By day, the spectators of the underground fighting ring might be unassuming workers from the Lower City District, or perhaps well-dressed, upper-class individuals sitting gracefully in their offices.

Here, however.

Under the dim lights and amidst the deafening roars, they tore off their daytime masks, unleashing the madness and desire buried deep within.

They were no longer ordinary people bound by rules, but beasts driven by primal instinct, craving the thrill of blood and violence.

They came here not just to watch a fight, but to witness the fragility of life and the moment of its destruction.

Every heavy blow in the ring, every drop of spattering blood, ignited the deep-seated frenzy within their hearts.

Here, they were no longer cogs in the machine of the Lower City District, but the masters of their own desires, venting their suppressed, everyday sins and greed with shouts and roars.

This was their paradise, and their Hell.

Yet the figure in the ring seemed not to hear any of it.

They simply tilted their head up slightly, their gaze beneath the mask serene and unwavering.

"Let's begin."

As the bell to start the match rang,

the Modified Person known as Black Ape charged the masked woman with a savage grin, his massive fist whistling through the air as it shot toward her face.

His movements were swift and brutal, as if he meant to pulverize the masked woman with a single blow.

"You've got a death wish! Don't blame me for what happens next!"

Yet, just as the fist was about to connect, it suddenly froze.

The masked woman had raised a single hand, effortlessly stopping the blow that could have shattered steel.

"What?!"

Black Ape's eyes widened in disbelief. He stared as his fist was caught fast in her palm, unable to move forward another inch.

The laughter from the stands died abruptly, replaced by a sea of hushed gasps.

"What the hell... Fuck! This is a fixed fight, isn't it..."

The next second, the masked woman struck. Her hand moved so fast it was nearly a blur.

Her arm shot through his chest like a bolt of lightning. Before her power, his metal torso was as fragile as paper.

Her hand drove straight through Black Ape's torso, closing with precision around his whirring mechanical heart before she gave a savage yank.

Black Ape's pupils constricted. His eyes filled with terror and disbelief, as if he couldn't comprehend what was happening.

Then, as he watched with eyes full of despair, a mechanical heart, tangled in wires and flashing with blue light, was ripped from his chest.

Her fingers clenched.

CRUNCH—!

The sound of the mechanical heart bursting echoed across the ring. Sparks flew as Black Ape's body jolted rigid, then slowly crumpled to its knees.

His eyes were wide, as if still unable to believe what had happened.

Then, his body crashed to the floor with a heavy thud.

He fell completely still.

The entire arena fell into a dead silence.

The smiles on the audience's faces froze. The whistles died, replaced by a sea of wide eyes and gaping mouths.

A cup slipped from someone's hand and shattered on the floor, but no one paid it any mind.

"How... How is that possible?"

someone murmured, their voice trembling with disbelief.

"...With just one strike... Is that woman even human..."

Another person swallowed hard, their eyes glued to the masked woman who remained perfectly calm in the ring.

Unlike before.

Now, the figure in their eyes was a terrifying Fierce Beast, exuding a suffocating, oppressive aura.

The masked woman slowly withdrew her arm. It was covered in mechanical fragments and sputtering sparks, which she casually flicked away.

She turned and walked off the platform.

Behind her.

After a moment of silence, the arena erupted once more.

Curses and insults filled the air, but mingled with them was a wave of frenzied cheers.

This place was never short on gamblers. Those who had bet on the masked woman were now waving their betting slips excitedly, their faces alight with wild joy.

Thanks to the extremely high odds, they had made a fortune on this one fight.

The losers, however, were red-eyed, grinding their teeth as they glared at the corpse of "Black Ape" on the platform, looking like they wanted to tear it limb from limb.

That is, if they could digest a body that was eighty percent steel.
