Chapter 750: Chapter 750: The Return of the Servant

"ETHAN!" Princess Isabella shouted from the top of the hill, cutting through the roar of battle.

Upon hearing her voice, Ethan didn’t waste a single moment. He took a colossal leap that cracked the ground beneath his feet, soaring into the air and coming down upon the Prince of the Blue Phoenix with all the fury bottled up inside him. His eyes, previously golden from his aura turned an absolute deep black.

"SUNSET!" Ethan bellowed.

The sword strike tore through the atmosphere, and time seemed to come to a complete standstill in the Prince’s world. Paralyzed by visceral terror, the heir of the Blue Phoenix watched with wide eyes as the merciless wave of dark energy surged directly toward his neck, unable to move a single muscle.

In the distance, the Southern General observed the scene and let out a soft chuckle.

"Well now..." the Southern General said, adjusting his trident. "Seems the kid held back against me. That strike could have hurt my hand, hehehe."

Before the dark blade of energy could sever the Prince’s head, an explosion of blue flames erupted onto the scene. The Elder of the Blue Phoenix Sect lunged forward violently, destroying Ethan’s attack through sheer brute force. He grabbed the Prince—who had passed out completely from the spiritual shock—and held him tightly.

The elder looked at Princess Isabella and her people, letting out a long, bitter sigh.

"Today we have lost," the old man declared in a subdued voice. "We will seek no further humiliation in this place."

Without waiting for a response, the elder shot into the horizon carrying the Prince. The remnants of the battered enemy army tried to retreat behind him, but Ethan’s voice echoed like thunder across the valley.

"LET NO ONE LEAVE! STOP THEM ALL!" Ethan roared with contained rage. "NO ONE WHO DARES ATTACK THE PRINCESS SHALL REMAIN ALIVE!"

Responding to his command, the ships of the Crimson Fleet deployed instantly. The imposing Annihilator-class warship charged its main supercannon, unleashing a colossal beam that reduced everything in its path to ash. Ethan raised his sword once more and took a deep breath, though his spiritual energy was chaotic overflowing and on the verge of collapse. He was running entirely out of reserves.

Seeing Ethan attack with such ferocity, risking his own life at the brink of exhaustion, touched Isabella’s heart even deeper.

"Halt the attack, Ethan!" Isabella intervened in a soft yet firm tone. "There is no need to exterminate them all."

"But they have offended you, Princess..." Ethan protested, pausing for a second. Immediately, he corrected his tone: "No... I must not debate. Your orders are absolute."

Ethan lowered his sword, turned toward her, and dropped to one knee in midair, bowing his head in respect.

"I have fulfilled my mission, Princess," Ethan declared. He then raised his voice toward the sky: "Ash! Bring them!"

From the main ship, Ash leaped down to the ground carrying two subdued and broken bodies. They had no limbs, their eyes were entirely vacant, and their bodies lay inert.

"Princess Isabella," Ethan announced, pointing to the bodies. "I present to you the Leader of the Crimson Sect alongside the Grand Elder."

Without missing a beat, Ethan added:

"Princess, I have also brought more gifts."

With a wave of his hand, several severed heads rolled across the ground. They were the faces of the Grand Elders and Leaders of the other southeastern sects. Crul had taken care to preserve each of those heads, since during the madness of his ascension, Ethan had lost all capacity to reason. Crul had kept him safe and prepared this gruesome reward. Only Gusher’s head was missing from the group: first, because Ethan had devoured him entirely, and second, because presenting his head would have been equivalent to openly admitting rebellion against the kingdom.

Upon seeing the severed heads rolling across the ground, Princess Isabella was even more astonished. Her destined one had not only fulfilled the nearly impossible mission she entrusted to him, but he had dismantled the remaining enemy factions in the south. At that precise moment, her admiration for him grew exponentially once more.

The Southern General approached with steady steps as the roar of the battlefield finally came to a halt. Beside him, the Captain of the White Unicorn Corps limped forward, watching the scene with wide eyes.

Meanwhile, the legion of skeletons summoned by Ethan continued their relentless advance, devouring and eliminating every single enemy left in their path, ruthlessly clearing the battlefield.

Isabella took a few steps forward, stopping just a meter away from him. Her golden eyes scanned Ethan from top to bottom with a mixture of fascination and relief.

"Did you face any difficulties?" Isabella asked him in a soft voice. "You did wonderful."

Ethan kept his head bowed and answered without hesitation:

"There were no difficulties, Princess. My achievements were only possible thanks to Your Highness’s foresight."

Upon hearing such a formal response, Isabella let out an amused huff and shook her head.

"Ten years in that place turned you into a smooth talker," Isabella said, crossing her arms as a subtle smile formed on her lips. "Stop talking like an idiot and speak directly."

Ethan let out a quiet chuckle, relaxing his shoulders slightly.

"Hehe... the same Princess I remember," Ethan admitted, looking up to meet her eyes. "Everything went as planned. But during my stay, we encountered a cursed ruin that turned out to be a trial to find a successor. I managed to claim the inheritance, and now I control an army of the undead. Thanks to that, my cultivation rose to the initial stage of the Dao Manifestation Realm."

Ethan paused, tightening his fist over his chest with genuine gratitude.

"Princess, I can now be a useful sword for you. I will always be grateful for the opportunity you gave me to avenge the death of my world."

Those words came from the bottom of Ethan’s heart. He had arrived as a simple refugee, and now he stood as a conqueror who had returned from a long campaign abroad.
