As for Zhou Yang’s simple and brutal suggestion to cripple Oda Kunoichi, Lin Feng naturally disagreed... after all, if Xiang Wang had really fallen for her, he wouldn’t let Zhou Yang treat Oda Kunoichi like a prisoner of war. If Zhou Yang really did that, Xiang Wang would probably go all out against him!
"Use your damn brain... you really want to completely fall out with Fatty?" Lin Feng rolled his eyes at Zhou Yang and said.
"Then just let her out!" Zhou Yang looked totally unconcerned. "Those guys who came to mess with us last time weren’t from the Brutal Shadow Organization, they were from Tiansha... Fatty already checked it out. The people Brutal Shadow sent to China last time went quiet as soon as they entered the country, like they went off to carry out some other mission!"
"So what you’re saying is, Oda Kunoichi didn’t leak anything to Brutal Shadow, and we wronged her?" Lin Feng looked at Zhou Yang, frowning as he asked.
"I’m afraid so!" Zhou Yang nodded.
Lin Feng fell into thought. He didn’t want to keep Oda Kunoichi locked up forever and let Xiang Wang keep sinking into this dazed depression, but he also didn’t want to trust Oda Kunoichi too much and end up putting Xiang Wang or everyone else in danger. It was a real dilemma!
"So what should we do?" Lin Feng looked at Zhou Yang with a bitter smile and asked in a low voice.
"I don’t know either, unless we have some way to keep that woman under constant surveillance so she can’t pull anything. Otherwise I really don’t know how we’re supposed to deal with her!" Zhou Yang pointed at Xiang Wang, grinning as he said, "Or we could get Fatty to snap out of it and stop being so obsessed... it’s just a woman, right? There are plenty of flowers all over the damn world!"
"Fuck... hearing that line come out of your mouth, I’m getting goosebumps all over!" Lin Feng gave Zhou Yang a contemptuous look. It was seriously the first time he’d heard anything vaguely poetic out of Zhou Yang’s mouth, and it felt a bit creepy!
"Tch, I’m actually very cultured, okay? You just never knew how to appreciate me before!" Zhou Yang shook his head and boasted shamelessly.
"Heh..." Lin Feng ignored Zhou Yang and instead gently patted Xiang Wang’s shoulder, calling out to him, "Fatty, wake up, I’ve got something to say to you!"
"Huh... Boss, Brother Zhou, when did you get here?" Xiang Wang snapped out of his daze, staring at Lin Feng and Zhou Yang in surprise, blurting out the question.
This kid is really gone... Lin Feng shook his head. With Xiang Wang’s level of alertness, he’d probably get hacked up and still not know what happened! Looked like if he didn’t sort out this Oda Kunoichi situation today, he couldn’t count on Xiang Wang for anything in the future.
"We haven’t been here long, maybe half an hour..." Zhou Yang answered with a cheerful grin.
"Ah?" Xiang Wang stared at Zhou Yang, clearly startled.
"Enough about that. Clean yourself up, we’re taking you to see your Oda..." Lin Feng waved his hand and pointed at Xiang Wang’s slightly greasy-looking body, frowning as he spoke.
"Go see Oda...?" The moment he heard that, Xiang Wang instantly perked up. His eyes went wide and burned as he stared at Lin Feng; all the previous gloom and daze vanished in a flash, like he’d turned into a different person.
"Pathetic! Go take a shower and change into a fresh set of clothes!" Lin Feng couldn’t help knocking him on the head...
"Okay, okay... Boss, wait right here, I’ll be right back!" Xiang Wang chuckled, then shot off into his room like a puff of smoke...
About ten minutes later, Xiang Wang came out looking completely renewed. His hair was still wet, and he’d even put on a suit, trying to look all flashy. Lin Feng and Zhou Yang could only feel waves of disdain in their hearts when they saw him.
After Zhou Yang mocked Xiang Wang a few times, squinting at him with obvious contempt, he drove over in his Rolls-Royce Phantom, picked up Lin Feng and Xiang Wang, and sped all the way for half an hour to Wu Family Village on the outskirts of Jiangzhou City, stopping in front of the newly built complex of Changfeng Security Company.
The few brothers stationed there were, unsurprisingly, playing cards again. As soon as they saw Zhou Yang’s car stop, they tossed their cards aside and trotted over, fawning smiles on their faces as they greeted:
"Brother Zhou, Brother Feng, Brother Fatty... here on business today?!"
"Yeah... nothing out of the ordinary going on, right?" Zhou Yang puffed out his chest smugly and casually checked in with the younger guys.
"Nope. It’s the middle of nowhere out here, and that village nearby has completely relocated. Hardly anyone comes through. Normally nothing happens. At night we pull down the shutters, and we’ve got brothers taking turns on guard with real hardware, so even less chance of anything going wrong!" The young guy in front, pretty fair-skinned, gave Zhou Yang a grin and reported in an orderly way.
"Last time I came, it didn’t seem like it was you guys on duty. Rotating shifts, huh?" Zhou Yang looked at the fair-faced kid, asking in a slightly odd tone.
"Yeah... Brother Zhou, you know how it is. It’s the sticks out here, brothers don’t even have anywhere to go blow off steam. Brother Nan was worried that if we’re cooped up too long, trouble’s more likely, so he has two teams of us rotating shifts watching this place..." The fair-faced kid explained to Zhou Yang smoothly.
"Oh! What’s your name?" Zhou Yang gave the kid a satisfied look and casually asked. The kid seemed pretty sharp; maybe he could be promoted later.
"My name’s Wu Xiaobin. You can call me Little Wu or Little Bin, Brother Zhou..." Wu Xiaobin smiled slightly at Zhou Yang and said sincerely.
"Alright then, Little Wu, enough chatter. The Boss, Fatty and I are heading down below to take a look. You guys keep an eye on things up here..." Zhou Yang tossed out the orders casually. "Remember, it’s fine to play cards to kill time, but don’t get too wrapped up in it, and absolutely don’t start gambling for money and wreck everyone’s feelings! If anything happens, you know what it means—the consequences will be serious!"
"Got it, Brother Zhou... we wouldn’t dare let our guard down!" Wu Xiaobin seemed to think of something and shrank his neck a little, answering very honestly. His gaze even carried a hint of fear as he glanced at Lin Feng.
"Get to it!" Zhou Yang shook his head, then led Lin Feng and Xiang Wang over to the secret elevator that led down underground.
In the elevator, Xiang Wang looked incredibly worked up. His whole body was trembling, and he was even muttering to himself, like he was rehearsing what he was going to say later...
"Fatty, relax!" Lin Feng frowned. He really hadn’t expected Xiang Wang’s mental age to be like some fifteen- or sixteen-year-old kid. Way too immature.
"Oh, okay..." Hearing Lin Feng call him, Xiang Wang nodded, glanced back at Lin Feng, and gave an embarrassed little smile.
Zhou Yang just chuckled again and didn’t say anything more.
The elevator soon reached the basement. With a ding, the automatic doors slid open, revealing the underground shooting range. Zhou Yang led Lin Feng and Xiang Wang around the elevator, and they saw several heavy iron doors set into the wall behind it...
