Crystal White’s parents were both high-level leaders. As soon as they heard their darling daughter had gotten into trouble, they rushed over immediately.

Mrs. White glared furiously at Celeste Linden. "So you’re Celeste Linden. With your husband backing you, you really do throw your weight around here, don’t you? You actually bullied my daughter."

Celeste looked at these people who’d chosen to strike first and let out a cold laugh. "Mrs. White, why don’t you tell me exactly how I supposedly bullied your daughter?"

"My daughter Dianna went so far as to jump off a building, and you dare say her jumping has nothing to do with you?"

"What do you mean?"

"Before my daughter jumped, she came to see you and talked to you. I heard she even knelt down to you, didn’t she? Don’t you think you can deny this—everyone saw it! Celeste Linden, they say a woman’s heart is the most vicious, and you really are vicious. You actually provoked and incited my daughter to jump. My Dianna is so pure and kind, and you wanted her dead!"

Celeste suddenly understood. No wonder Crystal White had come to her—so this was what it was about.

After coming to her, Crystal then jumped. Now even if Celeste had a hundred mouths, she wouldn’t be able to explain herself.

Celeste’s gaze didn’t dodge in the slightest. She looked coldly at Crystal’s parents. "Was it Crystal who told you that I forced her to jump?"

"Do I even need Dianna to tell me? Anyone with eyes can see it."

"Fine. Where is Crystal now? I’ll go find her, and we’ll confront each other face-to-face." Celeste didn’t back down at all.

Crystal’s parents hadn’t expected Celeste to remain so calm and composed, her presence sharp and imposing. Just then a weak voice sounded. "Mom, Dad, don’t make things hard for my sister‑in‑law. This has nothing to do with her."

Supported by two people, Crystal White slowly walked in looking sick and frail.

"Dianna, why did you come? At a time like this, how can you still speak up for this vicious woman? You’re just too kind—kind people get bullied."

"Mom," Crystal grabbed Mrs. White’s hand and said pitifully, "I already told you this has nothing to do with my sister‑in‑law. She didn’t force me to jump."

As she spoke, Crystal walked up to Celeste. Her tears came streaming down. "Sister‑in‑law, I’m sorry. My parents care too much about me, and when people care they lose their heads. That’s why they were so rude to you. I apologize to you on their behalf."

Crystal grabbed Celeste’s hand.

Celeste looked at her coldly. "Let go."

Not only did Crystal refuse to let go, she even secretly dug her nails into Celeste’s hand.

Celeste forcefully flung her off.

"Ah!"

Crystal let out a shrill scream. Her whole body fell backward and landed hard on the floor, sitting down with a thud.

"Dianna!" Mrs. White rushed forward. "Dianna, are you all right?"

Crystal broke free from her mother and tried to crawl toward Celeste. "Sister‑in‑law, don’t be angry. I was wrong, I know I was wrong. I’ll kowtow to you right now."

Crystal was about to kowtow to Celeste again.

"Dianna!" Mrs. White grabbed Crystal, glaring at Celeste in rage. "Celeste Linden, and you still claim you didn’t push my daughter? Look at what you’ve driven her to. You really are vicious."

At that moment, Mr. White spoke. "Celeste Linden, the evidence is conclusive now. You’re scheming and ruthless, you forced my daughter to jump. I’m going to have them take you down and hand you over for punishment."

As he spoke, Mr. White waved his hand, and several men in uniform stepped forward to seize Celeste.

"Hold it, you can’t arrest my sister‑in‑law!" Just then all of Ethan Barnes’s trusted men rushed over, blocking Celeste from view.

Mr. White snorted coldly. "You people must be tired of living, daring to stand in my way!"
