It was not that she wanted to be obvious. It was just that Bai Li looked too calm, too reliable, like she could handle anything at all, and that kind of person always made Yan Cijin feel like she needed to look twice. Soon, the security door was opened, and after Yan Cijin came in, Bai Li quickly closed the bedroom door. Looking at the messy living room, Bai Li said somewhat embarrassedly, "I’ll quickly tidy up the room first, otherwise you won’t have a place to sleep tonight."

Yan Cijin paused, then looked around the room that was packed so full it almost seemed like the house had been swallowed by supplies. Boxes were stacked near the wall. Bags of rice were tucked beside folded blankets. Bottled water sat in corners like little soldiers waiting for orders. There were even some canned foods lined up in neat rows, though the neatness was kind of fake because the whole place still looked like a warehouse after a storm. She blinked and then muttered, "Wasn’t I with you?" The sentence came out soft, almost shy, but somehow it still sounded like there was a warm little hook hidden inside it. Then, with her ears turning red, she asked, "Should I take a shower now? Wait for me a bit." Bai Li hesitated for a moment and quickly said, "No, shouldn’t we get to work first? Otherwise, it’ll be a waste if I sweat and take a shower later."

Yan Cijin’s hand froze for a second. Her face got even hotter. She looked at Bai Li, then at the room, then back at Bai Li, and the expression on her face was honestly hard to describe. "Are you sure?" she asked, her voice quieter now, like she was trying to keep the weird nervousness in her chest from spilling out too fast. Bai Li nodded very seriously. "Yes, I am." "Okay then, anyway, let’s go to your room first." Yan Cijin said softly, the blush spreading from her cheeks to her neck. Although Bai Li was a little confused, she still opened the door to the room. Anyway, Yan Cijin and the others would be coming in to shower soon. The circulating water system was only installed in Bai Li’s room; the bathroom outside had long been sealed shut with sealant. Bai Li had been proud of that room for a while because it was one of the few places in this apartment that still felt a little like a normal home instead of a survival base.

Yan Cijin followed Bai Li into the room and, seeing that Bai Li wasn’t doing anything, reminded her, "Why don’t you take the initiative? Do I have to be the one to do this?" Bai Li blinked. "Oh, okay." Of course, when it came to tidying up the room and moving supplies, she would definitely need to use her spatial abilities to move things faster. Thinking this, Bai Li came out of the room and started tidying up the supplies in the living room, otherwise there wouldn’t be enough space for Lin Zhongsheng’s supplies later. Yan Cijin was stunned. She hadn’t expected Bai Li to just leave like that. Yan Cijin followed her out blankly, "Is this what you mean by taking the initiative?" Bai Li nodded. She had already started working; that was already very proactive. What was Dr. Yan talking about? "I’ve already started working, haven’t I? Isn’t that being proactive?"

"You said working in my house?" Yan Cijin’s eyes widened as she asked. Bai Li nodded frankly. "Yes, what else? What else can I do? Help me put these things away as neatly as possible, otherwise there won’t be any place to put the things that are moved out of the room later." Yan Cijin didn’t hear a word of Bai Li’s rambling. So she had misunderstood? Bai Li didn’t mean that at all? Yan Cijin’s face turned even redder, and she quickly squatted down to help Bai Li tidy up the things. As she squatted down, the finger cots in her denim shorts pocket fell out and rolled right in front of Bai Li. Bai Li glanced at the packet for a bit, and was about to reach out to pick it up when she saw Yan Cijin pounce on her. Bai Li was knocked down and, of course, didn’t pick up packet. Yan Cijin placed one hand on Bai Li’s shoulder and hurriedly reached for the bottle of medicine with the other.

Only after finally getting the medicine back in her hand did Yan Cijin breathe a long sigh of relief and quickly went to help Bai Li up. "Are you alright?" "I’m fine. I was just trying to get the medicine for you. By the way, are you feeling unwell? What kind of medicine is that? I ordered some commonly used medicines from the hospital before. I can get them for you if you need them." Bai Li sat up from the ground and looked at Yan Cijin. Yan Cijin’s ears turned red, and she mumbled, "It’s nothing important, just ordinary vitamin C tablets." "Oh, that’s good. I have vitamin C at home too. You can ask me for more if you run out." Bai Li said with a smile. Yan Cijin’s smile vanished. Now it seemed that Bai Li had been very polite to her these past few days, without any intention of taking advantage of her. It seemed that she had misunderstood and was still thinking about the promise she made to Bai Li at the hospital. She quickly buried herself in her work, nearly scared to death. If Bai Li saw the birth control pills, Bai Li would feel incredibly embarrassed.

Meanwhile, Bai Li was completely unaware of Yan Cijin’s inner turmoil. Arranging such a large pile of supplies was incredibly tiring. She first had to put all the chilled food from her spatial storage on the living room floor so she could use her spatial storage to move the supplies from one of the bedrooms to the living room.
