"So, we are no longer Novel Creators?" Isis asked as she looked at the father-daughter duo hugging it out.
Ash nodded at her, his expression calm and reassuring.
Creara spoke up, her voice soft yet clear as she stepped forward slightly.
"Everyone in the Ineffable Clan are now Tier 99 Beings at the... we’re just going to say at the complete existence level," she explained.
"The rank we are now in is called the True Self Rank.
For us, not much has changed — as... we really can’t be defined anymore. But for other beings, it’s them achieving true freedom away from any external means and having complete power in the most apex, simplistic way."
Basically, once someone reached the final rank—the very peak of all power—they would almost seem to return to their true selves and mortal forms.
Yet, the power they held was anything but ordinary or mortal.
Having complete freedom in themselves and their destined paths meant they didn’t need any flashiness or anything to amplify their strength.
All they needed was the will to act and make things happen.
Still, it was clearly far more complex than that beneath the surface.
Hearing this, Isis nodded, closing her eyes for a moment to see if she felt any difference. After a few seconds, she shook her head, muttering under her breath.
"Yeah... I really feel nothing different..."
Aurora laughed, sticking her tongue out playfully at her sister.
"Duh," she said. "It’s not for us. It’s for the future and those in Pantheos currently."
Ash nodded at this, standing up from his seated position.
Seeing him rise, the others tagged along as he began to walk through the blank void, his steps leaving faint ripples of potential in the emptiness.
"Rora is right... and this Taboo Realm will be the first realm toward simplicity and ultimate freedom," he explained as they walked.
"In the Eternal Lands, beings will have a taste of slipping from the power system — they will be able to create their own system branches and even have their own novels that they can find ways to benefit from. However, it will also be the place where they learn of the Dao."
Elysia chuckled softly from his side, her golden hair drifting as she shook her head.
"You really can’t get enough of those old novels, can you?" she said with a fond smile.
She then went on to explain knowing the others would be too lazy to simply retrieve the information.
"The Dao is basically ’The Way,’ and it’s different for all beings. It’s the personal path one takes to understand and master their own existence."
Ash looked at the little boy known as the Primordial Divide.
He bent down slightly, placing a hand on the boy’s shoulder as he spoke with calm authority.
"And you... you are the warden, the ruler, and the embodiment of this Taboo Realm," he said. "Your job is to ensure everything stays chaotic."
The boy nodded solemnly, his silver hair falling over his eyes as he accepted his role.
Ash then turned to the others — Elysia, Unara, Creara, and Aurora — his voice warm and encouraging as he looked at each of them.
"Have fun helping me create this place," he said.
"Add in mysterious ruins, murals, and all sorts of things that give hints toward the Dao. But remember. Keep it mundane... and primal, almost like Old Earth."
They all nodded in understanding, their expressions softening with shared purpose. One by one, they disappeared into the blank void to begin shaping the new realm.
Before Aurora could vanish, Ash gently caught her arm, pulling her back with a soft smile.
"We’re not done yet," he said, his voice low and intimate. "We have more to create together."
With that, Ash, Aurora, and the little boy disappeared.
They reappeared at what would become the center of the Taboo Realm. The space around them was still a vast, empty white void, waiting to be shaped.
----
Ash turned to Aurora, his reddish-purple eyes warm and intimate as he looked at her.
"What do you have in mind for his home?" he asked softly, his voice low and close.
Aurora smiled, her white and blue hair drifting gently as she stepped closer to him, their shoulders almost touching.
"I think the Ruler of the Taboo should live somewhere that feels both mysterious and grounded," she said, her voice soft and thoughtful.
"A place that reflects the realm itself — primal, simple, yet filled with hidden depth. Maybe... A tall mountain with an unseen peak... something that feels ancient and eternal, but not overly grand."
Ash smiled at her suggestions, his gaze lingering on her with quiet affection.
The way her eyes lit up as she spoke, the gentle excitement in her voice — it made the moment feel even more intimate, just the two of them shaping something new together like the good old days.
Seeing his smile, Aurora’s cheeks flushed slightly.
Hum! Hum! Hum!
Then she began to sing and hum softly, her power as the Goddess of Musical Creation flowing out naturally.
Her voice was melodic and enchanting, a gentle, wordless song that seemed to weave itself into the fabric of the void.
In that moment, dark black mist began to form, slowly encompassing a vast area around them, swirling and condensing as her music shaped the foundation of the mountain.
Seeing her go, Ash sat down cross-legged in the emptiness, summoning a beautiful Guqin in front of him.
Hum! Hum!
Then, his fingers gently touched the strings, and he began to play along with her.
The deep, resonant notes of the Guqin blended seamlessly with Aurora’s humming, creating a harmonious duet that filled the white void with warmth and emotion.
As they played, their musical auras mingled — a soft blue from Aurora intertwining with Ash’s reddish-purple.
The colors danced and merged in the air around them, growing brighter and more vibrant as their hearts began to sync.
At this moment.... their heartbeats fell into perfect rhythm, a shared pulse that made the moment feel even more intimate, as if their very existences were connected through the music.
It didn’t take long for Aurora to realize what Ash was up to—it was the same playful teasing she’d come to expect from him.
This time, though, he wasn’t just playing music; he was playing a melody that seemed to reach straight into her thoughts, stirring desires she couldn’t quite ignore.
Aurora’s cheeks grew more flushed, her breathing slightly quicker as the music exposed more of her deepest feelings.
She glanced at Ash with a soft, loving smile, her eyes half-lidded with emotion.
By the end of their duet, the mountain was complete.
It rose tall and majestic from the void, its base rugged and primal with ancient forests, winding rivers, and mist-covered valleys that felt like something from Old Earth.
Yet as it ascended, the mountain became increasingly fantastical — its slopes adorned with mysterious ruins and glowing murals that hinted at the Dao, its peak lost in an unseen haze that seemed to touch the peak of this realm.
The mountain stood as the most fantastical thing in this soon to be mundane and primal realm, a beacon of mystery and potential in a world designed to test the limits of simplicity and freedom.
At the very top stood a single, menacing throne — dark, imposing, and carved with subtle runes.
The throne was also a home; when the boy sat on it, with a single thought, he would be sent inside the mountain as the throne disappeared, becoming both ruler and guardian of the realm.
Aurora looked at the finished mountain with a satisfied smile.
She then turned to Ash, her voice soft and slightly breathless as she muttered,
"Daddy... are you going to make me wait again?"
When Ash looked at her, she was already tugging at her clothes, her cheeks flushed and her eyes filled with clear longing.
