"Are you not worried about what might happen to you two?" Finn asked. He had just finished cataloging the immense knowledge Mavis had transferred into his mind—the magical formulas for the Three Great Magics of Fairy Tail.

Frankly, he knew there was a fourth secret hidden beneath their guild. The ultimate secret. But considering the dark, cursed nature of the thing encased down there, Finn wanted absolutely nothing to do with it right now. It was a mess that would likely prompt Mavis to visit him again in the future.

He also fully understood how Mavis knew about his private affairs with Bisca and Lisanna. The First Master could monitor anyone who bore the Fairy Tail guild mark. Still, it didn’t bother him much. Despite her petite, childlike appearance—with her dainty feet, snow-pale skin, and floor-length pastel-blonde hair topped with a small ahoge—Mavis was a mature woman who had lived a complex life and even given birth to a son. She wasn’t exactly his type, anyway.

"What’s the worst that could happen?" Ultear replied, her tone remarkably casual. "Either you throw us back into a Magic Council prison, or you take an interest in us and use your penis to do all sorts of naughty things to us. Right?"

"P-Penis?! N-Naughty things?!" Meredy squeaked.

Her face instantly burned scarlet. She stared at Finn, utterly dumbfounded, and instinctively crossed her arms to shield her very generous chest.

Yet, as Meredy peeked at him through her eyelashes... she had to admit, he was incredibly handsome.

Earthland was a world where powerful mages often had chaotic love lives. Blue Pegasus was practically a guild dedicated to handsome men hoarding harems (with the glaring exception of Ichiya). So, it wasn’t exactly shocking that a man of Finn’s status and looks would attract women. And Meredy was no longer a child. The past seven years had blossomed her into a stunning young woman. Despite her shorter stature, she possessed a breathtaking figure and beautiful, long, wavy purple hair.

Still, even Meredy’s youthful allure couldn’t quite eclipse Ultear’s mature charm. Time hadn’t diminished Ultear’s beauty; it had refined it. With her long legs, voluptuous curves, and silky dark hair, she exuded a dangerous, sophisticated grace.

Finn pinched the bridge of his nose, silently rubbing his temples. He had to admit, both women were highly attractive, but he had zero intention of doing anything "naughty" to them—at least not today. "I didn’t know you had a sense of humor, Ultear."

"You’ve been living far too stiffly for the sake of your ambitions. Shouldn’t you take a moment to rest and appreciate the beauty right in front of you, Chief-sama?" Ultear’s voice was soft, carrying a gentle, almost maternal teasing tone.

"Shouldn’t I be the one saying that to you?" Finn countered smoothly. "Fighting the darkness in the shadows all the time... aren’t you tired?"

Ultear fell silent.

He had hit the nail right on the head. She offered him a bitter, knowing smile. In a way, they were exactly the same. They both sacrificed everything, ignoring the simple joys around them, entirely consumed by their ambitions.

Ultear had committed unspeakable atrocities in the past, all driven by a desperate, impossible desire to rewind time and reunite with her mother, Ur. When she finally realized that not even Zeref could grant her that miracle, she had nearly drowned in despair. It was Meredy who had pulled her from the brink of death. Now, Ultear lived only to redeem herself and to protect the girl she viewed as a daughter.

In fact, Ultear felt it was time to find someone reliable for Meredy. And looking at Finn, she couldn’t help but run the calculations.

Finn had no scandalous history of abandoning women. He was laser-focused on his work. A smart, powerful man was exactly what a girl like Meredy needed. Ultear could tell Meredy didn’t completely hate the idea, either. As for Mavis’s gossip about Bisca and Lisanna? Ultear didn’t care. Powerful men inevitably attracted multiple partners. She would rather Meredy share a truly strong man than end up with a weak one.

Ultear despised weak men. The tragedy of her own life had started because her father was too weak, abandoning Ur and leaving her to face a lifetime of misunderstandings and pain. The tragedies of Fairy Tail were often born from men who couldn’t protect their families, men who fled when the burden grew too heavy.

And Jellal? Ultear was honestly exhausted by his relentless martyr complex. Jellal’s heart was shackled to Erza, and he would likely stay a miserable, single fugitive for the rest of his life out of pure guilt.

Ultear wanted to rest. She wanted Meredy to have a solid foundation. And despite his ruthless reputation, Ultear’s own spy network had gathered enough intelligence on Finn to know his true character. If tragedy ever struck one of his women, Finn wouldn’t run. He would hold her hand, leverage his absolute authority, and brutally crush whatever threatened her.

However, out of all the reasons Ultear imagined Finn had cornered them today, she never could have anticipated his actual demand.

"Let me just get straight to the point," Finn said, his gaze locking sharply onto Ultear. "I want you to help me rebuild the Devil’s Heart."

Meredy and Ultear froze, staring at him in absolute shock.

Hearing that request, they finally understood exactly why this young man was capable of standing above the entire continent.
