"So now you understand why strengthening the Core is necessary? My presence must have sent out a warning signal, and it will not be long before they respond in kind." Kyle spoke as he waved a hand.

At once, several objects materialized upon the table.

Pots and dishes appeared one after another, carrying everything from fragrant curry and rice to pasta and fresh salad. He had summoned far more than they could possibly need, remembering that the two women had eaten little more than a small snack earlier.

Amanda and Veronica were immediately drawn to the food, though neither reached for anything at once.

"Won’t you eat with us?" Veronica asked, her gaze settling on Kyle.

"You two start. I’m not hungry."

Amanda let out a weary groan. "But I wanted to be fed, you know. I’m too tired to even move."

Kyle could only look at her helplessly before giving in. He served some rice onto a plate, added a generous portion of potato chicken curry, then picked up a spoon and brought a bite toward her.

Amanda’s face lit up.

With a delighted grin, she accepted his kindness and began chewing contentedly, her eyes falling shut as a soft hum of satisfaction escaped her.

Kyle watched her for a moment before turning toward Veronica. He uncovered another pot.

"There are salted buns here. Just the way you like them."

Veronica’s cheeks warmed instantly.

So he does remember everything, huh?

She reached for one slowly, dipped it into the fragrant broth, and savored the rich flavor before taking another bite.

Before long, both women became completely engrossed in their meal.

Their hunger had already been stirred by the small snack they had eaten earlier, but the conversation that followed had been enough to distract them from it. Now, with something genuinely delicious before them, their bodies seemed determined to remind them of just how badly they had needed a proper meal.

"So, Kyle... when are we leaving? And have you decided whether you’re going to move away from Montclair?"

Amanda asked between bites.

There was a trace of worry in her voice.

Once Kyle stepped out of the Temple, he would be surrounded by people and questions. Those who wanted to condemn him would inevitably bring up Ava and Mathew. Those who sought to use him would rush to his defense, each with their own motives.

Regardless of which side they came from, one thing was certain.

Kyle would remain under the world’s scrutiny for a very long time.

Kyle fell silent for a moment, contemplating the question before finally muttering, "Only after I erase myself from the memories of everyone around the world."

"Huh?"

"What?"

Both women stopped eating at once, their attention snapping toward him in utter disbelief.

"What do you mean by that?!" Amanda demanded, her eyes widening.

Kyle immediately noticed her concern and calmly clarified, "I’m going to erase the memories of the existence known as Kyle. Except for the two of you, no one will remember me. My past, my present, everything about me will simply... be forgotten."

Veronica’s brows furrowed. "You can do that?"

Kyle nodded.

"As of now, yes. But once I leave this Temple, I won’t be able to."

The absurdity of his claim should have made them question whether he was serious.

Yet somehow, neither of them doubted him.

Perhaps they had already witnessed too many impossible things from Kyle to dismiss anything he said as absurd.

And that realization was unsettling in its own way.

Amanda hesitated before asking, "What about Brother Blake?"

Kyle fell silent.

He had expected the question, yet even so, he needed a moment to gather his thoughts before answering.

"I believe it’s for the best that he doesn’t remember me."

He intertwined his fingers on the table and lowered his gaze.

"Blake already has more than enough responsibilities to deal with. If he tried to protect me from the murder charges, the Ten Petal Council wouldn’t simply strip Astortia of its position. They would make Blake’s life a living hell."

Neither woman could deny it.

The Ten Petal clans were ruthless enough to go that far, especially if it meant finally removing the one clan they believed had no right to retain its position.

"But you love him, Kyle."

Amanda’s voice softened.

"I know you’re worried about him, but Brother Blake has always had your back. He never once hesitated to help you or stand by your side. He deserves to remember you, Kyle."

She couldn’t bring herself to accept the thought of the two brothers suddenly becoming strangers.

Kyle might have been willing to erase himself from Blake’s memories to protect him, but that did not make the choice any less cruel.

It would be just as unfair to Blake as it would be to Kyle.

Kyle remained silent for a moment before finally muttering, "I’d be nothing but a burden to him. You don’t understand how difficult it would be for us to remain in the same place peacefully for even a day."

Veronica nodded slowly. "I realize that. But, Kyle, you need your family if you want to call this a life. You can’t spend the rest of your existence alone. So... please, find a way."

Kyle exhaled softly and nodded.

"I hear you. But I can’t promise anything. My priority is still erasing myself from the world’s history. I need to start anew and help humanity survive until..."

His voice trailed off.

He fell silent.

Veronica and Amanda exchanged a brief glance before Amanda finally asked, "Until what?"

Kyle shook his head.

"Nothing. I’ll tell you when the time comes."

He soon rose to his feet.

Turning toward Ethan, he said, "You’ll return outside tonight. Stay hidden somewhere until I tell you to come out. I’ve already shared the necessary memories with you, so act as you’re supposed to."

The man immediately bowed his head in silent obedience.

Amanda’s brows furrowed.

"Wait. You’re setting him free?"

Kyle nodded.

"Yes. He’s more useful to me outside than he is here."

He paused, then narrowed his eyes.

"And don’t worry. He’s no longer capable of having thoughts of his own, let alone conspiring against me."
