Chapter 2322: Chapter 2323: Leave

"I can only help you once at most, if you need to leave, just shout."

As Lin Chen kept retreating, a raspy voice sounded on both of his sides.

It was as if he hadn’t spoken for years. His voice was very obscure and he spoke slowly with pauses, but fortunately, Lin Chen could still understand.

Lin Chen knew this was the voice of that shadowy existence.

It was also the first time he heard such a voice from the shadow, inevitably surprised.

But now wasn’t the time to be distracted. At this moment, Lu Kang was like a ferocious wolf, rampaging forward, a hint of savageness welling up in his eyes.

His gaze fell entirely on the bone blade just a few inches from Lin Chen’s throat. Although the distance wasn’t far, Lin Chen kept floating backward, and although Lu Kang’s attacks were fierce, he couldn’t easily take him down.

"Damn it!"

Lu Kang suddenly bit his teeth, and from the corner of his pale lips, not a trace of blood flowed.

Under such actions, he stomped violently on the ground, and as he stomped, it seemed as if a foreign object was slithering up his arm from beneath his foot.

Then, the bone blade that was poised to attack extended even further with this action.

However, after this move, it could be seen that Lu Kang’s eyes lacked some sparkle, appearing quite dim.

Lin Chen’s expression changed slightly, the sudden extension of the bone blade caught him off guard. This change was extremely quick, happening in just an instant.

In that instant of suddenness, Lin Chen obviously had no time to react to the danger. However, when his body’s instincts sensed danger, his neck tilted slightly backward.

Even so, the sharp point of the pale bone blade still pierced through Lin Chen’s throat a little, leaving a faint circular hole.

From it oozed a trickle of crimson, and Lin Chen felt as if he’d been bitten by a mosquito there. Though the pain wasn’t much, he could feel the heat of the blood flowing down.

His toes tapped the ground wildly again, and Lin Chen’s body drifted backward like willow catkins.

Nevertheless, Lu Kang followed tightly like maggots on a decaying bone, not falling behind in the slightest. Lin Chen’s eyes narrowed slightly, a cold smile appearing at the corner of his mouth.

He suddenly raised his head, his gaze landing on Lu Kang, a chilling intensity surging forth.

Lin Chen roughly estimated that the bone blade hadn’t punctured deep into the skin, the injury was not too severe.

With this thought, the viciousness in Lin Chen’s eyes grew even more intense.

Then his head sharply swayed to one side deflecting the bone blade.

During this motion, the sharpness grazed Lin Chen’s neck, leaving a faint bloodstain.

Though the mark was shallow, blood nonetheless trickled from it.

Yet Lin Chen couldn’t bother with this now, his gaze chillingly cold, and as he twisted, the attack slid past his neck and to the side of his head.

This situation made Lu Kang’s gaze shrink abruptly; he couldn’t believe anyone would be so ruthless, not just to the enemy, but to himself as well.

And at that very moment, Lin Chen’s hands, which had been clasping two longswords, suddenly parted.

His foot slammed into the ground, forcibly halting his original motion, a maneuver that caught Lu Kang off guard, his reaction a fraction too slow.

In that slight discrepancy, Lu Kang’s body surged with inertia, pushing forward, his arm continuing the forward strike, stabbing into the air.

Lin Chen’s pupils contracted, locking onto the opportunity, then his two longswords, one on the left and one on the right, suddenly slashed down towards the center, precisely where Lu Kang’s arm was.

The two longswords, each incredibly sharp, far beyond ordinary blades.

When pressed towards the center, there was only a momentary halt, then they cut Lu Kang’s arm cleanly off!

The fractured area was exceptionally smooth, without a hint of burrs.

Afterwards, Lin Chen’s body lightly tapped the ground with his toes again, drifting to one side. The Tianyan Ancient Sword in his right hand flickered with a green light, slipping into his Storage Ring.

At the same time, another Spirit Pill appeared in his hand, which he quickly swallowed.

All of this happened in the blink of an eye; no one present, except for Lin Chen, anticipated such a turn of events.

Perhaps because of the long silence, this shift caught even Lu Kang by surprise.

His figure stopped, staring blankly at his slowly falling arm until it hit the ground with a thud, snapping him back to reality.

"I hope the senior can take me away from here!"

Lin Chen took a deep breath, and before making any move, he shouted out his words first.

As his voice just fell, he vanished into the wind in the next moment, disappearing from where he stood.

Eventually, Lu Kang gasped deeply, appearing particularly furious.

"Lin Chen!"

He roared, his voice echoing continuously on the empty ground, shaking the branches and leaves in the mountains and forests.

Not only was Lu Kang angry, he was nearly exploding with rage. One side of his body was missing an arm, while the other side was clenched into an angry fist, devoid of color, but with bulging veins showing his extreme anger.

After a long time, he picked up the arm on the ground, his mouth twitching constantly.

This was a body Lu Kang temporarily used, not cherishing it too much, but despite no sentimental attachments, he had no better body to substitute at the moment.

His original body was still unknown to him, and how long would it take to restore his former strength?

Lu Kang looked at the scattered remains on the ground, his gaze cold, his face horribly stern. He walked to a spot and looked at a few sacrificial priests who still had fresh blood. He crouched down.

His hand placed on the chest of a black-robed priest, and with a grasping motion, it seemed as though something foreign was about to leap out from the priest’s heart.

The heart, which had originally stopped beating, started to beat once more with this action.

Lu Kang’s hand slowly lifted upwards, and as he did so, something appeared ready to burst out of the priest’s chest.

A moment later, it was a few strands of essence blood, dark red, extremely viscous, even exuding a faint purple hue. This was human essence blood, utterly pure.

Lu Kang applied the essence blood to the wound of his severed arm, then continued to attach it. At a visibly discernible speed, the essence blood acted like a miraculous Spirit Pill, reconnecting Lu Kang’s wound.
