Swordsmanship Coach: Kill with One Slash
Chapter 182 - 138: Premonition of CrisisChapter 182: Chapter 138: Premonition of Crisis
Time passed slowly,
and a few days slipped quietly by.
It had been snowing constantly for the past few days, and the layer of snow outside was piling higher and higher. Many people had a day or two off from work or school, but the Sword Dao classes at the Sword Hall never stopped.
As usual, Su Xing stood at the front, methodically instructing the students who were there to prepare for exams or simply out of interest.
As for Lu Anning and Xiao Yu,
they were practicing on their own in another room.
The lessons here were no longer of much use to them—especially Lu Anning. Strictly speaking, her understanding of the Sword Dao was already at a level where she could be an instructor herself.
About forty-five minutes later,
the Sword Dao class drew to a close, and a system panel abruptly popped up before his eyes.
[Sword Dao Points +1]
Seeing that he had received the Sword Dao Points, Su Xing slowly walked to a table and picked up a thermos of tea. He took a small sip. The scalding water coursed through him, spreading a pleasant warmth. He cleared his throat and said,
"Class dismissed, everyone."
"It’s been snowing constantly. Even though it isn’t cold, you can still easily catch a chill. Be careful on your way home, and try not to get sick."
"Got it, Coach Su!"
The students all called back in agreement,
then began to pack their things and get ready to go home.
Su Xing also started to pack up, preparing to return to his room for a rest. Just then, he heard a girl at the entrance of the Sword Hall ask curiously,
"Coach Su, I’ve been wondering something for the past few days. Why isn’t this snow cold?"
The speaker was a young girl,
around ninth-grade age. She was about five-foot-four, dressed in a red autumn outfit, and had a somewhat innocent look about her.
She gently scooped up a handful of snow from the ground, letting it rest in her palm.
The snowflakes had no temperature; they were neither cold nor hot. They were like a projection, or a mirage you could touch. You could feel them, yet they had no temperature and didn’t feel solid.
All in all, it felt very unreal.
The girl’s question was like bait cast into the ocean. One by one, other students scooped up handfuls of snow and began to discuss it amongst themselves.
There were boys and girls among them, and even a few students who were normally quiet joined the discussion. In an instant, the area outside the Sword Hall became bustling with activity.
’This blizzard hasn’t exposed the Spirit Realm, thanks to the special organization’s control, but it’s rapidly become a hot topic throughout society.’
On the streets, on the roads,
in every corner of the internet—you could hear similar discussions everywhere.
Even Su Xing had heard such talk many times recently. He walked to the entrance of the Sword Hall to see a group of students standing there, getting soaked by the snow as they chatted. He said flatly,
"Hurry home. Stay out here any longer and you’ll all catch a cold."
’Even though the snow isn’t cold, it’s still snow at the end of the day. If a large number of my students catch colds, it will be a real hassle for me as the Hall Master.’
"But Coach..."
"Anyone who doesn’t go home now will have double practice next time."
A few of them looked like they wanted to argue, but after Su Xing said that, everyone fell silent.
Faced with Su Xing’s "threat,"
the students quickly scattered and left the Sword Hall.
The Sword Hall fell quiet once more.
Su Xing stood at the edge of the Sword Hall, gazing at the snow-covered lakeshore. Out of the corner of his eye, he suddenly spotted a familiar figure in the shadows, but it moved so quickly that it vanished in an instant.
’Is it that cat again?’
Su Xing hadn’t gotten a clear look, but his senses were already exceptionally sharp; he could more or less feel its presence.
"Brother."
Su Yu’s voice suddenly broke through Su Xing’s thoughts. He pushed aside the matter of the cat and focused on what his brother had to say.
It had been several days since he last spoke with Su Yu. In that time, the special organization had apparently decided on a plan, but there had been no action or updates. Now, it seemed, there was finally some news.
"Brother, can you come to the organization’s building right now?"
"I’ll wait for you in the same restroom as last time."
’The restroom?’
Su Xing paused for a second, then suddenly remembered: it was the place he had gone to when he was afflicted by that cursed power.
"Alright, I’m on my way."
Su Xing took out his phone to send a text message, then returned to the Sword Hall to speak with Lu Anning and Xiao Yu before preparing to leave.
Su Xing was incredibly fast; he had no need for a taxi. He just had to find an open space, activate "Fluttering Snow," and within seconds, he had arrived at his destination.
In fact,
he was much faster than Su Yu.
By the time Su Xing made it from the Sword Hall to the public restroom, Su Yu hadn’t arrived yet. With nothing better to do, Su Xing began to observe the organization’s building.
Soon,
Su Xing noticed something was wrong.
Through his powerful perception, he could clearly sense that the organization’s building was filled with Sequencers on guard, patrolling everywhere as if wary of a sudden attack.
This surprised Su Xing.
It also gave him a few ideas about why his younger brother had summoned him.
The organization’s building,
though it was the headquarters for Cang City’s special organization,
most of its members were usually out on missions. The ones who stayed in the building long-term were typically administrative staff. It was rare for so many people to be inside at once.
They certainly would never have so many Sequencers out on patrol.
It was another four minutes before Su Yu arrived.
