Taming the Tyrant Beast Women

Chapter 39: The Spider Sets Its Trap

The Spider Sets Its Trap

Levis and Evelyn were arguing again.

More precisely, Evelyn was scolding her servant Levis.

"Levis, I told you to bring me more test subjects. Where are they?"

Evelyn’s voice was cold and sharp.

Her purple eyes narrowed with irritation.

Her long green hair swayed as she turned to face him.

Her fitted purple robe hugged her curves.

The green sash emphasized her narrow waist.

Her E cup tits rose and fell with angry breaths.

Her peach-shaped ass was tense.

Her thick thighs shifted impatiently.

"I... I tried, Evelyne. But the city defense is on high alert. They’re watching everything."

Levis’s voice was weak.

Pathetic.

"Excuses. Always excuses. You’re useless."

Her words cut deep.

*She’s so cruel to him,* Leon thought, watching from the shadows.

*But he just takes it.*

*Like a dog.*

*Where’s his backbone?*

*Where’s his pride?*

*This is infuriating as a man.*

*When will we men finally stand up?*

Leon watched the scene unfold.

His hand rested on Selena’s waist.

She leaned into him.

Her golden eyes soft.

"Darling," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "She’s even worse than I remember."

Leon squeezed her hip gently.

"Don’t worry, sweetheart. She’ll get what’s coming to her. Just watch."

Selena nodded.

She trusted him.

Completely.

Evelyn continued her tirade.

"If you can’t even handle something this simple, what good are you to me? You’re my beast-soul master. You’re supposed to be useful."

"I’m sorry, Evelyne. I’ll try harder. I promise."

"Try harder? That’s all you ever say. Try harder. Try harder. I’m tired of your promises."

She turned away.

Her green hair whipped behind her.

Her purple eyes were cold.

*Look at her,* Leon thought.

*She treats him like garbage.*

*And he just bows his head.*

*What a pathetic excuse for a man.*

*But... this works in my favor.*

*She’s the perfect target.*

Soon, the pair exited the Blackheart estate.

They seemed to be heading toward an outdoor dungeon.

A thought sparked in Leon’s mind.

*Perfect. I was looking for a chance to farm Tyranny Value—and here it is.*

He followed quickly.

Selena kept pace beside him.

Her hood was pulled up.

Hiding her perfect face.

Her silver-white hair tucked away.

Her golden eyes were alert.

"Dear Selena, stay close. And stay hidden. I want to see how this plays out."

"Of course, darling. Whatever you need."

Leon smiled.

*She’s so cooperative now.*

*So trusting.*

*I love it.*

*I love her.*

Selena had already reached a terrifying Level 19.

One more outdoor dungeon run and she’d hit Level 20.

Right on track with his leveling plan.

Normally, after Level 10, each level required a massive amount of experience.

Reaching Level 20 for the second transition breakthrough would take at least a month of dedicated grinding.

But Leon?

Selena had simply dropped a massive AoE and devastated an entire valley.

The experience bar had exploded.

What Leon didn’t know was that last night, every powerful figure in the city had gathered for an emergency meeting.

Strengthening the city’s defenses.

They were terrified that the yesterday afternoon’s events had been a precursor to a beast tide.

As Leon tailed Evelyn, he passed by the city defense force.

He noticed the deep dark circles under the beast-girls’ eyes.

Clearly, they hadn’t slept well.

*Wasn’t it just a Level 50 Demonic Beast last night?* Leon thought.

*No need to be so worked up, right?*

*Aurelia City’s defenses are this weak now?*

He muttered under his breath.

He’d expected something truly formidable.

Instead, that rhino—big as it was—had rampaged through the beast-girls like they were nothing.

Leon had actually waited a moment before acting.

Just to observe.

And then...

Selena had killed it in one strike.

*Utterly boring.*

In his eyes, the Crimson Tooth Giant Rhino was just a slightly larger beast.

Hardly a real threat.

The nearby defense force members, already grumpy from a sleepless night, heard his words.

Their expressions soured.

"What do you mean, ’no need to be so worked up’?! There was a Level 50 beast rampaging through the city last night!"

*If you’re so tough, why don’t you go fight it yourself?!*

But by the time they registered his words, Leon had already disappeared into the distance.

Selena’s hand found his.

Her fingers intertwined.

"Darling... you really know how to make people angry."

He grinned.

"It’s a talent."

---

"Beast Pills! Beast Pills! 950 dollars each, no bargaining! 200 left—first come, first served!"

"Selling a longsword dropped from a dungeon! +3 Combat Power! Don’t miss out!"

The closer Leon got to the dungeon, the more crowded it became.

Soon, he spotted the dungeon entrance.

A swirling vortex of darkness.

It pulsed with a palpable, unsettling energy.

"Level 7 defense-type beast-girl, looking for party. Solid defense! Need a speed-leveling team!"

"B-rank offense-type beast-girl, Level 6, Combat Power 7! I shred mobs! Add me!"

"Level 10 offense-type beast-girl, stats verified! Guaranteed to clear normal difficulty! Willing to... pay with services."

Outdoor dungeons offered richer rewards.

Special items dropped more frequently.

Equipment had higher drop rates.

Suddenly, a cold, aloof beast-girl drew everyone’s attention.

"Look over there—isn’t that Evelyn Blackheart from No. 1 High?"

"She’s one of the only S-ranks in the city, right?"

Several beast-soul masters murmured among themselves.

"*Whew.* She’s gorgeous."

"No kidding. She once declared that no beast-soul master in this city was worthy of her—then she contracted someone from another province."

"*Hiss.* That arrogant?"

"That’s exactly how arrogant she is. Got a problem? Find yourself a beast-girl who can match her."

"Can’t even compare. My C-rank Flame Sparrow is already decent. S-rank? She probably eats at least ten Demonic Beast Cores a day! You think I could afford that?"

A student in a No. 2 High uniform shrank back.

"Small thinking. Evelyn is the Blackheart family’s jewel. They don’t lack money. Ten? You’re insulting her."

"Exactly. Add a zero, at least."

Behind Leon, Selena was bundled up tightly.

A hood hiding her nearly perfect face.

She went unnoticed.

Leon’s eyes lingered on Evelyn in the distance.

A hint of amusement flickering across his face.
