Perhaps the appearance of the God of Time and Space and William was always just a tributary on the river of destiny for Teraxil; whether a glimmer of hope could be found depended on Teraxil finding this junction himself.
They were surprised because the origins of the God of Time and Space were uncontrollable... Although possessing the ability to extract souls from the World Without Magic, careful selection was not something anyone could accomplish.
They could only roughly provide a general set of conditions, and then choose randomly among the souls meeting those conditions that could be taken away, selecting one they felt was the best.
If, back then, the soul brought out by Uranus hadn’t come from the young nation from the East with the God of Time and Space, Teraxil might still have had a deity who could lend him a hand, but it wouldn’t necessarily have resulted in the emergence of the Undead Tribe.
To summon the Undead Tribe, one must gain recognition from the World Without Magic... Even a soul projection isn’t something just anyone can entrust.
Merit and character are indispensable.
Speaking of which, the God of Time and Space’s status is certainly very high, but unlike some political figures who carry the fate of the entire Earth, even if their soul dissipates, it must dissolve within their own realm.
Like that Dumas, who was obviously an accomplished individual on the road of science rather than a real politician.
A romantic mindset that overlooks consequences... just start, never mind the result.
Quite akin to those Western scientists who always collaborate with capitalists.
But the God of Time and Space is different, accumulating achievements with abacus and paper, they try to consider every consequence.
This is Teraxil’s luck... but this Exterior God from the Otherworld, who stirred Teraxil’s stagnant world, is indeed traced within the tributary of destiny’s river.
Even if the traces are faint and invisible to the naked eye, they exist.
No wonder those deities related to destiny didn’t react overly to the existence of the Gods of Time and Space, or even the Undead Tribe... When the tributary flows to the current path, all the originally unknown tributaries of the destiny river rapidly merge into the ’present,’ forking into countless paths in the future.
Deities who can see the flow of the destiny river naturally can see that this tributary is a newly expanded channel rather than one carved out by external forces.
That being said, even if the Undead Tribe seems novel, they would accept this novelty and not treat them as alien.
As for Hill’s existence, it’s akin to a ’careless’ little fish swept into the newly carved channel during its creation.
Though it may stir certain waves, and as it grows, perhaps even trigger great waves.
Yet a fish is a fish, no matter how special, it won’t become the river.
The Master of Destiny always roams the destiny river in ways that appear influential but are actually inconsequential.
Moreover, because he is the embodiment of destiny, he can directly restrain incidents that might cause huge disturbances in destiny due to his actions... except those innate godsons descended from his lineage and fully inheriting his abilities.
The Master of Destiny understood this point through Westaria’s appearance... The Multiverse doesn’t disallow him having offspring, but it doesn’t allow a second one of him.
The destiny river can nurture this fish of the wind, but not another.
The Master of Destiny comprehends this... If two Masters of Destiny were to conflict, the rolling waves of destiny’s river would lead to unimaginable outcomes; even he doesn’t dare to ponder.
Thus, even when he occasionally sees Westaria’s foolishness, he is rather glad to enjoy the mess this child creates... Westaria inherited not only his looks but also his luck.
Otherwise, Coron wouldn’t have entrusted such significant tasks to the Elven God King... Tracing and gaining recognition from the Star Spirits never required strength, but rather luck.
Gaining the favor of the Star Spirits and having them listen is the crucial step.
Everything else is merely embellishing assistance.
Next is Hill.
Perhaps because his birth resulted from a casual notion of the Master of Destiny, Hill’s connection with destiny is even tighter.
Though Hill’s body inherited more from the Earth Bear due to mixed bloodlines, his luck clearly comes from the Master of Destiny.
Hill has always been perplexed by how natural blessings allow him to avert evil and avoid calamities; now he finally understands... Nature indeed only gives what it feels is good, regardless of its usefulness or applicability.
Yet the luck granted by the Master of Destiny enables him to timely judge this.
In worlds with weaker Force of Nature, Hill feels his luck isn’t as good, partly because without the brainlessly gifting Force of Nature, destiny wouldn’t readily extend a guiding hand.
Hill’s overly precise judgment is the gift from destiny... and his judgment never concerns the good or bad of the outcome, but rather the impact of the situation on him personally.
Sometimes, especially during encounters in Toril, notably after having the Nyscroll for such a long time, Hill never bothered to explore all those chaotic elements... If he seriously looked, he would find them.
However, having it appear too early in his possession wasn’t beneficial for Hill.
The only possibility was tightening his connection with Edna... For Edna Mistrala, obtaining the Nyscroll from Hill after restoring her divine self is vastly different than acquiring it as a mortal.
To Edna, it merely signifies owing a substantial favor, which, given her identity as the Goddess of Magic, she can repay sooner or later.
But to Hill, who didn’t wish for too much entanglement with Toril, having a Goddess of Magic constantly wanting to repay him is certainly not a boon.
Otherwise, if he can find magic books of the Giant Dragon, why couldn’t he notice a well-disguised Nyscroll?
Is there any plant he couldn’t decipher?
It was just back then, his subconscious chose to ignore that thing.
Therefore, Hill understands that his past carefree and joyful life was undoubtedly a grace from the Master of Destiny.
He couldn’t even deny being a descendant... though this also entangled his relationship with that fool Westaria, Hill wouldn’t detest his lineage enough to negate himself.
Fortunately, he came from a world where, despite considering origins, one can overlook them if they have the mindset.
Hill quickly discarded irrelevant associations, focusing on self-reassurance... The Master of Destiny wishes to remain hidden from entities outside the destiny river, so as long as Hill stays silent, others will attribute his lineage to Coron.
Even Coron probably wouldn’t guess that Hill had this skipped-generation inheritance.
After all, the Fate God System has always had a unique temperament and a whimsical style completely unlike Hill’s grandeur... Hill’s resonance with the Undead Tribe is something deities of fate wouldn’t have.
After pondering deeply, Hill decided to obediently accept the restrictions imposed by the Master of Destiny... just that he couldn’t discuss certain key points even unknown to himself!
After getting past the rebellious phase, Hill actually realized why he was restricted: though he reasoned out the matters, having the God’s perspective was due to his past life.
To the Master of Destiny, Hill’s arrival interfered with destiny.
Thus, he wouldn’t drag Hill into matters potentially influencing the entire Multiverse... not for the Master of Destiny but for Hill himself.
The Master of Destiny never leaves the destiny river, so Multiverse limitations have little effect on him, but Hill lives according to the Law.
If Hill doesn’t wish to end up drifting in the destiny river, he must keep his mouth shut.
-----------------
"I... can’t... not possible..." Lansendel’s groans woke Hill, "That’s not feasible; even the best outcome means disappearing for three months..."
Though Hill couldn’t immediately focus on the Lord of Dawn due to the horrifying truth, even Shaer’s half-asleep clone turned to look amid the struggle!
Lansendel, despite having many artist and architect followers, was certainly skilled in calculations.
Similar to that Dawn Calamity... accomplishing such a grand undertaking involving billions of Elves wasn’t an effortless feat.
And not every deity possesses such leadership.
Moreover, over that long duration, many deities, including Shaer, attempted to interfere, but ultimately AO himself intervened to separate the two merged Goddesses of Misfortune and Luck again... initially, Lansendel’s design was truly completed.
He merely overlooked that no matter how capable a plan, it couldn’t withstand complete force suppression.
Thus, later, Lansendel truly transformed into that seemingly insane dawn disaster.
Many both human and divine, including himself, had largely forgotten that he was always the Neutral Good Lansendel.
And now, the Lord of Dawn sitting there speculating on the post-success impact of Amanata, has had his long-hidden conscience pricked by the frightening result.
Hill couldn’t know exactly what Lansendel saw, but judging by his occasional groans, even without witnessing Cyric’s involvement yet, Lansendel already couldn’t accept the looming dire future.
