Chapter 1051: It’s Because of You

C’thlyanu looked back at Hesabeth and gave a simple answer.

"I think it is because of you."

Hesabeth’s eyes narrowed.

"Me?"

"Yes, you. Your bias is doing what it can to protect you. But it appears the world is incapable of stopping this disaster, so it has prioritized your safety over the safety of the rest of the domain. Your bias does not allow anyone to leave this world because it wants to protect you."

Hesabeth huffed as an understanding immediately dawned on her, and she gained a conflicted expression on her face. On one hand, Hesabeth knew that it was only right that the world cared so much for her since she was the most important being in existence, but on the other hand, Hesabeth was worried about the rest of her domain. How many people would die out there because of this disaster? Hesabeth did not like the fact that she couldn’t go out and do something for them right now.

"What sort of disaster is so powerful that even the world can’t do anything about it?"

Gina spoke up with a worried expression on her face. Hearing that the Sixth Domain was also going to be attacked by whatever this was put a deep fear in her heart for her family. Gina’s parents, Jason’s family, and even Riyala and the people of Radagan! They were all in the Sixth Domain, and as far as Gina knew, they were all completely unaware of the danger coming for them.

C’thlyanu stayed silent for a few seconds before he finally told them what was truly going on:

"The Celestial of Death has been awakened. It was released from its runic seal by someone."

C’thlyanu’s response made Hesabeth’s eyes widen in shock!

"What? Who would do something so mad!?"

Hesabeth’s voice came out in a tone of absolute disbelief! Hesabeth knew about the Celestial of Death since she had also been alive during the Period of Lawlessness, and all the stories she had heard about it were only filled with terrible incidents of death and destruction! That Celestial was one of the worst calamities the Primordial Expanse had ever faced, and there was an obvious reason why it was sealed away! Who would be foolish enough to release something like that!?

"What’s the Celestial of Death?"

Gina spoke up from behind with a frown, and C’thlyanu explained.

"It’s a Fallen Celestial. One of the very few left in this mortal plane. It has refused to ascend into the Celestial Plane, so it remains here and causes calamities to the world of mortals with its existence. Millennia ago, it was sealed away by a collective effort of the strongest mages alive, and the key to the seal was hidden in an abyss where no mortal should’ve been able to find it –"

"Well, that was obviously not good enough."

Hesabeth spoke up with a frown, and C’thlyanu hummed in agreement. If they had really done such a good job hiding the key, then there was no way anyone should’ve been able to get it. Even C’thlyanu himself always thought the key was in a place where no one could get to it, so learning about this incident was confusing him just as much as many others in the world.

Gina then spoke up.

"What do you plan to do? We can’t do anything while we’re trapped in here."

"Yes, you should simply focus on helping your domain any way you can. For now, I am passing the message on to all the council members. We are ordering an evacuation of the worlds in Death’s path to take the death toll down as much as possible. Every powerful mage is doing what they can to help out. Once we have restored some order, we’ll create another plan to reseal the Celestial of Death. I have to leave now; there is much to be done."

C’thlyanu said his goodbye, and before anyone could say anything else, he was gone. The moment C’thlyanu left, Gina quickly turned away, and she activated the mental link that she had with Jason! Even though Gina couldn’t leave this world, the fact that C’thlyanu could still contact them meant that certain magical signals could still pass through the travel block!

’Babe, are you there?’

Gina bit her bottom lip worriedly as she said this, and her heart almost sank when she didn’t get a response for a few seconds, but then Jason’s voice came through.

’Gina?’

An intense burst of relief flowed through Gina the moment she heard Jason’s calm voice coming from the other side of the connection!

’Yes, it’s me.’

On the other side of the call, Jason was also feeling an intense burst of relief. Jason had just arrived back on Earth a few minutes ago, and he had gone to his family’s house to see how Gina was doing, but Jason was surprised when he discovered that Gina was not at home! Jason had immediately used [Eye of the King] to track where Gina was, and he saw that she was still in Minori with Hesabeth, but the moment Jason tried to use [King’s Substitute] to go and see Gina, Jason was shocked when he couldn’t use it! Jason couldn’t switch places with any of his subordinates inside of Minori, and Jason wondered what the hell was going on!

Jason had literally been one second away from contacting Gina using the mental link when she called him, and Jason let out a calm sigh of relief as he spoke up.

’Gina, what’s going on? I can’t get into Minori for some reason.’

’I can’t really explain it, babe. But I think the world created some sort of barrier around this world, and it’s preventing anyone from leaving or getting in. C’thlyanu said it was Hesabeth’s bias trying to protect her from the Celestial of Death.’

Jason’s eyes narrowed immediately, and he told Gina to hold on a second as he tried to activate [King’s Substitute] again. But the skill still did not work, and Jason’s frown only deepened. So communication spells could pass through the magical barrier, but transportation spells were blocked? It was as if the world was trying to make sure Hesabeth was protected while still allowing her to communicate with other worlds in her domain and rule them from Minori. How convenient.

Jason spoke up.

’My transportation skill doesn’t work either. I need you to sit tight and wait in Minori for now. I’ll figure this out soon.’

Gina bit her bottom lip in worry when she heard this, and she asked Jason if this was really going to be okay!

’I heard that the Celestial of Death was impossible to beat, babe. It can kill you by just passing over you. I don’t want you going close to something like that.’

After hearing C’thlyanu’s explanation for what the Celestial of Death was capable of, Gina immediately knew that she did not want Jason anywhere close to a creature like that! There were already many terrifying beasts out there in the Primordial Expanse, and Gina had faced many of them, but a creature that could kill you just by passing over you was something completely outside the boundary of reason!

But Jason just told Gina that he would be fine.

’Don’t worry. I’ll focus on the evacuation for now until we can figure out a way to push it back into the seal. If they were able to seal it before, I’m sure there is a way for us to seal it again.’

Gina could only nod in acceptance as Jason said this, and Jason said one final goodbye before leaving the connection. Once the link closed up, Gina let out a long breath of exhaustion while leaning on the table in front of her! Hesabeth came over and rubbed Gina’s back softly before asking her what happened.

"Did you speak to darling? Is he alright?"
