In an instant, it appeared before one of the black Mechas.
The Light Blade in its hand swung.
BOOM!
The next second.
This black Mecha exploded into a brilliant ball of light in the void.
Then, the Mecha’s wreckage, wreathed in flames that were quickly extinguished in the vacuum, plunged into the cosmic depths below.
"I’ve had enough of playing with you filthy bastards! Now die!"
The Golden Mecha raised its Long Saber, its gaze fixed on the two remaining black Mechas.
The power around its body steadily intensified, like a Supernova about to detonate, its light illuminating the entire void.
Complex patterns began to appear on its surface. Now activated, they emitted a terrifying pulse of energy.
But the next second, the Golden Mecha froze.
Patches of shadow had appeared on the Mecha’s surface, which had been saturated with golden light. It was as if some corrosive force was causing an Erosion.
Its surging power began to rapidly diminish, and its light dimmed.
"Hm? What... What did you do?!"
The voice from the Golden Mecha transmitted, a tone of shock in it for the first time.
"Nothing much. Just a little gift for you."
One of the black Mechas spoke.
It raised a hand, and a purple crystal appeared in its palm.
Wisps of shadow, like smoke, swirled around the crystal.
As it spoke.
The crystal transformed into a streak of Flowing Light and shot toward the Golden Mecha.
Normally.
The Golden Mecha could have easily dodged it.
But now, the black spots were continuously causing Erosion on its frame, and its movements had become sluggish.
It was impossible to evade.
CRACK! The crystal slammed into its body and shattered instantly!
A pitch-black mist spread out.
It instantly enveloped the Golden Mecha.
In just a moment.
The original black spots expanded rapidly, and the entire frame began to decay.
"The Touch of the Sun Eater?"
The Golden Mecha paused.
It seemed to recognize the substance, and for the first time, a note of fear entered its voice.
The Touch of the Sun Eater was a corrupting power drawn from the depths of an extinguished sun.
It was the bane of all living things, and even Mechas.
’These lunatics actually got their hands on something like this, and even hid it inside one of their Mechas.’
’When I destroyed that first black Mecha, I must have already been contaminated.’
It understood. It was finished.
The Touch of the Sun Eater.
Even a Forbidden Mecha like itself could not escape this power once touched.
"You want to kill me? Then you’ll die with me!"
Realizing this.
The dim light on the Golden Mecha suddenly flared, like a dying star unleashing all its energy in its final moment.
KABOOM!!
It was like a great sun exploding! The dazzling light illuminated the entire void for an instant.
After the light died down.
Ripples spread through the void.
Only one black Mecha remained.
And most of its modules were damaged.
It was covered in cracks, with blue arcs of electricity dancing within them.
Like a toy block about to shatter.
Only half of the Mecha’s cockpit was left.
A figure clad entirely in black lay quietly inside.
"Cough, cough! A Forbidden Mecha... truly terrifying..."
"A shame we didn’t get the core this time, but this is enough. At least this Forbidden Mecha won’t be reappearing anytime soon."
The figure muttered to himself, looking at the now-scrapped S-class abyss Mecha.
He raised his wrist and tapped the jet-black watch on it.
A dark halo of light emanated from the watch’s surface.
Immediately, a layer of black armor spread from his wrist like a liquid, quickly covering his entire body.
"As long as I can find... within this time..."
Before he could finish, his figure suddenly transformed into a streak of Flowing Light and vanished.
...
「Over Iron Rock Star, the sky was thick with dark clouds.」
A slender Flowing Light, invisible to the naked eye, streaked across the sky like a meteor before vanishing into the clouds.
At the same time, a cold, mechanical female voice sounded from within the Flowing Light.
"Host deceased! Initiating selection mode. Scanning... Scan complete. Light Bloodline possessor detected..."
...
「In the room.」
Zhao Yao sat quietly in his chair. His eyes were on the game screen before him, but he had no heart to continue playing.
His thoughts were preoccupied with Zhao Ying’s strange behavior from earlier, and his mind was filled with doubt.
What was even stranger.
Was that when he recalled the scene.
Zhao Ying’s leg seemed to have returned to normal.
’But how is that possible? Zhao Ying has had that problem with her leg for over ten years.’
’But there’s no way I saw it wrong.’
A sudden impulse to go find Zhao Ying and ask her for a clear explanation washed over him, but the thought of possibly getting beaten up made him hesitate.
GRUMBLE...
Just then.
His stomach let out a growl.
He had played games too late last night and had slept through the morning, skipping breakfast.
He was starving now.
At this.
He prepared to get up and see if there was anything left to eat in the kitchen.
CLICK!
Suddenly, a soft sound came from the side of the room.
He looked up toward the window.
For better ventilation.
He had left the window open a crack.
The pitter-patter of rain could still be heard outside, but there seemed to be something black on the half-open windowsill.
Zhao Yao walked over, picked it up, and looked closely. It was a triangular, black metal object. There were no seams or screws; its edges and surface were perfectly smooth.
The only pattern was a series of dark golden stripes on its surface.
At this, Zhao Yao couldn’t help but feel a little puzzled.
He didn’t understand how this thing had appeared on his windowsill.
His window opened by pushing it upward from the bottom.
Even if someone from above had dropped something, the glass pane would have blocked it. It shouldn’t have been able to land on the windowsill.
Just then, the triangular metal object in his hand, inlaid with dark golden stripes, suddenly began to glow faintly.
Before he could react, a burning sensation spread from his palm.
"Fuck!"
He frantically shook his hand, trying to throw the metal object off.
But it was as if it had taken root, stuck fast to his skin, unmoving.
Then, his body seemed to be bound by an invisible force, unable to move.
He could only watch helplessly as the triangular piece of metal slowly merged into his palm.
"BEEP! Neural module connection in progress..."
