Chapter 1261: Chapter 1260: Ion Cannon
Zhang Tian knew that Jiang Cheng couldn’t see him at all. So he walked over to his side, watching him calculate. Jiang Cheng was calculating the probability of encountering a black hole, which left Zhang Tian speechless. But upon reflection, it really suited Jiang Cheng’s character.
Zhang Tian stood by watching Jiang Cheng sit and calculate. After about ten minutes, Jiang Cheng was still stuck in the same loop, performing the same task repetitively. Zhang Tian even thought he could take a nap before Jiang Cheng finished.
Just as he was getting drowsy, Zhang Tian felt a violent impact, jarring him almost to the floor.
Changtain looked up, and Jiang Cheng also stopped his calculations, staring out at the situation from the monitor upfront. Zhang Tian saw nothing but felt that something had crashed. His first guess was a collision with a Yang Stone.
Jiang Cheng swiftly moved to the hatch. Without any hesitation, he went outside. Zhang Tian watched the unyielding Jiang Cheng and thought about how fearless this man always seemed to be.
Zhang Tian followed Jiang Cheng outside, and it was only when he was out there that he saw a battered spaceship in front of him. It seemed to have been large and luxurious before the collision. But now, you couldn’t discern its original form at all.
Without hesitation, Jiang Cheng walked inside. Zhang Tian observed that this spaceship looked quite similar to those from his own country. Although he had never been on a real spaceship, he knew a bit about them. Seeing such a similar spacecraft made Zhang Tian wonder, was it truly from his own country? Why was it so damaged, and why had it been abandoned here?
The spaceship’s hatch and several sections of its interior walls were damaged, but the basic facilities seemed to be intact. It appeared to have been a high-grade craft, Zhang Tian thought while watching Jiang Cheng walk through the entire spacecraft from back to front.
Changtian did not see any animal remains; it seemed the pilot had left before the spaceship fell into disrepair. Zhang Tian thought for a moment, recalling that, in recent years, only one astronaut had gone missing.
Jiang Cheng walked to the energy source at the front. Zhang Tian saw that the spaceship’s energy source was indeed the universal energy source used by his country’s spacecraft, the Purple Gold Stone, but this ship seemed to have more than usual. He noticed many unused Purple Gold Stones at the energy source, itching to obtain them.
But he couldn’t get to those Purple Gold Stones himself, having to watch as Jiang Cheng took a few pieces.
Jiang Cheng, standing in front of him, was adjusting the additional information from the spaceship. Zhang Tian noticed that Jiang Cheng was skimming through it very quickly, so fast that it seemed like he was not even reading!
After a while, Zhang Tian saw Jiang Cheng was learning the language of the Kai Ao Country, and as if with one glance, he had mastered it. Then he started looking at the history of the Kai Country.
Changtian recalled some past events involving Jiang Cheng, suddenly feeling that he had discovered something extraordinary.
Zhang Tian suppressed his excitement, watching as Jiang Cheng seemed to make a decision of some sort, stepping out of the damaged spacecraft, back to their own ship. Zhang Tian looked at the unfamiliar spacecraft, suddenly realizing: Jiang Cheng isn’t from this planet. Once you accept that, many things start to make sense. Zhang Tian thought.
As Jiang Cheng returned to their spaceship, he started it up again, heading in the direction of Kai Ao Country. Zhang Tian thought about the whole situation, feeling it was becoming stranger and stranger.
That spaceship could be confirmed to be from Li Country, yet the data Jiang Cheng accessed was all about Kai Ao Country. How could that be, Zhang Tian wondered.
It felt like only a few minutes had passed when the spaceship landed. Zhang Tian looked around, still seeing a desert. My god, am I just destined to be at odds with deserts? Zhang Tian thought helplessly.
Jiang Cheng seemed to plan on switching his mode of transport here before entering Kai Ao Country, Zhang Tian realized his intention.
Jiang Cheng put away the spaceship and took out a vehicle. Zhang Tian, watching Jiang Cheng’s Jiezhi Bracelet, really felt some admiration; such a large spaceship was stored away just like that.
Changtian had been following Jiang Cheng in his illusion realm, or rather, he was revisiting Jiang Cheng’s past. He hadn’t found the right moment to pull Jiang Cheng out. Zhang Tian knew that if he couldn’t find the right time to bring Jiang Cheng out, Jiang Cheng could be in danger.
After following Jiang Cheng to a town in Kai Ao Country, Zhang Tian noticed a change in the scenes before him.
A tunnel appeared. Zhang Tian found the tunnel somewhat familiar but couldn’t immediately recall anything. Jiang Cheng seemed to be pursued by someone, judging by his serious expression.
Zhang Tian watched Jiang Cheng run past him, remembering Jiang Cheng couldn’t see him, feeling a bit overly sensitive and anxious.
Jiang Cheng ran by, and Zhang Tian saw Li Pu chasing after him. That guy was really no good. Zhang Tian thought, wondering how Jiang Cheng got entangled with him.
Zhang Tian watched as Jiang Cheng and Li Pu were about to fight; he was a bit dumbfounded. How did it escalate to this so quickly?
When Zhang Tian saw Li Pu deploy a Cation Cannon, his calm demeanor shattered; now was the time, he thought, pulling Jiang Cheng away was the smartest choice.
The illusion realm is weakest when a person is most emotionally volatile; pulling him out at that moment poses the least risk and makes it easiest to break the illusion.
"Jiang Cheng, Jiang Cheng, wake up; this isn’t real!" Zhang Tian shook Jiang Cheng, calling out.
Jiang Cheng was completely unresponsive, immersed in his scenario. "Jiang Cheng!" Zhang Tian shouted; still, Jiang Cheng showed no reaction.
At this moment, Zhang Tian really panicked. It seemed impossible to wake him. Jiang Cheng and I are different, he comes from a different planet. What does he have that I don’t? Zhang Tian wondered about Jiang Cheng.
Suddenly, Zhang Tian noticed the Jiezhi Bracelet on Jiang Cheng’s wrist. That must be it, brought from his planet. Only that could awaken him. Zhang Tian moved to Jiang Cheng’s side, turning the Jiezhi on his wrist.
Just then, Jiang Cheng suddenly looked at his bracelet. Zhang Tian noticed this and continued to turn the bracelet on Jiang Cheng’s wrist. "Jiang Cheng, can you hear me?"
Jiang Cheng actually looked at his face. "I know you can see me now; listen to me, you’re in an illusion. Come out with me!" Zhang Tian said to Jiang Cheng.
Jiang Cheng looked confused, perhaps distrustful. His expression was doubtful, not trusting Zhang Tian.
"I know you might not believe me, but I know you’re not from this planet—!" Zhang Tian had just said when Jiang Cheng grabbed his wrist, eyes wide, looking at him.
"I can’t explain everything now, but come with me. It’s dangerous here," Zhang Tian held onto the last hope and said.
Zhang Tian saw that opposite them, Li Pu seemed enraged and ready to deal with Jiang Zai. If they didn’t leave now, he’d be dragged into this, too. Zhang Tian thought.
When Zhang Tian saw Jiang Cheng suddenly release his hand and nod at him, there was no time for joy before seeing Li Pu ready to fire the Cation Cannon. Zhang Tian hurriedly pulled Jiang Cheng along, running to the other side; clearly, staying was no longer an option. Zhang Tian could only mentally recite the steps, connecting with the dreamscape and exiting through the opening up ahead.
