Chapter 2260: Chapter 2261: Relocation
Lu Kang slowly smiled, revealing his sinister teeth, and he started to move slowly.
His steps tapped lightly on the stone bricks, producing a click-clack sound, like the roar of a demon, approaching Lin Chen in a low, menacing manner.
"Kill him!"
"No! Make sure he lives, torture him to death!"
Wild laughter resounded from Tao Yuyu’s mouth. Having never suffered such a loss before, driven by Lin Chen’s provocation, Tao Yuyu was nearly in madness, cruelly staring at Lin Chen.
In the meantime, the distance between Lu Kang and Tao Yuyu continuously decreased, causing the smile on Tao Yuyu’s face to grow even wider, as if he could already envision Lin Chen’s impending torment.
"Finally done."
Suddenly, a highly unfamiliar voice appeared in the field, and then a figure stepped out from behind a massive pillar in the hall.
His forehead was drenched in sweat, and his clothes seemed to be soaked, sticking to his body, which seemed to cause great discomfort, prompting him to pinch at the clothing with his fingers, furrowing his brows slightly.
"Guo Zhi, brother!"
Upon seeing the newcomer, Sun Tianming’s eyes widened in surprise, with an expression of disbelief.
He couldn’t understand why Guo Zhi appeared here.
Sun Tianming clearly remembered that just shortly before, they hadn’t entered together with Guo Zhi. How could he suddenly appear here?
This was truly perplexing.
"No choice, if I didn’t arrive early to set up, I’m afraid there wouldn’t have been enough time." Guo Zhi said mildly.
"Set up what?" Sun Tianming was even more puzzled. Guo Zhi’s sudden appearance here left Sun Tianming at a loss and unable to discern whether he was a friend or foe.
"What matters if more people come! They’ll all die! All of them!"
Before Guo Zhi could speak, Tao Yuyu interrupted, his gaze excessively ferocious, showing extreme madness beyond his savage appearance.
"That’s not necessarily true."
Guo Zhi’s face bore an inscrutable smile, brimming with confidence in his recent preparations.
"Ha, if that’s the case, I’ll kill you first!"
Originally heading towards Lin Chen, Lu Kang, after Guo Zhi’s appearance, also turned his eerie gaze, and at the moment the words fell, his silhouette, like a rainbow light, swiftly charged toward Guo Zhi!
"Be careful! His strength is terrifyingly high!"
Sun Tianming glanced sidelong and shouted towards Guo Zhi. He was well aware of Guo Zhi’s strength, knowing that although his Formation skills were decent, his personal combat ability was far inferior to others.
If he were to take a hit from Lu Kang, his life might be in serious jeopardy.
However, despite such a warning, Lu Kang seemed entirely unconcerned. His lips curled up slightly, displaying a confident smile.
Then, he crossed his hands in front of him, rapidly forming series of intricate Formation seals with a swift pace.
This formation’s completion took barely half a breath’s time.
Suddenly, a white light appeared, seemingly breaking open a rift from below, shooting towards the hall ceiling.
The light extended to the hall’s top without breaking through, instead transforming into a water curtain. On the water curtain, the Green Ripple Sect’s plaza came into view, where several people stood together, the leader weaving strange Formation seals identical to those Guo Zhi had just formed!
Such a scene inevitably caused everyone in the field to look up and gaze at the sky, where the silhouettes steadied their hearts somewhat.
"It’s the elders! The elders!"
Someone cheered, raising their hands as if forgetting they were following Tao Yuyu.
Although only half an hour had passed, for these people it felt like an eternity. Witnessing the deaths of fellow disciples and narrowly escaping death in battle, they longed immensely for the sect’s peace.
Amidst their shouts, the elders on the plaza finished their Formation seals, followed by white light descending from the plaza as well!
The abruptly falling beam seemed to pierce dimensions, with the two beams of white light entering the water curtain simultaneously from their respective origins.
One at the hall top, the other at the chest of the enormous stone statue.
As the two combined, the white light intensified, causing everyone present to experience temporary blindness.
Even Lu Kang, powerful as he was, couldn’t see through the thick whiteness, and Guo Zhi, who was originally just a short distance away, disappeared within the white mist’s illusion instantly!
Lu Kang roared, seemingly filled with unwillingness. His fists swung madly, emitting vigorous force attempting to strike the suddenly vanished Guo Zhi out of hiding.
Yet, these futile efforts bore no effect. Despite Lu Kang’s madness, it only served to exhaust himself without results.
"Damn it. How could it be like this, why is there still a person here!"
Meanwhile, Tao Yuyu also roared in anger, his eyes flickering with unease. Being exposed now, if caught by the Green Ripple Sect, he feared being thrown into the water prison.
The thought made Tao Yuyu tremble with fear. Never a hard-hearted person and compounded by the water prison’s cruel punishments, his fear continued to spread.
He must not be captured by them!
Tao Yuyu screamed internally, hoping Lu Kang might intervene.
The white light persisted for several breaths, then suddenly vanished, and the scenery before them changed abruptly.
Though still inside the hall, outside it wasn’t the previous stairs but a flat plain.
On this plain, numerous elders had gathered, their cold gazes piercing through the empty hall space to land murderously on Lu Kang and Tao Yuyu within.
"Not good! It’s a transportation Array!"
Tao Yuyu gasped, taking a breath of cold air. He hadn’t expected that Guo Zhi’s setup was actually a transportation Array!
This hall had been moved out of the spiritual realm forcefully. The amount of Spiritual Energy consumed must have been enormous!
No wonder Guo Zhi mentioned taking quite a while to arrange it.
"Jie’er!"
Chen Lin first lost his composure. He softly called out, shooting from the plaza straight to Chen Jie’s side.
He grasped Chen Jie’s fragrant shoulders, scrutinizing her up and down.
Seeing that Chen Jie had only suffered minor injuries, he let out a small sigh of relief.
"The taste of the outside world..."
Lu Kang took a fierce breath, inhaling the fresh air, his eyes flickering with excitement.
"A hundred years, it’s been almost a hundred years!"
Lu Kang spread his hands wide, laughing with extreme excitement. For nearly a century, he had waited for this moment for too long.
