Surviving the Infinite Survival Game by Exploiting Glitches

Wu Yatu kicked the vines she had torn to pieces aside and continued walking uphill.

The stench was getting stronger and stronger. It seemed those humans were nearby.

At that moment, Ghost Vine returned and climbed up Lin Yun’s leg before curling around her shoulder.

[Hey, how was that? Aren’t I awesome?]

"Xiao Teng is awesome. I’ll give you something delicious when we get home."

Lin Yun had deliberately arranged for Ghost Vine to wait along that road. She wanted it to destroy the protective suit and find out whether there was actually a person hiding inside.

If the person turned out to be another survivor, she could simply compensate them with a new protective suit.

While they were driving around the city, Lin Yun had suddenly realized that the higher a zombie’s level was, the more intelligent it would likely be. If high-level zombies were anything like the ones in novels, the stench they had been using might eventually give them away.

The stench could confuse level-one and level-two zombies, but if a level-three zombie possessed enough intelligence, it would probably figure out what was happening.

And what about a level-four zombie or higher?

That was why Lin Yun had asked Xu Chi and the others if there was anywhere nearby where they could hide and observe their surroundings. She had also borrowed their binoculars.

"Let’s go find them."

Lin Yun quietly left the area again. By then, the stench on her body had already faded.

She found a secluded spot, took out the mutated rose, and picked some of its leaves and petals. She stuffed the foul-smelling protective suit into her backpack, crushed the leaves and petals into a juice, and rubbed the mixture over her body.

The mutated rose had developed an exceptionally strong fragrance because of its mutation, enough to completely cover the stench.

Meanwhile, Xu Chi and the others had hidden in a nearby body of water, which conveniently concealed their smell. After emerging from the water, most of the stench had been washed away.

On the scenic-area side, Ghost Vine was the one carrying out the plan. With great effort, it had transported several pieces of cactus up there.

Lin Yun didn’t know exactly where it had placed them. According to Ghost Vine, it had put them on a rooftop.

"Hurry up and get out. We need to leave."

Lin Yun slipped back to the edge of the water, slapped the surface, and urged the people hiding below to come out.

Xu Chi poked his head out of the water, spat out the straw Lin Yun had found for him at the beverage shop near the entrance of the scenic area, and wiped the water from his face.

"Really a zombie?"

"Guaranteed authentic."

Lin Yun glanced once more in the direction Wu Yatu had gone before turning around and leaving.

They couldn’t afford to waste any more time talking. Once Wu Yatu realized what they were doing, they might not be able to escape.

Xu Chi and the others understood the seriousness of the situation. After climbing out of the water, they immediately ran toward the vehicle they had found earlier.

They would leave the original vehicle there for now. Once the smell had dissipated, they could come back and figure out how to drive it away.

After everyone got into the vehicle, Xu Chi looked at Lin Yun.

"How did you know it was a zombie? What evidence did you have?"

"Have you ever read post-apocalyptic novels? There are plenty of zombies in them. Although they may differ from the real thing in some ways, they’re actually quite similar."

"The higher a zombie’s level, the more likely it is to resemble a human. A level-two zombie is stronger than a level-one zombie, but the difference isn’t particularly obvious. Level-three zombies are different. They’re much smarter than level-one and level-two zombies and possess a certain degree of intelligence."

"I don’t need to explain what happens at the higher levels, right? Although I still don’t know how that thing managed to look so much like a human."

Lin Yun shrugged.

"If Ghost Vine hadn’t torn its protective suit and I hadn’t seen the lividity on its back and neck, I wouldn’t have believed it was a zombie either."

She didn’t mind telling them that Wu Yatu was a high-level zombie.

After all, she probably couldn’t kill Wu Yatu alone. If she wanted to complete the mission and obtain the rewards, she would have to cooperate with others.

The atmosphere inside the vehicle instantly became tense.

The other three people looked grim.

"If it becomes a level-five Zombie King, then it’s understandable if there are no lividity marks anymore. After all, it would already be a Zombie King."

Xu Chi’s expression became even more unpleasant.

Now she could simply steer them toward that conclusion.

She really hated dealing with strangers.

Wu Yatu stared at the foul-smelling cactus in front of her and laughed angrily.

"Alright, alright. So you’re playing tricks on me, huh?"

"Humans really are cunning and wicked!"

"Humans deserve to die! All of you should become my food and help me become the Zombie King! Then I’ll rule this entire world!"

Wu Yatu stared coldly at the cactus before suddenly slamming her palm down.

A huge hole instantly appeared in the rooftop, and pieces of cactus tumbled into it.

Wu Yatu sat on the rooftop for a while before slowly getting to her feet.

Although she hadn’t managed to catch that group of little mice, there seemed to be other little mice hiding somewhere on the mountain.
