyes, extending his consciousness into the reality of the territory.
In his chest, his Gold Core hummed with a deep melodic vibration, connecting his soul directly to the authority of the Lord Interface.
’Open Interface... Build Tab.’
VUUUUUUUUUM.
A wash of brilliant condensed azure energy rippled outward from Silas’s frame, lightly rustling the hem of his dark robes and casting a vibrant digital reflection across the snow.
Before his eyes, the clean holographic displays of the System appeared.
He navigated through his personal inventory, his thoughts zeroing in on the newly acquired reward from the Hidden Mission.
’Select: Basic Logistics Warehouse Blueprint...’
PZZZZT-FLASH!
Instantly, the system window expanded, accompanied by a massive, semi-translucent 3D wireframe diagram that projected directly onto the snowy field before them.
The glowing blue wireframe stood forty feet tall and over eighty feet wide.
It was an intricate rotating holographic skeleton of the proposed structure, showcasing the structural load-bearing beams, the thick perimeter foundation, the high-clearance timber trusses, and the wide double-bay entry doors designed specifically for heavy transport.
Silas raised his right hand, his fingers smoothly manipulating the holographic projection in mid-air.
With subtle gestures, he rotated the wireframe thirty degrees to the east, aligning the primary loading bay perfectly with the main cobblestone transit road.
"Oho!" Thora gasped from his shoulders, leaning down so far her cheek brushed against his cheek as she stared at the glowing blue lines. "Look at that modular grid! The timber truss distribution is bloody brilliant! Who needs paper and ink when you can paint the bones of a building right onto the dirt? That is remarkably clean engineering, my Lord!"
As Silas locked the orientation into place, the text of the System prompt crystallized before him.
[Unlocked Blueprint:] Basic Logistics Warehouse - Tier 1
[Type:] Logistics / Storage Facility
[Materials Required:] 300 Refined Stone, 400 Lumber, 50 Tempered Iron.
[Description:] A standard dry-storage facility designed to store raw ores, building materials, and non-perishable resources safely out of the elements. Features reinforced stone perimeter walls to deter pests, heavy timber pallet racking for modular stacking, and an iron-bolted double door wide enough for small transport carts. Reduces resource degradation caused by extreme weather and frees up space in primary production hubs.
Silas studied the parameters, his analytical mind thoroughly satisfied.
’It’s a remarkably solid baseline,’ Silas evaluated. ’For a Tier 1 structure, it addresses every immediate logistical bottleneck we need... There are no advanced magical arrays or expansion fields yet, but that doesn’t matter in the slightest. The moment the physical frame settles, I’m dumping raw UP straight into the Upgrade System to elevate it directly to Tier 3.’
He glanced toward the horizon, where the lights of the guest house flickered in the blizzard.
’There’s still some time before I can comfortably upgrade the new recruits with UP,’ Silas mused carefully. ’Evelyn and the rest of the girls from the Unmovable Wall are still residing in the Keep and the Princess is observing everything with those sharp royal eyes... I need to wait until their visit concludes and they depart Blessed Land before I start triggering mass evolutions. The fewer prying eyes watching my core mechanics, the better...’
Silas lowered his gaze back to the glowing blue interface, checking the live inventory ledger.
[Refined Stone:] [Available] / 300 (Ready)
[Lumber:] [Available] / 400 (Ready)
[Tempered Iron:] [Available] / 50 (Ready)
[Would you like to build?]
[Y / N]
Silas looked at the green, glowing "Ready" markers and let out a soft dry chuckle.
’Thanks Ev...’
Earlier that evening, before Thor had awakened and before he had descended to the living room, he had gone back to Evelyn.
Between her bouts of inhaling chocolate cake and threatening to kick him in the groin, he had successfully leveraged their territorial trade agreement to borrow the necessary deficit of Refined Stone and Tempered Iron directly from her storage rings.
’A Lord borrowing raw iron from his ally just to erect a wooden shed,’ Silas thought with a small sigh slipping past his lips. ’We really need to start producing and refining these foundational materials on our own.’
He raised his eyes to the towering blue wireframe hovering over the snow as his mind locked onto the glowing prompt.
’Build!’
FWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH!
The atmospheric pressure violently ruptured as the glowing 3D wireframe, hovering ten feet above the earth, suddenly dropped like a lead weight, slamming into the frozen ground with a deafening concussive sound.
The moment the blueprint touched the soil, the digital blue lines violently flared with blinding golden light.
The snow covering the eighty-foot expanse was instantly displaced, blasted outward in a perfect, circular shockwave of pressurized air that whipped Silas’s dark robes violently around his legs.
KRRRRRR-CRUNCH!
Raw matter began pouring in from the ether, manifesting out of thin air in a terrifying beautiful display of territorial creation magic.
Massive rectangular blocks of dense grey Refined Stone materialized out of golden spatial fissures, slamming into the earth with earth-shaking impacts.
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
The foundation laid itself in seconds, interlocking with microscopic precision to form a seamless moisture-proof slab.
Immediately following the stone, colossal beams of cured heavy Lumber dropped from the sky, pivoting on invisible axes and slotting into the mortise-and-tenon joints with deafening, hydraulic snaps.
THWACK-THWACK-THWACK!
Iron brackets, glowing cherry-red with residual friction, manifested along the stress points, bolting the massive timber trusses together.
The high-clearance roof assembled itself at breakneck speed, heavy slate shingles sliding across the rafters and locking down against the howling blizzard.
Finally, two colossal iron-banded double doors slammed shut at the primary loading bay with the heavy master latch dropping into place with a definitive sound.
CLACK!
The blinding golden light rapidly retracted, sinking into the newly forged walls.
The wind howled, swirling a fresh dusting of white snow against the dark, imposing stone base of the completed facility as standing eighty feet wide, forty feet tall, and solid as a mountain fortress, the Tier 1 Basic Logistics Warehouse stood proudly against the winter storm.
Silence returned to the western wall.
Sitting atop Silas’s broad shoulders, her jaw slack and her soot-stained hands still resting dumbly against his dark hair, Thora stared at the fully materialized building.
Her breath puffed out in a single stunned cloud of vapor.
"...Woah."
The winter wind shrieked against the towering obsidian perimeter of Blessed Land, whipping plumes of dry powdery snow across the dark cobblestone pathways.
Silas stood with his boots planted firmly in the slush, the dark fabric of his cultivator-style robes snapping rhythmically against his calves.
On his shoulders, Thora remained perched like an oversized gargoyle, her soot-stained hands resting comfortably on his dark hair while her eyes were wide with awe.
"By the stone..." Thora breathed again, her voice full of of genuine disbelief as she stared at the newly materialized Tier 1 structure. "Everytime Lord Silas... Every single time I see this, it never fails to send a chill down my spine. Watching timber and granite knit together out of thin air like living bone... it’s bloody unnatural. Beautiful, but unnatural as hell."
Silas let out a quiet amused breath that misted into the freezing air as a smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth.
He had summoned strong women and brought structures into reality with a mere flick of his wrist, yet the effortless magic of territorial creation was something he would never truly get used to.
’Haah...’
It was staggering how easily the world bent to a Lord’s command when the resources were paid in full but Silas was not a man to let early success cloud his vision.
A simple dry-storage shed made of pine trusses and standard iron bolts was fine for a frontier outpost, but Blessed Land was rapidly evolving into an empire...
’A simple wooden warehouse isn’t going to cut it,’ Silas thought, his blue eyes narrowing with quiet ambition. ’Not when we’re about to crack open all the mines we can and pull a lot of ores from the earth so we still have to upgrade it.’
"It’s decent enough for a baseline," Silas said aloud, reaching up to tap Thora’s steel-toed boot where it rested near his collarbone. "Keeps the snow off the timber and gives the carts a roof but it’s raw and unfinished."
Thora snorted, leaning forward so heavily that her leather apron pressed against the back of his head.
"Decent? Lad, that timber is cured cedar and the mortar is set tighter than a dwarven vault! What do you mean, ’unfinished’?"
"I mean," Silas chuckled, "it can be far better than this... Much better."
Thora paused, and then a wide, knowing grin spread across her soot-streaked cheeks.
Her amber eyes gleamed with raw greed for high-tier craftsmanship.
She had witnessed the miracle of the Beast Pavilion’s transformation from a distance... she knew the terrifying ungodly power her Lord possessed when it came to reshaping reality.
"Right then," Thora murmured, crossing her muscular arms over her chest and settling back into her perch. "Show me what your strange gods have in store, Lord Silas. Let’s see this ’better.’"
Silas took a slow centering breath.
He closed his eyes for a fraction of a second, his consciousness diving inward, brushing past the raging furnace of his Mythic Gold Core.
’System~ Let’s get to upgrading~’
VUUUUUUUUUM!
A wash of pale azure light rippled outward from his chest, illuminating the falling snow like a cloud of glowing blue fireflies.
Silas opened his eyes as the familiar semi-translucent holographic glass materialized before him, hovering silently against the backdrop of the wooden warehouse.
’It shouldn’t be too costly...’ Silas mused inwardly, his fingers twitching slightly as he prepared to navigate the prompts. ’Skipping a tier always stings, but with the UP reserves we’ve banked from clearing the goblins and subduing the basin monsters, we have plenty of room to breathe.’
The interface shifted, the text sharpening into crystal-clear focus.
[Logistics Warehouse]
[Tier: 1 Construct (Common)]
[Durability: 500 / 500]
[Status: Operational.]
[Upgrade System: Would you like to upgrade Tier 1 Basic Logistics Warehouse directly to Tier 3 Sovereign Distribution Nexus?]
[Cost: 320 UP]
[Y / N]
Silas stared at the glowing blue letters floating in the freezing air, his eyebrows climbing toward his hairline.
For a second, the composure of the Lord cracked, and a strangled breathless chuckle slipped past his teeth.
