A moment later, four people arrived around the hammer. One of them was the Overseer, and she had used her abilities as Overseer to transport the other three to this place as well.
As Sebastian saw the hammer, his insides shook.
Kyle was dead.
This was all that was left of Kyle.
Sebastian glanced at Swamp Dragon with a mix of hatred and hope. He wished that Swamp Dragon hadn't lied to him.
Fierce Breaker looked at the hammer with narrowed eyes.
Swamp Dragon looked at it with a neutral expression.
The Overseer looked at it with shock and hope.
Everything Swamp Dragon had predicted had happened!
Swamp Dragon nodded. "It contains all of Kyle's knowledge. Since the hammer came out, it means that Kyle has succeeded in comprehending the Major Law of Death. We just need to find a way to access its knowledge."
"Is it alive?" the Overseer asked.
"It is both dead and alive," Swamp Dragon answered. "Death is an absence of something, while life is constant transformation. This hammer is something, but it is in an unchanging state. It is a living being, eternally frozen in time. To be precise, it is a human, but it does not have a will or consciousness."
The Overseer narrowed her eyes and moved her hands towards the hammer.
"You must be careful," Swamp Dragon said. "It is a true mortal human. It is fragile and can't repair itself. If it breaks, it dies."
The Overseer carefully lifted the hammer, making sure not to break it.
As she held it in her hands, she felt...
Nothing.
It felt just like a random hammer that a Mortal would swing.
The Overseer infused the hammer with her Energy to investigate, and she found something interesting.
The hammer wasn't made of any material she knew. This was a completely new material. It looked and felt like metal, but there wasn't any Metal Energy inside it. In fact, there were no Elemental Energies at all.
It was like it was made of Neutral Energy that imitated the properties of Metal Energy, which was strange since Metal Energy was also just Energy. It was like it was imitating itself.
"I do not understand it," the Overseer said. "I know all of the Laws that exist in this world, but this hammer is not part of any of these Laws. Is it part of the Supreme Laws?"
"No," Swamp Dragon answered. "An Imposing Law is the representation of yourself. It represents your own reality. Kyle must have perfected his Imposing Law before dying, which means he has created a Law that is fully his own."
"If he had used himself as his Imposing Law, we would be seeing a human, but since he has used his hammer, we're seeing a hammer. This hammer is a representation of his own reality, and his reality has different rules and Laws from our reality."
"If you want to use it, you need to understand it. You need to understand its existence. This hammer is one-more Law that needs to be comprehended."
The Overseer furrowed her brows. "So, I just have to comprehend it, and I can use the Major Law of Death?"
"Yes, but that's impossible," Swamp Dragon said. "You cannot understand a Law that is not part of this Cosmos."
"Why?" the Overseer asked with suspicion.
"Because you are not human," Swamp Dragon said. "Kyle's Elemental counted as a human. It had its own physical Spirit and body, but its Center and mind were borrowed from Kyle. When Kyle was consumed by Death, all of his Energy vanished, and as it did so, he comprehended the Major Law of Death."
"When that happened, Death no longer infected him or his Elemental. In simple math, Kyle's existence represented the number one million, while his human Elemental represented one. Death subtracted one million, leaving one. The Energy that was left only rivals the Energy the Elemental's human identity had, and since his Elemental has never progressed as a human, the hammer is now Mortal."
"Accessing its powers represents understanding its Laws, and since its Laws do not fit into the Cosmos' Laws, you can only understand it by creating it."
"In short, you need to create an Imposing Law that perfectly imitates Kyle's Imposing Law. A human can do that. You can't."
"You lied!" the Overseer shouted in fury. "You said I can break the World Wall with the hammer!"
"I said the World Wall can be destroyed with the hammer," Swamp Dragon answered. "I did not say that you were the one who would use it."
The Overseer wanted to kill Swamp Dragon so badly, but she refused to do it.
This was the closest she had ever gotten to getting out of this cage!
Since she now knew that she couldn't use the hammer, she also wanted to destroy it. Yet, she knew that she wouldn't go through with it.
"Then, what's your plan?" she asked with annoyance.
"Fierce Breaker will be the one," Swamp Dragon said. "He is the only one that has any familiarity with using a hammer, and he's also the most talented out of us."
The Overseer glanced at Fierce Breaker with disregard. "He's talented, but I don't believe that he can create a 100% quality Imposing Law in the Fusion Realm."
Fierce Breaker gritted his teeth but didn't answer.
"If my suspicions are correct, the hammer will guide him," Swamp Dragon said. "The stronger the hammer becomes, the stronger and clearer its influence gets."
"The hammer can become stronger?" the Overseer asked in surprise.
"Of course. It's a human," Swamp Dragon answered. "It can advance in Realms, but it's also affected by longevity. If its longevity runs out, it will turn into a truly dead hammer."
The Overseer didn't like that she had to rely on Fierce Breaker to break her out of this cage, but she didn't have any other choice.
"Fine, I believe you, but I also don't trust you," she said with a threatening voice. "I will be watching all of you! If I see any hint of deception, I will kill each and every one of you!"
"Naturally," Swamp Dragon answered evenly. "Now, please hand the hammer to Fierce Breaker."
The Overseer glared at Swamp Dragon before she carelessly threw the hammer to Fierce Breaker.
As Fierce Breaker saw the flying hammer, his insides trembled in rage and helplessness.
If he didn't catch the hammer, it would be destroyed.
It would be so easy to destroy it.
He could just watch, and this horrible thing would be destroyed.
Fierce Breaker gritted his teeth and caught the hammer carefully.
As he touched it, he felt like he was holding his fate in his hands.
Sebastian looked at Fierce Breaker with reluctant understanding.
'If Swamp Dragon didn't lie, this will be a battle between Fierce Breaker and Kyle.'
'If Fierce Breaker wins, Kyle will be truly dead.'
'If Kyle wins, Fierce Breaker will die, but Kyle will return.'
'Fierce Breaker knows this, but he also knows that he can win.'
Sebastian shook his head.
'He just needs to create a Law of Hammer that can rival Kyle's within the next million years.'
