Chapter 2325: Chapter 2326: Slay

"Luckily, I wasn’t too late."

Lin Chen couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief. He took a deep breath, then squatted down to check the injuries on Little White.

The injuries were extremely severe, due to the toxins emitted from the blade.

"Don’t be afraid."

Lin Chen gently stroked Little White’s fur.

Under his caress, Little White’s emotions seemed to ease and began to relax slightly.

Lin Chen then gently moved Little White’s forepaw away from its chest. His expression was solemn, and he finally understood why earlier Tang Ming and Jiang Ningyan hadn’t removed the weapon embedded in Little White.

It was because it was embedded too deeply, with only half an inch of the hilt exposed outside, and Tang Ming, lacking sufficient Spiritual Energy, simply didn’t have the strength to extract it.

Lin Chen’s eyes flickered for a moment. He looked deeply at the spot where the sand and gravel gradually dissipated.

Then he withdrew his gaze, placing one hand on the wound, took a deep breath, and channeled Spiritual Energy through his Dantian to his fingertips.

His hand formed a claw shape, resting on Little White’s soft fur, as if grasping at something invisible.

A moment later, Lin Chen’s hand sharply yanked back, and amidst a painful howl, a blade several inches long emerged from Little White’s body.

It was entirely red, with its tip smeared with something like shredded meat, caused by the blade’s proximity to Little White’s heart.

Lin Chen threw the blade far away, and then he took several medicinal herbs out from his Storage Ring, pouring a good amount into Little White’s mouth.

As the medicines took effect, Little White’s breathing gradually stabilized, but its wounds remained, and its recovery was far slower than Lin Chen’s.

It initially attempted to struggle to stand, but Lin Chen placed a hand on its body, gently shook his head at it, indicating that it shouldn’t move rashly; such injuries required rest.

Lin Chen then stood up, gave some elixirs to Tang Ming next to him, and proceeded toward the direction where the sand had started to dance.

Lin Chen was very angry. His anger manifested in an extremely somber expression; unconsciously, he was already grasping the longsword in his hand.

His gaze was piercingly cold; although the third eye on his forehead had already closed, the slit between his eyebrows seemed to tremble slightly with his fury.

...

As the sand and gravel nearly dissipated, amidst the dim and yellow scenery, a figure emerged slowly from that place, coughing dryly.

It was none other than Jin Yuwen. Now his face no longer bore the brutality from before, but instead paled slightly.

It was only natural; just as Lin Chen had flung him aside, he had kicked him in the chest.

How strong was Lin Chen’s physical strength? That kick naturally broke several of Jin Yuwen’s ribs, the broken bones piercing into his body, causing waves of sharp pain.

Which made Jin Yuwen cough up fragments of flesh uncontrollably.

"Damn it, it’s you again!"

Jin Yuwen’s gaze was venomous. Back at the lake, he had tried to strike at Tang Ming, only to be stopped by Lin Chen. Now again, how could this not infuriate Jin Yuwen!

As he spoke, he coughed up several mouthfuls of fresh blood, hurriedly consuming some elixirs.

Even though the elixirs were decent, the ribs were too severely broken for significant improvement, let alone a full recovery.

"Why did you harm it?"

Lin Chen lowered his eyelids, dragging the longsword on the ground, emitting a piercing screech.

"Do you need a reason? Cough cough..."

Jin Yuwen coughed dryly, although heavily injured and unable to mobilize his Spiritual Energy, he still spoke with no politeness.

"If you know what’s good for you, you better kneel and apologize. Otherwise, neither the Crimson Flame Sect nor the Jin family will spare you!"

Looking at Lin Chen approaching, Jin Yuwen added, mentioning the Crimson Flame Sect and the Jin family, his source of confidence.

One held a significant position in the city, while the other was an enormous sect. Common cultivators wouldn’t dare to offend them.

Jin Yuwen assumed Lin Chen would be the same.

"Is that so?"

Lin Chen continued to walk slowly forward, neither hurried nor panicked. Though angry, his tone grew increasingly calm. As he looked at Jin Yuwen, his eyes remained indifferent as ever, his deep pupils revealing no hint of emotional fluctuation.

But this gaze made Jin Yuwen’s expression sink, his heart quaking. Lin Chen’s tone and demeanor suggested that he didn’t regard the Crimson Flame Sect at all.

"It’s unfortunate, a Crimson Flame Sect disciple was also killed by me not too long ago."

Lin Chen kept walking forward, speaking casually; the distance between them was merely two or three meters now. Jin Yuwen, observing Lin Chen’s current demeanor, felt a chill in his heart.

"You, you actually dared to kill a disciple of my sect!"

Hearing Lin Chen’s words, Jin Yuwen was aghast, his body trembling uncontrollably, suddenly realizing the dreadfulness of the person before him.

Jin Yuwen staggered backward, panic-stricken, fearing Lin Chen’s lack of fear from the Crimson Flame Sect’s retaliation, leaving him without his greatest support. He felt anxious; he was not even twenty years old and didn’t want to die.

"Spare me!"

Jin Yuwen suddenly gritted his teeth, collapsing to his knees and giving a hard kowtow, for nothing compared to one’s life, what was a bit of dignity worth?

Lin Chen was momentarily taken aback, evidently not expecting such a reaction from Jin Yuwen.

"Well, this is quite intriguing."

Lin Chen chuckled mirthlessly, for just moments ago, Jin Yuwen was yelling for Lin Chen to kneel and apologize, but now, upon hearing of Lin Chen killing a Crimson Flame Sect disciple, he reacted like this.

"Yes, yes, as long as you spare my life, anything goes," Jin Yuwen said with a chagrined, pale face.

In his view, nothing was scarier than death.

"I never said I’d spare your life."

Lin Chen said coldly, as his sword descended and slashed in the direction of Jin Yuwen’s neck.

A jet of bright red blood spurted several meters high, and as it splattered down, Jin Yuwen’s body slowly fell.

His head rolled off to the side, still carrying a hint of unwillingness and disbelief in his eyes.
