Nathan just left with a smile, leaving the husband and wife alone.
"By the way, when are we going to split up?"
"Split up?" Nathan was startled by Selena’s sudden question.
"I’m talking about splitting up the team. It will make the trip more convenient, no?"
"That’s true." Nathan nodded. "Well, we will soon. There are three conditions that I have set up if we want to split up. The first is to have a means of communication. If we don’t know each other’s location or condition, it will be extremely bad, especially since we don’t know how the black cell is going to react. There is a chance that splitting up will allow the black cell to isolate one group."
"Fair enough, but isn’t that a problem?"
"Yes. With my Soul Contract, it won’t be a problem. By paying an appropriate price, communicating with each other through the Soul Contract is possible." Nathan had thought about this possibility as soon as he succeeded in seeing Flora’s status.
He could simply use the Soul Contract to act like a letter. They could write down anything they wanted, and the other half of the Soul Contract would show those words.
By creating tools with Soul Contract as their pencils and erasers, they definitely could communicate, even though it was just by exchanging letters.
"The second condition is the means to know each other’s location. As mentioned in the first condition, we need to know each other’s situation. We have to rescue the other in case something happens. Obviously, this also means that Evelyn and I can’t be on the same team. We are the only ones with the means to go to each other. After all, you surely know the distance between worlds by now, right?"
"Definitely. We can fly fast, but if we want to fly that far, it will still take months to reach each other. No, it might even take years. After all, the unit of distance is light years. We’re not moving at the speed of light." Selena shrugged. "We can take advantage of our power to somehow skip some distance, but the space element is much more convenient to be used."
"Yeah." Nathan nodded. Traveling between worlds was definitely hard. However, now that they had gained divinity, they could travel fast with the space element. A single teleportation alone could cover a distance of up to ten light-years.
Of course, Nathan was also searching for the wormhole theory, which would allow them to create a tunnel through spacetime to form shortcuts between distant regions of the universe.
Unfortunately, Nathan had the idea, but didn’t understand the principle behind it. So, they had to either figure it out on their own or find a planet that already had a concept.
Nevertheless, this was the only way for them to travel. Even if they used the space element, traveling thousands, if not millions, of light-years away were still hard. They needed a huge amount of energy, not to mention the time it took to utilize that ability.
That was why the wormhole was necessary. Evelyn and Nathan were thinking of another way to bypass that problem.
It was through understanding Yog-Sothoth’s portal. Yog-Sothoth created a portal to send those apex class aliens back then. It was only a one-time use, and it only sent apex class aliens, not gods, but it was proof that further improvement on their portals was possible.
So, this was an alternative option.
"Can you find a way to do that?" Selena asked. "It’s like a compass, right?"
"Yes. In a way, I can do that as well with the Soul Contract. I will just create a Soul Contract that acts like a magnet to each other. They will be moving toward each other whenever there’s an opportunity." Nathan raised a finger, while adding inwardly, ’This is a concept that I’ve found after reading a certain manga... I’ve been training for decades in this world, so my memory has become a bit hazy. What was the name again? Tivre Card? Well, whatever. It can be a concept of my compass.’
"That’s rather smart." Selena didn’t realize it was possible.
"For now, I’m taking my time to create five pairs. In case we need to split up, we will have a guide. The same applies to the communication tools."
"What’s the third condition?" Selena asked.
"The third condition? We will need a goal. For example, I’m planning to visit the three ancient battlefields. If we can find their location, splitting up is good. We know where we’re going after all. But if we just mindlessly go around this universe, then it’s useless to split up." Nathan sighed.
"I see. If we find a clue about the ancient battlefields but don’t know where to get there. We will split up to find more clues." Selena nodded in understanding.
"Yep. Other nearby planets might have that information after all."
"In that case, the team..."
"We will only split up into two groups, probably. You will have to lead the second team, and Evelyn has to be there. Meanwhile, Flora has to go with me since I can add more elements this way. Flora is good with Noelle. Judging from Flora’s current strength, Luna should go with you."
"In that case, I want Sera as well. She will be the support and our healer in case something goes wrong," asked Selena. There were only two healers in the group after all.
"Sure." Nathan thought for a moment. "You need a vanguard, so you get Alavenya as well."
"In that case, I will have Bella since she pairs well with Evelyn. This means my group has six people, while yours has four. Considering your personal combat power, I think that’s quite fair."
"Yeah, I don’t mind. Iris might come soon, so she can go to me once we regroup." Nathan smiled.
"I guess that’s the plan." Selena smiled.
Nathan thought it was fair, considering Flora’s current power had skyrocketed to be among the top. In addition, Noelle’s offensive power couldn’t be underestimated either. Vivian would be there to increase their group’s stability.
"Indeed. For now, let’s just have some fun while we can. Hopefully, we will be able to find a clue about the three ancient battlefields. I mean, except for the Great Void."
