Stripping For My Devil Ex Husband
Chapter 99: The Devil’s Obsessive FantasyThe next morning, the grand dining hall of the Sterling estate was filled with a thick, heavy tension... though only one person was actively fuming.
Ana stormed into the dining room, her slippers slapping loudly against the polished marble floor. She threw herself into the chair opposite Damian, practically vibrating with fury.
Damian sat calmly at the head of the long mahogany table, immaculate as always in a tailored charcoal suit, leisurely sipping his black coffee while reviewing financial reports on his tablet.
He didn’t even flinch when Ana pulled her plate of poached eggs toward her with unnecessary, aggressive force, her fork scraping loudly against the fine china.
"Sartorial nightmare," Ana muttered under her breath, violently stabbing a piece of toast. "Arrogant, manipulative, possessive bastard..."
Damian set his coffee cup down with a soft, deliberate click. He leaned back in his chair, his dark eyes sparkling with a rare, quiet amusement as he watched her.
Truth be told, seeing her like this... furious, stomping around, cheeks flushed, and eyes ablaze with life... was infinitely better than the quiet, hollow shell she had been after her family betrayed her.
It was wildly entertaining to watch her drop all her polite filters just to hurl curses at him under her breath.
Beside her plate sat a small silver tray holding a glass of water and the morning-after pill Walter had discreetly delivered ten minutes earlier.
Ana glared at the small white tablet, then shot Damian a glare that could melt steel. Without breaking eye contact, she picked up the pill, popped it into her mouth, and took a long, dramatic gulp of water, swallowing it down right in front of him.
Damian’s lips twitched upward into a subtle, devastatingly handsome smirk.
"You know, Anastasia," Damian remarked, his baritone smooth, deep, and infuriatingly calm, "you really shouldn’t frown like that. It ruins your morning glow."
Ana’s fork froze halfway to her mouth. She stared at him, her dark eyes widening in utter disbelief. "My what?"
"Your glow," Damian repeated, his dark eyes dancing with wicked humor as he gestured vaguely toward her flushed, angry face. "You look remarkably radiant today. Slave life clearly agrees with you."
"Slave...!" Ana slammed her fork onto the table, nearly knocking over her glass. "You are completely unhinged! You lie, you break every boundary, you practically trap me in your bed, and then you sit there eating fruit like a civilized human being making jokes about a glow?!"
"I’m merely stating facts, doll," Damian murmured, taking a slow, relaxed bite of his apple while holding her fiery gaze.
"I hate you," Ana hissed, pushing her chair back so hard it screeched against the floor. "I hope your coffee is cold."
"It’s piping hot, actually," Damian replied smoothly as she turned on her heel and stomped out of the dining hall, her angry footsteps echoing all the way down the long corridor.
As the doors closed behind her, the smirk slowly faded from Damian’s face, replaced by a quiet, contemplative warmth. He took another sip of his coffee, his dark gaze lingering on the empty chair she had just vacated.

The sleek, private elevator rose silently toward the top floors of the Sterling Global skyscraper.
Anastasia stood near the control panel, staring straight ahead at her reflection, her arms crossed over her chest. Beside her, Damian stood tall and unyielding, his heavy, suffocating aura filling the small space.
"From now on," Damian’s baritone cut through the quiet hum of the lift, low and uncompromising, "I am going to watch your every movement very closely."
Ana turned her head, looking at him with a mix of confusion and irritation. "Excuse me?"
"You heard me, Anastasia," Damian murmured, his dark eyes fixed on her.
"I don’t know what kind of obsessive fantasy you’re living in today, Damian," Ana replied sharply, rolling her eyes as she turned back to the doors. "But I have work to do, and I’d appreciate it if you saved your dramatic warnings for your board members."
When the elevator slowed and the doors slid open at her usual floor, Ana stepped forward to exit... only for a heavy, dark-clad arm to shoot out, wrapping firmly around her waist and pulling her back against his chest.
"This isn’t your floor, doll," Damian murmured against her ear.
Ana gasped, her back pressed flush against his broad torso as the doors slid shut again and the lift continued climbing.
She turned around in his grip, glaring up at him with fiery confusion. "What is going on in that devilish head of yours? What games are you playing now?!"
Damian didn’t release her immediately. His dark gaze locked onto hers, burning with an intense, unyielding gravity that made her breath hitch.
"This isn’t a game to me, Anastasia," Damian spoke, his tone dropping into a cold, protective rumble. "This is for your safety. Being by my side makes you an active target. As long as you are close to me... no one will even think of touching you."
Before she could process his words, the elevator smoothly came to a halt on the fifty-fourth floor... just one floor below Damian’s private executive suite.
The doors slid open, revealing a completely transformed environment.
True to Damian’s unyielding obsession with keeping her close, the entire Marketing and Brand Strategy department had been relocated overnight directly beneath his office.
The floor was transformed into a fortress. Sleek facial-recognition scanners and biometric ID turnstiles had been installed at every entryway, enforcing a strict zero-tolerance policy. No one... regardless of rank... was permitted on the floor without a verified, high-level clearance badge.
Inside, the atmosphere was thick with quiet tension.
Clara stood in the center of the main open-plan workspace, her hands clasped behind her back as the entire team gathered around her.
"I know the sudden relocation and tightened security protocols seem intense," Clara announced, her voice crisp, professional, and carrying a quiet authority that silenced the room. "In light of the recent high-level data leak and corporate espionage attempt tied to Sterling Global’s strategies, senior executive leadership has completely overhauled our infrastructure. From this moment on, no unverified devices or non-cleared personnel will step foot on this floor. We are locking down our intellectual property, and we are moving forward with clean hands."
As Clara finished her briefing and the team began dispersing back to their desks, Marcus stepped out from the main conference room.
He held a warm cup of coffee, his eyes softening the second he spotted Ana standing by her new desk, adjusting her laptop and setting up her workstation with quiet determination.
Marcus walked over, leaning casually against the edge of her cubicle partition. "Hey," he greeted softly, offering her a small, supportive smile. "Are you feeling better now?"
Ana looked up, meeting his eyes, and offered a gentle, genuine nod. "I am, Marcus. Thanks."
In truth, her heart was still recovering from the whirlwind of her family’s public collapse and Damian’s overwhelming possessiveness. But standing here, in the corporate world, a quiet fire burned inside her.
She didn’t want to be viewed as the fragile victim, the broken Vance daughter, or just the boss’s wife. She wanted to earn everyone’s trust back. She wanted to prove to the entire department... and to herself... that she was more than capable of handling major projects, carrying real responsibility, and standing on her own two feet.
Marcus studied the quiet resolve in her dark eyes, nodding understandingly.
"It’s going to take some time for the air to completely clear around here, Ana," Marcus said softly, his tone encouraging and completely devoid of judgment. "Corporate espionage leaves people jumpy. But for what it’s worth... I know who you are, and I know how hard you work. I’ll support you as much as I can."
Ana felt a sudden, genuine warmth touch her chest, smoothing away the cold edge of her morning. "Thank you, Marcus. That really means a lot."
High above them, behind the one-way mirrored glass of his fifty-fifth-floor office balcony, Damian stood in absolute silence.
His coat was unbuttoned, his hands thrust deep into his trouser pockets as his obsidian eyes burned downward through the glass, locking directly onto the quiet interaction between Marcus and Anastasia.
