Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 2119 - 695: Is Athena Rich?

So, once Apollo, Artemis, and Athena join the Toril Pantheon, the Bottomless Abyss will inevitably be able to pinpoint their location through the bloodline connection with Gaia and them.

Although these three from the Greek Gods are quite powerful, they’re just quite powerful, that’s all.

Basically, once they arrive in Toril, they’re only at the level of Intermediate Divine Power.

Even if they can remain as united as they are now, they still can’t withstand the invasion of the Bottomless Abyss... not everyone can endure a war of attrition against a Demon Army.

The Undead Tribe certainly can... their combat style is crazy enough as well.

As long as the top-tier combat power doesn’t intervene, they can completely withstand those Demon Armies, which are calculated in billions, with their legion-like combat methods.

All these years, besides the Devil Legion, only the Undead Tribe has been able to deplete the demon armies to the point where even the Demon Lords behind them are reluctant to keep sending cannon fodder.

And the price the Devil Legion paid is much greater than that of the Undead Tribe.

That’s why, after understanding this group of the Undead Tribe, the Toril Gods can also understand why Coron would be willing to pay such a high price to bring these otherworldly visitors to Toril.

Elves are the creatures most annoyed by the demon’s way of fighting.

They are not afraid to risk their lives, otherwise, back then, they wouldn’t have blocked the invasion of the Giant Dragon with their lives, ending the golden age of the Giant Dragons... but they can’t accept such a failure where they’re worn down to death by ants.

A heroic death in battle is a kind of happiness for these elves, who have lived long enough and can enter the Elf Deity System to rest and rejuvenate after death, or even directly transform into a new life.

But being worn down to death by a group of enemies weaker than them, relying purely on numbers, is something they truly abhor.

Many elves deeply hate demons but still hide in the forests and islands to eke out an existence, not because they fear death, but because they can’t see the end.

But the arrival of the Undead Tribe solved this problem.

The elves can completely return to challenging those powerful demons directly, leaving those ant-like enemies to the Undead Tribe.

Coron thought very well, and even figured out a way to make these Undead Tribes appear in the image of Half-Elves... Unfortunately, he overlooked the stupidity of the Toril Elves.

Clearly, that Lord of Agleya already had a good emotional foundation with the elves, even going so far as to visit Coron’s faith base in the Supreme Forest, but the elves from Eternity Island still embarked on a path that’s beyond understanding.

If it weren’t for the Lord of Agleya’s good temper, allowing these elves who dared to lift their chins at him to live near his domain, and didn’t let Agleya, the Sea Goddess, reject the territory where the elves founded a nation, or even allowing them to enter his domain for shopping!

Of course, this also drew the attention of many Toril powerhouses to Agleya’s Governor Lynn.

They thought, with Lord Hill’s status and position, being able to tolerate such foolish elves in his domain must be because of this Half-Elf Governor with the Sun Elven Bloodline.

Agleya’s Elven Guard, aren’t they made up of the Elf Nobility from Eternity Island!

Even Lansendel heard from his few stationed priests at Agleya’s Dawn Tower about Lynn’s recent troubles.

That half-elf seemed to have had, oh, genuine love.

Compared to their lord who is impervious to coaxing or extortion... Lynn clearly has loopholes to exploit.

If it weren’t for him being the Chosen of the Singer, protected strictly by the experienced and complex Miliel, Hill as the Governor might have already fallen into a Spider Cave.

The Undead Tribe described Lynn’s recent experiences like this.

Lansendel, although he doesn’t understand why their world uses "Spider Cave" to describe such a female trap, quite agrees... after all, the existence of Rose makes this term particularly vivid.

Because he quite likes the style of the Undead Tribe, Lansendel has formed close ties with some of the Undead Tribe, and he knows his friends fairly well.

They indeed wouldn’t become hostile to this Greek Goddess just because Athena’s existence affected their maritime trade.

As long as Athena doesn’t provoke them directly, they’re absolutely open to fair competition... of course, messing with each other is also a form of fairness.

Besides, the Undead Tribe seems to be quite familiar with the Greek Gods and held a decent impression of this Athena, so Lansendel also thinks AO placing this wise and formidable Greek Goddess in Heim’s position is quite fitting.

But, if he thinks the Undead Tribe would help this competitor to fight against the Demon Army, then that’s really overthinking it...

So far, Lansendel has never seen the Undead Tribe work for free!

Even Shaer, whom they see as William’s intimate lover, has to pay real gold and silver and sufficient energy to get the Undead Tribe to work.

How could these three unfortunate characters from the Greek Gods afford that much wealth?

Lansendel knows, besides the Divine Artifacts hidden within their Divine Souls, they’ve brought nothing else from Hell.

Though Heavenly Mountain doesn’t lack unique resources, with the limited manpower the Greek Gods have, they simply can’t develop them.

Clearly, it’s evident these three live quite pragmatically, possibly sneaking out to accomplish something occasionally... otherwise, how did Apollo come to know Cyric!

But, Lansendel also doesn’t believe they could afford to pay the Undead Tribe’s hiring fee.

That’s an enormous number that would leave even him speechless after calculating!

AO certainly has the money, but he always maintains a reserved stance... at least on the surface, he doesn’t get involved in these personal matters between deities.

He can’t exactly bring in some Greek Gods refugees and still offer them an An Family settlement fund, can he?

Lansendel couldn’t help but laugh ’hehe’ twice... he actually hopes AO would do something like that.

Then, Toril would indeed become lively!

The Undead Tribe wouldn’t even come close... other deities would have to go all out against these three.

After all, who doesn’t know AO is displeased with them?

They only act so brazenly because AO doesn’t want to risk ending the close connection they all have with the Law Line by killing them... after all, if the Law Lines were to explode, Toril wouldn’t just reboot, it would return to eternal silence as Shaer wishes.

That’s why AO’s small moves are just like boiling frogs in warm water... unfortunately, if the lid isn’t tightly closed, the frog can still sense the water’s too hot and jump out.

But if that God Above Gods decides to add some weight to the lid... then you can’t blame all gods for going mad and pounding away before the water even heats up.

Since they’re doomed anyway, crashing to death is better than being scalded to death!

Unfortunately... it’s unlikely AO would play such a big game.

Lansendel regretfully thought.

"Do you know how lecherous your expression is?" Shaer suddenly turned her head, originally focused intently on the intense lightning curtain over Mount Zeus.

"Why are you looking at me instead of ahead?" Lansendel wasn’t surprised his expression was noticed... Shaer can naturally observe the surrounding situation in all 360 degrees.

Yet, he thought Shaer’s attention was completely on the mountain with the flashes of lightning and the sounds of thunder, and on those engaged in combat whose movements had slowed a bit.

What is there for him to be noticed?

"William wants to know why you would chat with Amanata for so long?" Shaer asked gently, "He doesn’t think you’d choose annoyance over peace and comfort in such vexing benefits.

Amanata’s nonsense made even William want to hit someone!"

"Ah?" Lansendel hesitated for a while before thoughtfully asking, "You’re really not hiding anything at all, huh!"

"What do I need to hide?" Shaer chuckled softly, "I like secrecy and don’t want others to probe into my mysteries.

But it doesn’t mean I need to do things sneakily."

Indeed, she openly declares her goal of exterminating the world... much more forthright than those Evil Gods proclaiming freedom and power.

Lansendel just didn’t expect Shaer to be so forthright about her love as well.
