Chapter 2136: Chapter 2137: Get Out
"How long has it been?"
"It’s been almost an hour, I think."
The rest of the people yawned with boredom. They had transitioned from initial shock to a look of indifference.
From the start until now, Lin Chen was seen constantly dodging while the young man followed closely behind, aggressive and intimidating. The crowd felt as if Lin Chen resembled a reclusive master enduring humiliation, unwilling to strike unless absolutely necessary.
Otherwise, given the strength he just exhibited, the young man may not be his match, some thought inwardly.
"Qian Ning, maybe let’s call it off," someone suggested.
"Call it off my ass!" Qian Ning retorted with increasing exhaustion, breathing lightly.
"An hour, is this already the limit?" Lin Chen sensed his Spiritual Energy rapidly depleting from his Dantian, leaving an emptiness he felt keenly.
He wasn’t aware that this was due to channeling Spiritual Energy to his hands, fearing that if used for attack, it would have long been consumed. Despite his powerful body, his cultivation level couldn’t be faked.
"Let’s end it then."
Lin Chen suddenly halted and stood firm, his gaze cold as he looked at Qian Ning. For some inexplicable reason, his eyes made Qian Ning feel as though he was being stared down by a furious beast.
"Ha, do you think I’m like those weaklings?"
The young man laughed lightly, recalling his own level of cultivation, steadied his mind, yet his grip involuntarily intensified, the glow between his hands growing brighter, transforming into a blade of light poised to pierce Lin Chen’s chest.
"Even if I can’t kill you, I want to teach you a lesson!" The young man thought cruelly with a grin.
But within moments, he plunged into shock, as the blade of light seemed to sink into a swamp, its tip caught firmly, unable to move.
"Impossible!" the young man roared in disbelief, as this defied his understanding.
"Had enough?" Lin Chen asked coolly.
After these few days of encounters, unlike the first day’s bewildering encounter with the Crimson Flame Sect members, he clearly recognized his body’s strength after resisting Li’s strike.
These people here, their Spiritual Energy naturally fell short compared to the Crimson Flame Sect elder. Such an attack posed no fear to him. Qi Refinement level six? So what?
"My turn."
Ignoring Qian Ning’s bewildered expression, Lin Chen threw a punch, causing shockwaves around him, and landed it on Qian Ning’s vulnerable abdomen.
Though Qian Ning had steeled himself, against Lin Chen’s strike, he fell like a severed kite.
With a splash, Qian Ning’s body plunged back into the pool. Rising slowly, he held his stomach, retching blood that stained the pool’s waters beneath him.
"Qian Ning, are you... alright?"
The crowd gasped in alarm, rushing to Qian Ning’s side, aiding him to the shoreline, showing some concern.
"He’s fine, just injured his muscles and bones, he might be unable to fight for a few months," Lin Chen stated blandly.
"You..." Qian Ning weakly began, finding it hard to believe that someone in Qi Refinement level one could possess such power.
Little did he know, Lin Chen had restrained himself. Though the man was odious, Lin Chen was in the Green Ripple Sect territory, needing to tread carefully.
Already a foe of the Crimson Flame Sect, offending the Green Ripple Sect would complicate Lin Chen’s path in this realm.
Elsewhere, he might have killed him outright. To swiftly reach the profound realm, Lin Chen had to temper his temperament.
"Remember next time, some people are beyond your provocation." Lin Chen said evenly, his voice booming, echoing it throughout the building’s surroundings.
His experience made him keenly aware there were many presences nearby, serving a warning to deter further disturbances.
"Let’s... go." Qian Ning gritted his teeth, casting a venomous glance at Lin Chen before speaking softly.
"Hold on, they can leave, but you cannot," Lin Chen said flatly.
Qian Ning’s expression changed, "What do you want?"
"Just as you previously said, crawl out of here," Lin Chen replied coldly.
"You!..." Fury surged in Qian Ning; his pale face flushed red as he shouted, "Don’t push me too far!"
"Too far?" Lin Chen muttered, shaking his head slightly before sneering, "Weren’t you the same just now? Am I bullying you now because I’m stronger?"
"If you were stronger, would you spare me?" Lin Chen speculated, "No, your methods would likely be nastier, so why should I pity someone who came to provoke first?"
Lin Chen grinned, displaying his teeth, leaning forward a bit toward Qian Ning, and coldly laughed, "If you don’t crawl, I can throw you out, but I might not control the force well."
Qian Ning’s gaze flickered as he frantically weighed his options. Being thrown out would lead to greater consequences; Lin Chen’s earlier punch terrified him.
Crawling out meant losing face before his peers.
"Three"
"Two"
Lin Chen slowly counted down, giving Qian Ning no time for hesitation.
"One"
As the countdown ended, Lin Chen reached forward to grab the less than two meters away Qian Ning.
Before his hand could reach him, Qian Ning retreated half a step in fear and quickly said, "I’ll crawl, I’ll crawl."
Faced with pain and humiliation, Qian Ning hesitated briefly but eventually chose humiliation.
Slowly, he crouched, curling his body, gritting his teeth while enduring shame, he rolled toward the door.
As for the others, Lin Chen didn’t make the same request, as they didn’t seem as odious as Qian Ning.
Lin Chen watched coldly as Qian Ning rolled out of the room. Standing at the bamboo door, Qian Ning cast a venomous look at Lin Chen.
Lin Chen appeared indifferent, unfazed. Though Qian Ning might cause trouble again, at least he had intimidated many; killing a chicken to scare the monkeys, as the saying goes.
