"You all keep an eye out, treat any guests well. I’m going to roam around the other exhibits and see if there are any formidable competitors. If there’s an emergency, contact me immediately."
After Zero, with hands in pockets, left Zone A, the surrounding people curiously walked into the Candy Technology exhibit area.
Although everyone was here for the exhibition, there was no rule against visiting competitors’ exhibits.
The purpose of this International Robot Expo is to provide comparison, allowing those customers to make confident purchases.
Facing the crowd entering en masse, the sales and etiquette girls began to greet them with smiles on their faces.
"Sir, would you like something to drink?"
"No, thank you."
...
Experiencing White’s intelligence up close and even getting a free health check, that’s quite a bargain...
But White shows no sign of dropping in price, and very few could bring themselves to spend millions on one to take home.
With a few million, wouldn’t it be better spent elsewhere? Besides, the hospital is always there if you fall sick.
Shaking their heads, people turned their attention to the industrial robots next to each White.
During the big break, Candy returned to the classroom looking a bit listless after finishing the break exercises.
Beside her, Xiang’Er asked curiously, "Mo Xiaoxue, what’s wrong? You don’t look too happy."
"It’s Friday, what could be making you unhappy?"
Candy sat at the desk, resting her chin on her hands. Hearing Xiang’Er’s concern, Candy expressed her feelings.
"Zero’s been away for days, I really miss her."
Hearing this, Xiang’Er said in puzzlement, "Didn’t you say Zero often goes against you? But now she’s gone, you miss her?"
"I get it!"
Candy tilted her head curiously at Xiang’Er’s sudden excitement, eager to hear her reasoning.
"You two are a classic love-hate duo."
"Am I right?"
Candy furrowed her brows, pondering for quite a while. It did seem to make sense.
Just like her with her sister.
Just then, Zero’s voice came from Candy’s smartwatch.
"Bleh bleh bleh~"
"I’ve only been gone a few days and you’re already not used to it, hahaha. You can’t manage without me, huh? No one to play with."
Candy, pouting, didn’t talk back. That night, if Zero had been home, even if her sister was downstairs watching TV, she wouldn’t have fallen asleep alone with her phone.
"When are you coming back?"
For some reason, Candy uncharacteristically didn’t banter with Zero today.
Zero noticed this, finding it quite surprising.
"The day after tomorrow, I’ll come back after things wrap up here."
"Don’t bother hoping, I’m not here to have fun."
In the Booth C of another company’s exhibit area, Zero was laughing and fiddling with a small robot.
Seeing the others hesitating to speak, Zero put down the little toy.
Holding the small gifts from various company booths, Zero thought for a moment, then took a shortcut back.
Miscalculation! I should’ve brought a backpack to hold these gifts before heading out.
This way, I’d have something to account for when I go back to Candy in a couple of days.
About ten minutes later, Zero was back at her own exhibit area, standing outside and blinking.
"So many people."
Zero glanced around. She could squeeze in between the gaps of people’s legs, but her face might suffer attacks from their butts.
Seeing this, Zero promptly snagged a chair from a nearby exhibit area to get a better view.
After thinking for a while, Zero live-streamed the scenes she was seeing directly to the boss’s computer.
In the office, Mo Jingchun, practicing calligraphy, noticed the computer suddenly broadcasting video with sound, and put down his pen.
"So many people?" Mo Jingchun asked in surprise.
"Yep, boss. But judging from the data coming from White, most of these people are here for White’s free health check."
"That’s a good thing, everyone benefits anyway."
"Boss, I see there’s actually no need to bring etiquette girls; look, they’re all huddled in a corner now."
Switching angles, it was indeed as Zero said—six etiquette girls were crowded into a corner.
Looking at the screen, Mo Jingchun tapped the table and spoke to Zero:
"This can’t go on, it’ll be a big issue if a stampede happens. Find a way to pull the girls out. Set up an entrance and exit, control the crowd flow, and remind visitors to queue."
Seeing the packed crowd, Zero rolled her eyes, "Boss, I’m so short, how can I pull them out?"
"Stop stalling, get on with it. The sooner you notice the issue, the quicker it’s resolved."
"I strongly suspect you ditched them to have fun on your own."
"No way..."
Mo Jingchun chuckled coldly, "Do you think I’d believe that?"
"Alright, I promise I’ll handle it."
Watching Zero end the video stream abruptly, Mo Jingchun’s face turned dark.
At the convention center.
Sighing with frustration, Zero, who had been lounging, stood up reluctantly.
After contacting the organizers, more than a dozen security guards quickly arrived.
With outgoing only, in less than ten minutes, the crowd in the exhibit area wasn’t as dense.
Walking up to the etiquette girls, Zero gestured for them to follow.
"Everyone, come out with me."
"From now on, control the incoming crowd."
"Don’t bother with the fruits and drinks, seems like that’s not what they’re here for."
With Zero’s words, the six etiquette sisters nodded in agreement.
"It’s best this way, I reckon it’ll be much better by the afternoon."
Facing those who occasionally pointed their cameras at Zero, she kept a stoic face.
Honestly, don’t they know she’s also a person with an identity and has the right to her own image?
Enduring it for long, Zero finally couldn’t take it and started snapping pictures back at those people, her rapid flashes startling everyone.
Until a little after four in the afternoon, the crowd finally thinned.
Annoyed by the hassle, Zero simply hid underneath the counter meant for the etiquette girls.
And what do you know, her 1.2-meter height fit perfectly inside.
Hiding under the counter, immersed in gaming—it was pure bliss.
"Candy, meet me on the top lane!"
"On my way, on my way, just grabbing a red buff."
Sitting at her brother’s leather office desk, a lollipop in her mouth, Candy swiftly operated her phone.
Sitting on the sofa, having been "shooed" by Candy, Mo Jingchun could only sulkily drink tea from afar.
This little troublemaker, came back today claiming she was in a bad mood.
Made it seem like he was the one who bullied her.
And what happened? Occupied his comfy office chair, lounging there playing games with Zero!!!
After taking down the enemy’s ADC and jungler, Zero and Candy seized the opportunity to take the Baron.
With no suspense, they pushed straight down mid lane and destroyed the nexus.
"Haha, won again, this game has no difficulty at all."
At this moment, Mo Jingchun chuckled and interjected, "You say that, but I could call your sister over, you know."
"Please don’t!" Candy exclaimed, alarmed.
PS: Just curious, why does this cough not go away even when I feel better, feels like my lungs are about to come out.
