Surviving The Fourth Calamity
Chapter 2005 - 581: What’s So Good About Me? I Can ChangeHill gently adjusted the bow tie at his chest, then with a flick of his fingers, stored the Memory Crystal that had just recorded the phrase ’adorable praise’ into his storage ring.
His adventure could only end here.
However, it was already more than enough.
At this moment, Hill could face any storm that came his way.
Draculus would definitely not mention anything related to this world again.
Hill only needed to keep one trump card.
But if he continued to record, it could very likely attract the attention of Rommel, who was now sweeping the scene every few minutes.
Although his expression hadn’t changed much, his sharp gaze proved his inner turmoil.
As for whether he would notice Hillber, who was secretly amused... he could hide in the corner and chuckle; that was already his greatest sincerity.
Even if the two sides officially met in the future, Hill could still present himself with confidence and righteousness.
As long as Draculus didn’t find out, or rather, couldn’t confirm that Hill retained the images.
As for the future... with so many Archmages around!
Who can say, who dares to say, only Hill had such a clever and timely reaction?
Not being caught in the act, the images that leaked in the future would have nothing to do with Hill.
Of course, as long as Draculus remained silent, Hill wouldn’t have to make it a big deal, right?
Hill, very much believed in the comprehension ability of a certain former president.
Indeed, the restless nights of the past were all for this moment of joy today.
-----------------
After Glaysia spoke those words, whether it was the people on the Sia Tower side or the mages of the Tower of Dark Enigma, they all fell into silence instantly.
Even the White Robe mages, who liked vying for favor, couldn’t help but show a trace of pity, and even a bit of admiration in their occasionally sinister glances at Rommel.
In the face of this adorable declaration in front of thousands of people, to remain calm and composed while looking around the audience, maintaining silence, and not even turning to glare at Glaysia, Rommel was truly a man.
Men of course could be praised as adorable, but this tone of ’adorable’ was definitely not a compliment.
Rommel wasn’t as furious as those people thought.
This wasn’t the first time he had heard those two words.
The reason Kamente Tower had delayed until the end, was resolutely unwilling to follow beside them, was because this period had been too stimulating for them.
What was ’adorable’ worth?
Glaysia even inquired in front of Kamente Tower whether his skin being so rosy and fair sometimes made it difficult to control his emotions.
Rommel understood this was teasing him in public, but didn’t quite grasp the deeper meaning of the words... whereas the gasp-inducing Kamente Tower was significantly shocked.
Later, that guy explained to him that in this world there’s a rumor that people with fair, rosy skin have exceptionally strong desires.
Glaysia was directly inviting him, implying that if he had desires, he could look to her to resolve them.
If Rommel hadn’t immediately recognized who this self-proclaimed ’Glaysia’ woman was, what... what could he have done?
This was the Princess of Hell, Draculus could only console himself.
Kamente Tower was also a bit worried he would do something irrational, specifically pulling him to the room to remind him that this was indeed the Master of the Sia Tower... though acting like a female predator, she rarely forces anyone.
Previously, the Sia Tower had similar stories, and there were mages who hadn’t succumbed to her over many years.
Glaysia just liked to tease but didn’t force; she hoped those she liked would sincerely respond to her.
Though this might sound like a joke, and indeed it was.
But at least he still had a bit of leeway to exploit.
Upon confirming that at least more than one person has persistently tangled with this Princess of Hell for centuries, Rommel could only present himself as unwilling to refuse, but determined not to agree.
However, in these few days he actually had... not that he accepted this torment, but his endurance had greatly improved.
Moreover, he learned how to let a certain lady’s words become mere background noise.
What Draculus couldn’t understand was who taught this Princess of Hell such a lousy, unsophisticated, heir-to-riches style of wooing that she blindly believed in.
Don’t devils usually prefer a more elegant and gentle way of communication, holding back a bit?
How did Glaysia... he thought a lot, and still believed that even the flattery the Undead Tribe heaped on pigs back in the day was more pleasant than the words from this Princess’s mouth.
Thus, the Undead Tribe could ride pigs during their travels, while Glaysia could only become the eternally vengeful backdrop in one tragic love story after another.
Although his heart was full of intricate thoughts and curses soaring across three thousand miles, Rommel’s face remained as tight and expressionless as that of a bigwig ignorant of anything, saying not a word... the awkward situation right now did not require his intervention.
The Sia Tower’s silence was actually more beneficial for the Tower of Dark Enigma’s subsequent decisions.
Otherwise, by all rights, when Glaysia appeared to formally announce Sia Tower’s annexation of the Tower of Dark Enigma, asserting her dominance, the three Tower Masters should have demonstrated submission.
But now... whether it’s Ruth, who obviously knows the truth, or Kamente Tower and Nicholson, who probably haven’t thought about it, they all have a chance to catch their breath.
The next time Glaysia formally receives the three of them, she will need a better excuse... That would be after the Magic Tower of Kamente Tower is completely built.
Mages may appear to be without rules, but in reality, there are many hidden regulations.
It is customary not to disturb a mage before determining their place.
Back then, Glaysia didn’t choose to meet each relocating mage from the Tower of Dark Enigma, so she can’t suddenly change her approach now.
Of course, these rules only hold meaning in the presence of those willing to uphold them.
However, Rommel knows that while Glaysia may be a bit reckless, she does not intend to break this rule.
The journey so far has proven everything... She hasn’t flamboyantly summoned the subordinates of Sia Tower.
Rommel can stick to his plan exactly because of this.
Luckily, the devil is lawful, true... but why him?
What does she see in him?
Rommel’s gaze becomes increasingly silent... Can someone tell him a reason, so he can change?
-----------------
Rosero gently leaned in to take a look at the Hellish Princess, who was still delightedly clinging to Rommel’s arm, and silently clicked his tongue.
Glaysia’s male pets only desire her good things, not her true affections, which isn’t entirely incomprehensible, right?
Even those battle angels who followed Asmodeus to hell always chose to kick her when she’s down amid Glaysia’s pleas, which Rosero also understands.
How can those who love beautiful music and scenery accept such direct, mushy, and vulgar language?
However, Glaysia seems to think that beings in hell for a long time will, like her, dislike such false delicacy.
And then she used her so-called sincerity to lethally ’touch’ everyone.
The only one unbothered by this torment is the Lord of Hell.
However, only Asmodeus can provide the Power of Silence to the Hellish Princess at any time.
-----------------
Fengo stood in the Cloud Realm, really reluctant to go down.
But he couldn’t truly keep the situation in a stalemate like that.
The smiling Glaysia, after that unlucky Rommel refused to respond to her, was starting to want to vent on someone else.
Although Fengo didn’t care about the lives below, he couldn’t let the plan that reached this successful point fail for such a ridiculous reason.
Fengo couldn’t help but glare at Rosero: This guy’s just too slick!
He’s clearly the manager of the White Tower, yet he’s so... timid.
He took a heavy breath and directly slid down from the Cloud Realm toward Glaysia.
-----------------
Fengo’s appearance was very timely.
Rommel had actually been staring at Archmage Ruth and Great Magician Nicholson... However, those two either were genuinely scared by that sentence or were just playing dumb, but none reacted.
Rommel actually suspected, no, confirmed Ruth as the latter, but his unmoving eyeballs genuinely looked like the former.
He somewhat doubted whether Ruth knew a bit about the world’s truths, possibly knowing what’s up with Sia Tower, hence the slack-jawed reaction to Glaysia’s performance.
Unlike Kamente Tower, who truly knows nothing.
"Welcome back to Sia Tower, Lady Sia." The Black-robed Archmage landed gracefully ten steps in front of Rommel.
Rommel seriously looked at Fengo, his gaze sliding from top to bottom, from Fengo’s toes to his own feet... His hint was obvious: what’s on your mind to speak from such a distance?
Fengo’s mouth subtly twitched: Those unaware of the before and after might think he’s dissatisfied with Glaysia’s rule, secretly planning rebellion.
But what can he do?
The Hellish Princess thinks he’s ugly and only at this distance can she breathe normally; is he supposed to say she shouldn’t breathe?
Though he always felt she’d better stop breathing and just be done with it, as a confidant of the Lord of Hell, Fengo still understood Glaysia’s significance to Asmodeus.
Otherwise, the latter wouldn’t persistently try to resurrect Bisozeya.
The Will of Hell, though it welcomes Asmodeus, a king that fits its nature well, sometimes finds the lack of connection between blood and soul a bit limiting.
Of course, Fengo actually has another hidden guess: this is also a push-and-pull contest between the Will of Hell and Asmodeus.
If the Lord of Hell truly wanted to merge thoroughly with Hell, he wouldn’t lack simpler methods of resonating completely with Hell’s Law.
But Asmodeus didn’t plan on doing so, preferring to waste time and effort resurrecting Bisozeya... Meanwhile, no matter what troubles Glaysia caused, he tolerates them.
If Fengo initially had only a bit of suspicion, from the day the Lord of Hell was deified, he felt no doubt.
