Surviving the Infinite Survival Game by Exploiting Glitches
Chapter 26 Flower MarketLin Yun agreed and got on her bicycle, heading toward the flower market.
The camphor tree watched her leave in silence before returning to sleep.
As soon as they arrived at the entrance of the flower market, Ghost Vine immediately became alert. It could sense that there were other mutated plants inside, just like itself.
Looking at the lush greenery spreading throughout the market, Lin Yun felt that this trip to the flower market would not be easy.
[Hey, there are mutated plants inside. I’ll go in and take a look. You stay here and don’t wander off, okay? I’ll be right back.]
Ghost Vine patted Lin Yun’s shoulder, giving her careful instructions.
Lin Yun replied, "...Okay."
Why did she suddenly feel like the child here?
Ghost Vine slipped off her shoulder and disappeared into the flower market.
Lin Yun put the bicycle away and carefully surveyed the flower market. There were simply too many plants inside. The market was packed with blooming flowers and lush potted plants.
However, her main purpose for coming here was to find seeds. She didn’t know whether there were any left.
She looked up at the large characters on the flower market’s sign.
Oh, so this place was actually called a farmers’ market? Never mind. She would just call it a flower market.
The shop on the left side of the entrance mainly sold various potted plants.
However, many of the plants had been affected by the changes in the world and had grown to enormous sizes, far larger than they should have been.
Without human intervention, they had all grown wildly, twisted and crooked, as if displaying their unrestricted and powerful vitality.
Lin Yun couldn’t tell what the shop on the right sold. Its door was closed, and its sign was completely obscured by the greenery growing out from the neighboring shop.
There weren’t many plants around the entrance. After thinking for a moment, Lin Yun cautiously approached, gripping the stem stick tightly in her hand. She was ready to act immediately if anything went wrong.
When she reached the entrance, she raised the stick and used it to push aside the greenery covering the sign.
Through the gap she had opened, Lin Yun saw another word:
"Seeds."
It seemed she had found the seed shop in the flower market.
However, the plants covering the entrance belonged to the neighboring or opposite shops, leaving Lin Yun unsure of which plant she should ask to open the door.
Huh?
Wait a minute.
Oh no. She remembered what she had forgotten before going to bed last night.
She had forgotten to bring the ivy back with her.
Lin Yun narrowed her eyes.
Did that ivy really think she was going to let it off?
In fact, she was right.
Lin Yun had been in such a hurry to return to the shelter yesterday that she had completely forgotten about Ivy, leaving it anxiously waiting until nightfall.
When darkness fell and the terrifying human still hadn’t returned to look for it, Ivy finally breathed a sigh of relief.
It seemed that the human had only been joking.
It had actually escaped unscathed.
Lin Yun snorted.
She decided that after she finished what she needed to do at the flower market, she would go back and retrieve it.
Since no one was opening the door, Lin Yun decided to force it open.
After all, she was already trapped in an infinite survival game. What need did she have for manners?
She took out several exploding sunflower seeds from her backpack, stepped back a little, and threw one directly at the lock in the middle of the rolling shutter door.
A huge explosion rang out, leaving a large hole in the shutter.
Hearing the explosion, Ghost Vine immediately chopped down the mutated plant it was fighting with and dragged its corpse toward Lin Yun.
What’s going on?
What happened?!
It had gone off to work as a mutated plant, and now its family was fighting with someone again!
Who dared to bully Youyou like this?!
Come here and face your doom!
I’m coming! Hang in there!
Lin Yun looked at the hole and realized that it still wasn’t large enough to get through.
So she threw another exploding sunflower seed.
[Again! Don’t be afraid! I’m here!]
"What?"
Lin Yun turned around and looked at Ghost Vine, which was rushing back toward her.
Ghost Vine: [? Weren’t you just fighting here?]
"No. I found the seed shop, but the door was locked, so I just threw two sunflower seeds at it."
Lin Yun spoke innocently.
Oh.
Alright.
Ghost Vine immediately relaxed. As long as it wasn’t another fight, everything was fine.
After setting the mutated plant aside, Ghost Vine came over and laboriously helped Lin Yun completely open the rolling shutter door, which now had two large holes in it.
[By the way, Youyou, take a look at this mutated plant. I don’t know if it has a wood crystal.]
When I arrived, I found it bullying another one of its kind, so I simply took care of it.
Ghost Vine dragged the dead mutated plant over again as if proudly displaying its trophy and placed it at Lin Yun’s feet.
It was a geranium.
Judging from its appearance, it must have grown quite large before it was killed by Ghost Vine. Now it had withered, leaving it dry and brittle.
"Little Vine is really amazing."
Lin Yun praised it again before asking, "System, check whether there is a wood crystal."
[Yes. Would you like to submit it?]
"Submit it."
[One Wood Crystal submitted. Quest Progress: 1/5. Please keep up the good work.]
Lin Yun picked Ghost Vine up from the ground and placed it on her shoulder.
"Little Vine is amazing. There really was a wood crystal in this geranium."
Ghost Vine was satisfied and waved its small vines happily.
There were no extra plants inside the seed shop, and no plants had grown in from outside. The shop itself was still intact, and all the seeds were neatly arranged on the display shelves.
Lin Yun didn’t bother looking through them carefully. She simply took out a woven bag, opened it, and began filling it with seeds.
The seed shop in the flower market had an incredibly complete selection, and Lin Yun was extremely satisfied.
With several large bags of seeds stored in her backpack, she had completed most of the important tasks she had planned for today.
The next few days would be spent trying to kill that mutated gray wolf.
If they couldn’t kill it, then so be it. They would leave it to fate.
After leaving the seed shop, Lin Yun glanced toward the depths of the flower market.
Since she was already here, she wanted to explore a little more.
However, there were simply too many plants, which made her hesitate.
[It’s okay, Youyou! I’ll protect you!]
Ghost Vine jumped to the ground, enlarged itself, and proudly displayed its strength.
The surrounding plants sensed its powerful aura and instinctively retreated, desperately trying to preserve their lives.
"Alright, then thank you for your trouble, Xiao Teng. I’ll give you a whole steamed bun tonight."
[Good!]
As soon as it heard the word "baozi," Ghost Vine became even more excited and protected Lin Yun as they ventured deeper into the flower market.
Lin Yun looked around, stopping whenever she encountered a mutated plant to examine it.
[Hydrangea: A variant with a long blooming period that prefers shade. It will wither instantly without water. Staring at it... does it make you feel happier?]
[Pennywort: A mutant variety that loves blooming and thrives in full sunlight. Praise it a couple of times, and it will overflow its pot. It’s probably thinking: Water! Water! Where’s the water? Where’s the water?! Why isn’t there any water?!]
The corners of Lin Yun’s lips twitched again.
What strange information!
But honestly, it was quite interesting and worth investigating.
If she found a good one, she could bring it home and raise it.
Although her shelter was a little small, there was still room for a few more plants.
