Chapter 2282: Chapter 2283: Healing

As the elder took Lin Chen’s pulse, the wrinkles on his face grew deeper, and he occasionally tilted his head, his murky gaze containing a thoughtful expression.

"Strange."

The elder whispered to himself, though what he found peculiar was unclear. After speaking, he said no more and instead turned to a corner of the room.

In that corner stood a shabby wooden cabinet. It seemed that due to ancient age, its wood was decayed, with many areas gradually cracking, and under the dim light, the cabinet appeared even more decrepit.

The elder walked over, opened the only drawer, which was engulfed in darkness. The dim candlelight seemed to be swallowed by it, not revealing any scene within.

Yet the space inside appeared vast, as the elder’s thin hand reached in, disappearing entirely.

His head slightly tilted, his arm moved gently, as if he were stirring water, searching for the item within.

After a few breaths, the elder finally found what he needed. He slowly withdrew his hand, revealing a peculiar herb in its palm.

The herb was blue-green in color, but upon the elder’s retrieval, the rich shade rapidly faded, transforming into a transparent hue.

Without delay, the elder took swift steps towards Lin Chen and crouched down beside him.

Holding the herb in one hand, he placed the other on it, gently snapping it apart. From the fracture, a thick liquid oozed out.

The elder set the leaves aside, gently tilting Lin Chen’s chin, causing his mouth to open slightly. He placed the herb near Lin Chen’s parted lips, allowing the viscous liquid to drip into his mouth.

The potion slid down his throat, and Lin Chen felt a stirring within himself. His chaotic consciousness, immersed in Hei An, wandered aimlessly in this realm of darkness.

It was at the brink of consciousness sinking, surrounded by unbearable chaos, where Lin Chen was trapped.

Within his mental sea, a strange black figure gathered all the Evil Qi and stirred the old ailments residing in Lin Chen’s consciousness. The withdrawal of these black mists caused the injuries Lin Chen sustained in the underground palace to expand into a growing fissure, forming a black hole that seemed to consume his remaining consciousness.

In such circumstances, the current state emerged.

Initially, his consciousness remained clear, but in the surrounding darkness, Lin Chen’s clarity dulled.

Because here, you couldn’t sense the world’s passage, couldn’t feel signs of life, nor could you find an end.

All that remained was Lin Chen’s numb figure.

Yet everything changed when the elder dripped the liquid from the leaves into Lin Chen’s mouth.

In the midst of the chaotic darkness, it was as if a sudden rift tore open.

Through that opening, the faint outside light was visible, though weak, it illuminated Lin Chen’s path.

With the invasion of light, Lin Chen’s expression in darkness stilled, replaced instantly by an expression of ecstatic joy.

Like a drowning person seeing a lifesaving straw. This scene brought him joyous relief, as his consciousness race towards it.

...

Meanwhile, outside, the elder continued breaking the remaining leaves from the herb. The herb had five leaves, and with multiple snaps, it quickly became a bare main stem, its original blue-green shades dispersed, leaving a transparent polish. Like a piece of jade.

"Do your best, leave the rest to fate; whether you can rise above this depends on your destiny."

With the last trace of liquid entering Lin Chen’s mouth, the elder sighed lightly, understanding Lin Chen’s condition, speaking softly to himself.

He did not stop his actions there.

After wiping the sweat from his brow, the elder began to move again.

This time, he picked up the herb leaves placed beside Lin Chen, raising Lin Chen’s right arm lightly.

The wounds on his right arm were appalling, bones protruded several inches from the body, the blood had dried, leaving only desolate remains.

Luckily, the elder was a worldly man, his expression remained unfazed. Holding the leaves in one hand, he gently brushed them over Lin Chen’s bones.

Then, the elder eagerly pushed the protruding bones back inside the body with crude force.

Next, he picked another, smoothing the wound outside the arm.

Curiously, the unidentified herb had marvelous effects under the elder’s actions, healing the injuries on the arm rapidly, restoring the right arm in an instant.

Yet the elder did not show joy. Healing surface wounds is but a hundred days for bone-healing, even without the elder, Lin Chen could recover swiftly.

But the internal broken bones were different, even if placed inside by the elder, the recovery was agonizingly slow. This required time, for the freshly applied herb effects to manifest.

The elder now moved to Lin Chen’s left side, repeating the restorative process on Lin Chen’s left arm.

The remaining branch was smeared onto other wounds on Lin Chen’s body.

Having completed everything, Lin Chen’s body glowed with a transparent luster, a result of the herb usage.

Thus, the external injuries on Lin Chen’s body were fully healed.

"Can you survive this ordeal depends on your destiny."

With hands behind his back, the elder walked slowly, having completed his task. In doing so, he sacrificed a precious herb. His work was done, leaving fate to play its part with Lin Chen.

He then approached the tiny form of a white tiger, where white fur continued to seep fresh blood from past wounds.

This time, the elder did not complicate matters. He merely took out some healing herbs, applying them to the tiger’s wounds.

Unlike Lin Chen’s internal consciousness injury, most of the white tiger’s wounds were external; these two can’t be compared together.

Why the white tiger remained unconscious, it was merely due to excessive energy loss earlier.

Once rested, the white tiger could naturally awaken.
