Strongest Hammer God

Chapter 1099: Dawning Dusk

Fulminant Cycle, Auspicious Starsky, and Breathing Golem, the three leaders of Dawning Dusk, traveled towards the east. Dawning Dusk's territory stretched far and wide, but there was one spot near the middle of their territory that was inaccessible to them.

The three leaders had fought several wars with other Higher Continental Organizations to conquer this part of their territory. They believed that the territory would one day allow them to advance and finally become one of the World Organizations.

Immortal Earth, a Level Seven Element.

If they could comprehend its mysteries, they could create a humongous Formation Array around it, blocking it from any other Seeker. With that, they could enter into negotiations with other Organizations, trading access for a sizable fee, paid in resources and raw Energy Stones.

With these resources, they could expand their other Law Wells, make it easier for their people to comprehend Laws, and buy blueprints for advanced Formation Arrays.

They knew that they were not ready to comprehend a Level Seven Law, but they didn't need to be ready. As long as they could sell access to it to some New Ascendants or One-Infused Ascendants, they could gain some allies and a lot of resources.

Every World Organization had access to at least two Level Seven Law Wells, but very often, one or more of their Ascendants had Affinities that didn't fit their Law Wells. These World Organizations often paid Higher Continental Organizations to access their Level Seven Law Wells. This was the best way to advance in the world.

Sadly, having such a Law Well in one's territory was one thing, while truly conquering it was a different thing. The World Organizations kept their methods of controlling Level Seven Law Wells secret... as long as one didn't pay an exorbitant fee.

For the past centuries, the three of them had prepared expensive materials for Formation Arrays. With these Formation Arrays, they could study the Law Well and eventually find a way to control it.

Today, they would enter the Law Well and analyze it!

"Wait," Auspicious Starsky suddenly said as he stopped, his blue and white hair floating around him in ethereal winds.

The other two stopped as well and looked at their Leader.

"There's someone in our Law Well," Auspicious Starsky transmitted. As the Leader, Auspicious Starsky was the strongest member of Dawning Dusk. He was a Unique Spirit Lord, while the other two leaders were Fulfilled Spirit Lords.

Fulminant Cycle furrowed her brows, her red and white hair almost falling over her eyes. "To which Organization do they belong?" she asked.

Breathing Golem just took a deep breath, his massive armor releasing crackling sounds as his powerful and wide chest pushed on it. He was already preparing for battle.

"I don't recognize his uniform," Auspicious Starsky answered. "I don't believe he's a member of a World Organization. He might be a Lone Elder."

Fulminant Cycle's furrowed brows stayed furrowed. Lone Elders were always difficult to deal with since they rarely cared about politics or global rules. Even more, it was difficult to predict their behaviors. Some of them were friendly, while others were immediately hostile.

"It's your call," Fulminant Cycle commented.

Auspicious Starsky fell into thought for a moment. He could tell that the Lone Elder was an Ascendant, and not a weak one. Just based on the Energy around him, he had to be, at least, a One-Infused Ascendant. This already put him on the same level as the weakest leaders of the World Organizations.

However, Dawning Dusk also wasn't helpless. They had several powerful Spirit Lords, and with the help of their Formation Arrays, they could fight and even kill a One-Infused Ascendant, assuming they actually attacked their headquarters.

"Senior," Auspicious Starsky transmitted to the Lone Elder, "you might not be aware, but this Law Well belongs to Dawning Dusk. Is there a specific reason for your presence in our territory?"

Black glanced at the leader of Dawning Dusk. 'Polite but clear,' Kyle thought. 'About what I've expected.'

"I'm just here to look at the Immortal Earth," Black transmitted. "I will be gone when I'm done."

Auspicious Starsky's brows furrowed. "Law Wells are treasures of nature, but humanity is built on social contracts and rules. By agreement, territories have owners. If we simply enter someone's house because we just want to be there, there will be chaos."

Black looked at the three of them with interest. 'Very diplomatic,' he thought.

"Alright, how about this? You can ask me two questions, and I will answer them honestly," Kyle transmitted. "You may ask about anything you want to know. No topic is off-limits. If you're asking about something dangerous, I will warn you, though. In exchange, you just have to let me stay here until I'm willing to leave. Deal?"

Auspicious Starsky deliberated his choices for a moment. "Laws in exchange for information," he commented. "The trade is acceptable, but how can we make sure that your answers will be as beneficial to us as our Law Well is beneficial to you?"

"You can ask me about what you should ask me," Kyle transmitted. "That would count as one question, though. However, that means your remaining question will give you the most benefits."

Auspicious Starsky wasn't the biggest fan of Kyle's suggestion, but he also knew that he had to be careful with his words. "For the protocol, I have not accepted the trade yet. Will your presence influence the comprehension of our people in this Law Well?"

"I'm not entirely sure," Kyle answered. "I don't know everything about Immortal Earth. For example, I don't know how your presence will affect the Law Well, which means I also don't really know how my presence will affect your comprehension. I'm not going to attack anyone or tell them to leave, if that's what you're worried about. Just act like I'm not here."

Auspicious Starsky talked with his partners, and some moments later, he looked at Black again.

"We agree to the trade," he transmitted, "and we would like to accept your suggestion as well. As our first question, we would like to know what question would give us the greatest benefit."

"Sure," Kyle transmitted back. "Ask me about the best way to secure access to the Law Well. However, my answers will involve some insights into the Law. It's always better to learn all aspects of a Law yourself. It won't be a big deal, but it might impact your comprehension a tiny bit."

Auspicious Starsky's eyes widened slightly in surprise.

The Lone Elder was willing to share the method he was using to comprehend Immortal Earth?

That was invaluable! A method to secure a Level Seven Law Well was almost as valuable as such a Law Well itself!

"We would like to ask that exact question. You may tell me directly. I do not have an Affinity for Earth," Auspicious Starsky transmitted.

"Fine," Kyle answered. "Immortal Earth is like a dream..."

Kyle shared his experiences involving the Law Well with the Leader, telling him about the dangers and how the Law Well had reacted to his perception of danger.

When Auspicious Starsky heard that, his expression turned grim.

Today, they would conquer the Law Well... they thought.

If what the Lone Elder had said proved to be true...

[unclear]

The Law Well would not become accessible to them until they had an Ascendant of their own.
