After hearing Zhao Shuai, Jiang Cheng felt it had some truth. Perhaps Mantasha was now at the end of her rope.

Jiang Cheng thought he should have acted against Mantasha earlier. Though much has happened that he couldn’t attend to, the resulting mess now was indeed troublesome.

"I’m going in first. Don’t wait for me at the entrance, or anticipate any reckless actions. Mantasha’s number of accomplices is unknown. We must be cautious." Jiang Cheng worried Mantasha had many comrades right now. "Alright, I got it, Jiang; you go ahead," Zhao Shuai pursed his lips, nodded at Jiang Cheng.

"Jiang, you really must be careful," Cloud said, watching Jiang Cheng with worried brows.

Jiang Cheng nodded and went inside. Like last time, he entered the first floor, which was a simple, deserted bar. Jiang Cheng told the bartender, "I want to see your boss."

The bartender sneered, glancing at Jiang Cheng, "Who do you think you are? Not everyone can meet our boss."

"I’m Jiang Cheng, just tell him that," Jiang Cheng responded.

The bartender saw Jiang Cheng’s serious expression, not threatening yet exuding authority, making her uneasy. She picked up the phone and dialed out. Moments later, with great respect, the bartender said to Jiang Cheng, "Please go ahead, the office is the innermost room on the second floor."

Jiang Cheng went directly to the farthest room on the second floor and knocked, "Come in." An elderly yet familiar voice rang out. Upon entering, the scene before him was unexpected.

On the sofa sat Wu Shan and Mantasha, and Wu Shan appeared calm upon seeing Jiang Cheng, seemingly not under any duress.

Jiang Cheng had previously thought Wu Shan might be coerced by Mantasha, yet here Mr. Jiang, I never expected you to find us this quickly." Mantasha was wearing a black dress today and spoke with a smile, etching many wrinkles, "You know I’d find out," Jiang Cheng said.

"Indeed, I knew only Jiang Cheng could deduce it’s me in this place," Mantasha suddenly stopped smiling, looking at Jiang Cheng.

Jiang Cheng then realized Mantasha’s eyes resembled Wu Shan’s; Mantasha must’ve been beautiful in her youth. Jiang Cheng thought about Shan Wu, suddenly realizing something.

"But Mr. Jiang, I’m curious, how did you know it was me?" Mantasha asked.

"I saw the members you subdued. Their state was the same as mine back then," Jiang Cheng replied.

"Oh? Did the monitors catch them falling unconscious?" Mantasha now showed a surprised expression.

Jiang Cheng hadn’t seen them fall on monitors; Mantasha had wanted to whisk Wu Shan away instantaneously, known only twenty minutes later. This led Jiang Cheng to one conclusion—Mantasha had tampered with the members.

"No, but I know," Jiang Cheng said.

Mantasha seemingly had a revelation, telling Jiang Cheng, "Alright, since you’re so clever, you surely know why I saved her?" Mantasha wore a contemptuous smile, sure Jiang Cheng wouldn’t know.

"Wu Shan is your daughter, isn’t she?" Jiang Cheng said.

Mantasha’s expression was genuinely shocked. She truly hadn’t expected Jiang Cheng to even know this. Nervously, she tensed.

Jiang Cheng observed Mantasha’s reaction and knew his guess was correct. Actually, Jiang Cheng had suspected Wu Mu’s identity multiple times. Since encountering Wu Fen in the hall, and Wu Shan’s strange actions, especially when outside the restaurant he’d seen someone resembling Mantasha, Jiang Cheng only now saw Mantasha and Wu Fen’s somewhat similar appearance, leading to this conjecture.
