After Zeal left the restaurant, grumbling about how unfair it is, the place became quiet.

From the start, Ned and Elias never got along enough to have a conversation, so Ned treated the case like babysitting a young master, or housing a bomb.

"Em! Young master?"

"Yes?" Elias raised a brow, as steam from the steak curled around his face.

"Isn’t it dangerous to sit down like this?"

Elias raised his head. "Dangerous?"

"Like...I mean, your status and all. It’s fine that you like wearing hoods since no one can notice your eyes at first glance but, I still think it’s a little bit too casual to walk around like this. I didn’t say I don’t trust you to take care of yourself but....blah...blah...blah..."

Elias wasn’t listening. His attention had been on the streak since Ned said status. It hasn’t been grilled to perfection and it felt like the patient was eating away at him.

He frowned.

’Just one bite...’

He reached for it.

"Young master!"

"Whhhat?" He raised his head in annoyance, only to see Ned sweating. The teacher was staring around.

"My ability is danger sense," Ned stood up. "Even if it’s really far away, I’ll notice. But, it’s close—"

His eyes returned to Elias, and for a moment, it was like time had stopped.

What had gotten to them aiming a kick at Elias was clearly a woman, but not human. She had red skin and two horns.

"Young master!"

The kick caught him off guard, driving into the side of his rib. Elias definitely heard the crack sound of his bone as he was sent flying and crashing through the wall into the restaurant.

A woman had ordered a meal, handling it over to her son when the wall caved in, smashing the little boy and everyone in sight with it.

Elias tumbled a few times before he stopped.

"..Urgh! What..."

The sight of blood greeted him. He had crashed on a man who had been shaved half by the chaos. The woman was still trying to understand why her child was buried beneath the rubble. The owner was trying to understand who smashed through her shop. Ned had basically fallen on his knee.

She opened her mouth and grinned.

"Weaklings. Humans are weak."

The people were still trying to understand.

She stepped in, approaching Elias.

"No...run," Ned staggered to his feet. "Run!"

Thunder stuck around the side of sound city and a portal so big they could see it over the houses swirled into existence.

Screams erupted. People dashed, tripping over themselves. The calm atmosphere was totally ruined.

Ned watched some people scrambled out the side of a building close to the portal only to have tentacles tying around their necks and pulling them back. Some creatures with too many eyes pursued people. It was like opening a zoo. The portal was no doubt an S ranked.

The red lady got to where the woman was still staring at her son under the rubbles. Then she grinned and stretched her hand, ripping the woman’s face off.

This triggered the panic even more.

"What is that?!"

"Run!"

"Save me!"

Elias had finally stood up, swaying slightly, but his eyes were calm. He properly looked at the red woman as she grinned at him. They were even in height.

"You’re one of them. I can smell it." She sniffed the air and laughed in a crazy manner.

He tilted his head.

"One of them huh?"

She raised her hand to her horn and broke it off. New ones grew in its place, while the ones she held sharpened into twin swords.

She attacked him right after.

Elias created a double dagger and charged at her. Their weapons met with equal force, sending sparks flying.

She brought her face closer and opened her mouth, long tongue coming out like a snake and licking his hand.

He pulled back in disgust, and she charged forward with a grin.

He narrowly avoided the swing as it sliced a few strings of his hair. He created numerous daggers and sent it flying at her. She jumped back and dodged everything.

The chaos had now spread and everyone was running. He looked up at the portal, and back at Ned.

"Call Zeal!"

The teacher nodded and scrambled up, fumbling with his phone.

Elias remade the dagger into a sword. Due to the woman’s movement, he had noticed that her advantage was speed.

As soon as she avoided the last dagger, he was right behind her, swinging so clean he sliced off her horns. She managed to dodge and create a gap but he closed it immensely.

"What?!"

A dagger pierced her from the left and a sword from the right.

"How dare?!"

Chains forged itself into air, wrapping around her neck and nailing itself to the ground.

"Urgh!"

Elias took a stance, ready to slice her clean when another figure dropped into the scene and caught the sword with his bare hands.

Elias himself was confused.

This person was human and had just caught his sword with his bare hand. The man glanced at the red woman.

"I told you not to underestimate them. Especially the faceless."

"Shut up!" She pulled the chains, but they held tight.

One word came to Elias’s mind.

"Disposal."

"Good thing you noticed," the man clenched on the sword, and the metal rusted. "Although you’re nowhere near my level."

Elias gave a gap between them and tightened the chain around the red woman.

"I must say, your ability is impressive." The man grinned. "I’ll take you back for some experiments."

Elias created another pair of daggers.

’Did he make my ability rust? Ain’t we the worst matchup?"

"Hmm," a voice cut through their words.

They both turned.

Beside them was the short girl in a hood.

"Number six. Let me take him."

Elias raised a brow as she stepped closer.

"I’ll win against someone as weak as this," she smiled. "So, let me do it."

She took a single step towards them.

"Over there. The portal. A barrier had been cast around it. I’m afraid I’ll not be able to go in. I’m not that confident in my ability, so I came here instead."

Elias didn’t doubt the girl, nor did he worry, instead he asked.

"There are two of them."

Tiana tilted her head at the red woman clawing at the chains, then she stretched a finger. A projection so fast, Elias’ eyes barely followed, burst through the woman’s head.

They flinched as Tiana smiled.

"Now it’s one on one right?"
