Chapter 1314: Chapter 1313: Detector

Qiu Qingqing didn’t even give a glance to the burly man beside her. She merely smiled at Jiang Cheng.

At this moment, the burly man next to them seemed to get angry and reached out to strike Jiang Cheng, "Who are you guys?"

Jiang Cheng caught the whip extended by the burly man with one hand. Jiang Cheng could feel a tingling sensation in his hand; the whip thrown by the burly man was thrown with full force, Jiang Cheng thought.

The people nearby, along with the burly man, were dumbfounded. They kept staring at Jiang Cheng. Jiang Cheng sensed the burly man loosening his grip on the whip gradually. Jiang Cheng pulled the whip over and tossed it to the ground.

The people from Zhou Country were all astonished, looking at Jiang Cheng with excitement in their eyes.

The burly man did not dare to make any rash moves now. He just stared at Jiang Cheng blankly. "You, you..." he said, attempting to take something out of his pocket. Jiang Cheng sensed bad intentions, thinking it seemed like he was about to draw a gun.

"I don’t care who you guys are, but if you stand in my way, you’re going to die!"

The burly man said fiercely, indeed drawing a gun from his pocket and pointing it at Jiang Cheng.

"Don’t move!" Before Jiang Cheng could speak, another man dressed in the same black clothes as the burly man walked over. This man whispered something to the burly man. The burly man’s gaze at Jiang Cheng shifted from anger and disdain to fear and curiosity.

Jiang Cheng watched as the burly man slowly lowered his gun. The stone that had been hanging in Jiang Cheng’s heart finally settled.

Throughout the entire scene, Qiu Qingqing didn’t look at anyone, including when the burly man pulled out the gun; Qiu Qingqing didn’t even show a bit of nervousness.

Jiang Cheng noticed the previously arrogant man had suddenly calmed down, still looking at him with some inexplicable fear. Jiang Cheng, of course, didn’t know what the man said, but this seemed like the best solution. Jiang Cheng picked up the little boy and prepared to leave.

No one tried to stop him. However, Jiang Cheng saw those black and thin people influenced in Zhou Country watching him with excitement.

Qiu Qingqing also walked to the side. "Fairy. Yes, maybe she’s a fairy sent from heaven to rescue us." "Yes," people around kept praising Qiu Qingqing’s appearance, as well as Jiang Cheng’s bravery.

Jiang Cheng couldn’t help but find it amusing after hearing it. These people probably didn’t usually encounter someone like Qiu Qingqing, so they showered her with endless praise.

After walking a few steps, Jiang Cheng suddenly remembered an issue, where is this little boy supposed to go? "Where should he go?" Jiang Cheng asked.

"How would I know?" Qiu Qingqing looked at Jiang Cheng with a puzzled expression.

"I thought you were going to take him there," Jiang Cheng said. "He seems hurt badly, it’s better to take him to that person," Qiu Qingqing said.

It’s strange how Qiu Qingqing describes things so unclearly every time, but Jiang Cheng could still accurately guess that she was talking about the Masked Man. Him?

Can he heal him?" Jiang Cheng asked.

"I don’t know, but there’s no other option," Qiu Qingqing said.

Jiang Cheng had to take the person in front of the Masked Man’s room first. Surprisingly, the door to the Masked Man’s room wasn’t locked and was slightly ajar. Jiang Cheng thought it would be better to keep the boy in his own room, but Qiu Qingqing had already pushed the door open.

Is it okay? Jiang Cheng asked. "After all, it’s still someone else’s room," Jiang Zai said.

"It’s fine. Do you have medicine in your room?" Qiu Qingqing asked.

Jiang Cheng, of course, didn’t have any medicine to treat whip wounds. He entered the room and placed the boy on a bed near the door. The boy was in a deep sleep the entire time, showing no signs of waking up.

Just as Jiang Cheng placed the boy on the bed, he saw Qiu Qingqing already rummaging on the table.

Jiang Cheng didn’t ask further; he knew Qiu Qingqing was definitely looking for medicine. But Jiang Cheng also realized it wasn’t right to search through someone else’s things so openly. Then again, considering these people had tied both him and Qiu Qingqing up yesterday, what’s the harm?

Yet when Qiu Qingqing accurately found the medicine, Jiang Cheng was still somewhat surprised. He saw Qiu Qingqing hand him the medicine, indicating he should apply it to the boy’s wounds.

"Me?" Jiang Cheng asked. He felt he was under no obligation, and this was indeed a task he had never done before. It truly was a small challenge.

"Do you not know guys and girls shouldn’t touch each other lightly?" Qiu Qingqing stuffed the medicine into Jiang Cheng’s hand and left.

Holding the medicine bottle, Jiang Cheng was genuinely bewildered.

Jiang Cheng gently turned the boy over to lie on his stomach, attempting to remove his clothes. However, the entire back was already a mass of bloody flesh. The skin and flesh were beaten to the point of turning inside out, rendering the clothes sticky with blood, some parts dried and impossible to remove.

Jiang Cheng looked around. On the nearby small table was a black Swiss army knife, which seemed to belong to the Masked Man. Jiang Cheng picked it up and cut open the boy’s clothes.

The boy’s back shocked Jiang Cheng. It was full of scars, many so severe they spanned the entire back. There were even still unhealed scars, and for a moment, Jiang Cheng didn’t know where to start. He decided to begin by disinfecting the wounds first.

Jiang Cheng picked up the medicine and sprinkled some on the boy’s wounds. He noticed the boy appeared to have woken up a bit, furrowing his brows—presumably awakened by the pain, Jiang Cheng thought.

However, the boy just furrowed his brows, then fell back into unconsciousness. Jiang Cheng gently wrapped the bandages and adjusted the blanket over the boy.

Jiang Cheng took a towel and wiped the boy’s face clean, gradually clearing the blood stains to reveal distinct facial features. The boy’s face was very delicate, with long eyelashes like small fans, looking more like a little girl. His skin was very fair. However, Jiang Cheng noticed a long scar across his neck, right at his throat, appearing quite terrifying. This scar must have inflicted significant harm on the boy, Jiang Cheng thought as he walked out.

As soon as he stepped out, he saw Qiu Qingqing standing at the doorway, seemingly deep in thought while gazing into the distance.

"How is it?" Qiu Qingqing asked, turning to look at Jiang Cheng.

"More or less. I’m not a professional," Jiang Cheng said.

Qiu Qingqing turned to look at Jiang Cheng, "Thank you." Jiang Cheng watched this side of Qiu Qingqing, suddenly feeling a sense of unknown melancholy about her.

"Who is he?" Jiang Cheng asked.

"I don’t know either," Qiu Qingqing said casually.

"Would you trust him? That doesn’t seem like your style," Jiang Cheng said, looking at Qiu Qingqing. He knew that there were still many things Qiu Qingqing hadn’t told him about this place, but those weren’t the most important.

"Let’s put it this way, he has been watching me. I think he might be the person I’m looking for. So, I brought him back," Qiu Qingqing said.

"What kind of person are you looking for exactly?" Jiang Cheng asked.

"Someone who can take us out," Qiu Qingqing said, "You’ll know by then. Knowing too much now is pointless," Qiu Qingqing said lightly, staring into the distant grass absentmindedly.

Jiang Cheng just thought the Masked Man would soon bring Qiu Qingqing’s geological survey instrument, but now whether he and Qiu Qingqing could take away the White Flower Stone they needed was still uncertain.
