Returning to the base, Ling Chen didn’t stop to rest and went straight to the main control room, ready to hand over the server to Hu Fei. However, upon arriving at the main control room, he found Hu Fei was not there, and no one knew his whereabouts.

"Where’s this guy gone?" Ling Chen muttered to himself, puzzled. Hu Fei almost never went out and stayed at the base all day. Moreover, his phone couldn’t be reached, an occurrence Ling Chen had never encountered before.

"You mean Fatty Hu?" Kaelina shook her head and said, "Haven’t seen him. Do you need him for something?"

"The people in the control room said he’s been missing for two or three days, with no contact, and they don’t know where he went."

"He might have been charmed by some beauty and is lying in the lap of luxury, unwilling to return to work."

Upon hearing Kaelina’s remark, Ling Chen couldn’t help but smile. It wouldn’t be surprising if Hu Fei, given his personality, was indeed enchanted by a beauty. However, the control room staff told him that Hu Fei had recently purchased a lot of items, indicating his disappearance is unrelated to a woman.

"What are you doing here?" Ling Chen asked, puzzled. This warehouse is meant for storage; why would anyone be here?

Walking into the warehouse, Ling Chen and Kaelina were instantly amazed by the setup inside. The goods were piled on either side, leaving a large vacant space in the middle, filled with various experimental equipment. Moreover, there were several researchers in white lab coats inside the warehouse.

With a quick glance, Ling Chen immediately recognized one researcher as Bai Zhangqiu, whom he had captured some time ago.

"Mr. Bai, why are you here?" Ling Chen stepped forward, curiously asked.

"Hello, Mr. Ling, nice to see you again." Bai Zhangqiu replied with a smile, "Didn’t you have someone find me, saying Netherworld Snake’s people might retaliate against me, so you brought me here?"

Upon hearing this, Ling Chen nodded. He had indeed asked Hu Fei to look for Bai Zhangqiu’s whereabouts some time ago. After a pause, he pointed at the surrounding equipment and asked, "Mr. Bai, what are you doing here?"

"Mr. Hu said he’s very interested in brain development experiments and wanted to try it himself. I initially wanted to refuse, but Mr. Hu insisted strongly, so I had no choice but to let him procure a batch of equipment to help him conduct this experiment."

"What?" Ling Chen was taken aback. No wonder Hu Fei has been missing for these past few days; he has been undergoing the experiment. This fatty... Ling Chen shook his head helplessly. "How is he now?"

"Everything is stable, no abnormalities. Although his physical condition isn’t great, he has absorbed the medication well. If nothing goes wrong, he should awaken in about two days."

Ling Chen nodded to himself; his primary concern was Hu Fei’s safety. This guy was really reckless, not even informing Ling Chen before sneakily undergoing the brain development experiment. "Mr. Bai, I’ll leave him in your care then. Whatever happens, ensure his safety."

Bai Zhangqiu replied, "Rest assured, Mr. Ling, there’ll be no problems."

Leaving the warehouse, Ling Chen gave Kaelina some instructions, telling her to keep an eye on Hu Fei’s situation and inform him immediately if there were any updates.

Returning to his room, Ling Chen gently pushed open the door to find Tang Shiyun lying on his bed, covered with a blanket, already deep in sleep. After being held by Zhu Hong for days and then working through the night, she must be utterly exhausted. Ling Chen didn’t disturb her and quietly lay beside her, sleeping in his clothes.

However, shortly after he lied down, Tang Shiyun suddenly opened her eyes, turned slowly, wrapping an arm around Ling Chen’s body, and snuggling her head into his arm.

Though his eyes were shut, Ling Chen could still sense Tang Shiyun’s movements. Smiling slightly, he realized the girl was as clingy as ever.
