He was a man who walked the line between righteous and evil.
For the right price, he would kill anyone.
"Oh?"
A playful smile touched Gongsun Jin’s lips, but his eyes were utterly cold.
"I’m surprised a little girl like you has even heard of my name."
Hearing this, the green-skirted servant girl’s expression turned grim.
She realized he must have set an ambush, deliberately waiting for them here.
"My Young Master is the Third Prince’s only Bloodline! If you dare harm a single hair on his head, the Third Prince will hunt you down. Even if you’re an Inner Qi Realm master, once the imperial army is after you, there will be nowhere to run, not even to the ends of the earth!"
"Haha! Don’t you worry about that."
Gongsun Jin’s expression was sinister, his tone glacial.
"I’ve roamed the Jianghu for many years, and I never leave survivors. As long as I kill every last one of you, no one will ever know it was me."
As he spoke, he started walking toward them.
"Young Master, run! I’ll hold him off! Run as far as you can!"
Seeing this, a ruthless glint flashed in the green-skirted servant girl’s eyes.
In an instant, Blood Beads seeped from her skin. Her aura exploded as she threw caution to the wind and charged at Gongsun Jin.
"You’re overestimating yourself!"
Gongsun Jin sneered as his Inner Energy erupted. He became a blur, leaping high into the air to intercept her.
His arm, like a spear forged from steel, descended with the force to shatter mountains. Black energy swirled around his five fingers as his hand clawed down from above.
CRACK.
The green-skirted servant girl’s arms and neck twisted at an unnatural angle. The light in her eyes died as she was sent flying like a snapped reed.
Having dealt with the servant girl, Gongsun Jin turned his gaze to the young master fleeing toward the door.
A cruel smile twisted his lips as he kicked a Long Saber off the ground.
The Long Saber became a streak of Flowing Light.
THUNK.
It pierced the young master’s body, pinning him to the wall.
Bloody foam gushed from the young master’s mouth. His lips trembled, trying to form words, but only blood gurgled out. His eyes, full of terror and resentment, finally went vacant as his head slumped to one side. He was dead.
Once he was finished, Gongsun Jin turned to face the others, who were watching with wary expressions.
A smile spread across his face.
"Well now, you can only blame yourselves for seeing..."
SQUELCH—
His words were cut off by the sudden sound of tearing flesh and blood.
As if sensing something, his eyes widened in utter disbelief as he looked down.
There, in the center of his chest, was a perfectly circular hole. The cavity was empty; his organs and bones had vanished.
Blood surged from the edges of the wound.
’Who in the world was it?’
Terror seized Gongsun Jin’s heart as a final thought flashed through his mind.
The next moment, his five senses were enveloped in darkness.
His body staggered a few steps before pitching forward, landing heavily on the ground with a splash of filthy water.
...
GULP...
Watching this unfold, the dozen or so Darts Masters, Wu Yidao among them, swallowed hard, their Adam’s apples bobbing unconsciously.
Their minds went blank.
’We thought we were all done for.’
’But for something like this to happen instead...’
A top-ten master from the Dragon and Tiger List, an expert in the Inner Qi Realm, had just died without any warning.
"Get the bodies out of here. They’re an eyesore."
Just as everyone stood there, at a loss, Hu Qi’s voice drifted over from the side.
Wu Yidao turned instinctively and saw Hu Qi leaning calmly against a wall nearby.
It was as if the massacre had not affected him in the slightest.
He was still slowly chewing the dry rations Wu Yidao had brought him earlier.
At this sight, a jolt went through Wu Yidao. It was as if he’d been struck by lightning; he instantly understood everything.
’It had to have been him.’
’This man was far more powerful than I could have ever imagined.’
Realizing this, he felt a chill shoot up his spine from the soles of his feet, and his body trembled involuntarily.
He immediately bellowed.
"Didn’t you hear what Sir said? Hurry up and get these corpses out of here!"
The other Darts Masters weren’t idiots; they quickly caught on.
They scrambled into action, hauling the corpses outside.
