The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress
Chapter 1237 - 1177: The Daughter Is Also MissingKevin didn’t want Claire to cry, so he covered her mouth, but unexpectedly covered her nose too. The child was too small and didn’t have the strength to struggle; her face was turning red. Fortunately, Alton discovered it early; a little longer and she might have suffocated.
Alton grabbed Claire, who wailed loudly. She was completely terrified.
Seeing the child cry, Alton was relieved. If something happened to this little one, he’d feel guilty for life.
Alton lamented his fate in his heart. He thought he was an honest man, yet he ended up as Kevin’s lackey, doing bad things, and almost accidentally harming the child this time.
"Alton, stop her crying, or someone will find out."
Kevin was worried the old man would find out, and if he did, he’d be in for a lecture.
"Kevin! Do you know you almost suffocated her just now?" Alton said harshly.
Kevin was taken aback, as Alton had never spoken to him in such a stern tone before.
Kevin defended himself, "I didn’t do it on purpose, besides, she’s still alive, right?"
Claire looked pitiable as she cried, her big eyes full of fear and helplessness. She couldn’t speak yet, but she kept looking around as if waiting for her parents to save her.
"Young Master, let’s return her. Look how pitiful she is." Alton’s heart softened at the sight of the crying child.
Isn’t this just asking for trouble?
"Boo hoo..."
Claire’s little body started to tremble as she cried, breaking everyone’s heart. Kevin hesitated, but the thought of being alone at home made him resolve, "No, I won’t return her!"
"..."
"Hey, stop crying, I’ll let you play with my toys. There are lots of tasty things at my house, all for you."
Kevin, seeing her inconsolable crying, lost patience and, while Alton was unguarded, injected Claire with a shot,
"Kevin, what are you doing?"
The sedative for adults was already injected. Claire immediately went limp and quieted down.
"There, now it’s quiet." Kevin smugly discarded the syringe.
Alton turned pale, knowing that dose was for adults, not a small baby...
Alton looked at the little one in his arms, realizing this mistake was grave.
"Kevin, how could you inject her with a sedative?"
"She just kept crying... I just wanted to quiet her down!" Kevin felt no remorse, "Let’s go, if we don’t leave, we’ll be caught and in trouble."
Alton shook his head, "Let’s go." Heading to find a doctor early for a check, hoping the baby would be okay.
...
Sienna Johnson went missing, and Adrian Desmond frantically searched the hotel; Sienna seemed to have vanished into thin air and was nowhere to be found.
The hotel surveillance footage showed no signs of Sienna leaving.
Adrian realized something was amiss.
No evidence of departure meant she must still be in the hotel. Adrian had people continue searching the hotel and also blocked potential escape routes down the mountain.
Curly dashed over, asking, "Dad, where are the twins?"
Only then did Adrian remember he left the twins up the mountain and asked Marion, "Where’s Sally?"
"Haven’t seen her at all."
"Call Sally!"
"Yes."
Marion was sweating with anxiety. Sienna Johnson’s disappearance was no small matter; he had heard that the last time Sienna disappeared, many people suffered.
Only that last time, Sienna left on her own; this time she was abducted.
"Sixth Master, we can’t reach her." Marion said.
"Go find Sally, bring the twins back, and you stay to take care of them." Adrian was focused on Sienna, not having time for the twins now.
He knew Sienna would not leave for no reason; someone must have taken her, and the prime suspect was Night Owl.
He had to act quickly, finding Sienna before Night Owl could take her out of Orienta. Otherwise, finding her again would be troublesome.
Standing in the hotel lobby, Adrian had a gut feeling Sienna was still in the hotel, just somewhere he couldn’t see. If he relaxed his vigilance, Night Owl might escape with her when he wasn’t looking.
Curly, with reddened eyes, dared not speak, feeling guilty. If not for her desire to attend a summer camp, her mom wouldn’t have disappeared.
George held Curly’s hand, finding it cold. He frowned, comforting her, "Don’t worry, your mom will be found."
Curly lowered her head, saying nothing.
"Sixth Master, we’ve searched everywhere. No trace." Brett Jacobs reported to Adrian.
Adrian was about to give orders to continue the search when Marion phoned.
"What is it?" Adrian asked, irritably.
"Sixth Master, there’s bad news, Claire is missing."
"What?"
"Sally is unconscious, and the stroller only has Hugo, Claire is gone."
Through the phone, Adrian could hear his son’s cries; Hugo must have been crying for a long time, his voice hoarse. Adrian was overwhelmed.
His wife was not yet found, and now his daughter was missing.
"How did Sally become unconscious?"
"I found a syringe in Sally’s hand, probably containing something to induce unconsciousness."
Adrian’s temples throbbed with pain. Night Owl abducting Sienna made sense, but why take Claire?
"Dad, are you okay?" Curly asked worriedly.
"Curly, head back to the room and take care of Sheehan, don’t run around, okay?"
With tears brimming, trying not to cry, Curly also burst into tears, "Dad, I’m sorry, it’s my fault. If I hadn’t wanted to come to the summer camp, mom and sister wouldn’t be missing."
George said, "It’s not your fault."
Adrian sent some people to find Claire. Hugo was brought back by Marion, who reached out for Adrian the moment he saw him.
"Boo hoo..." Hugo’s throat was hoarse from crying.
The son couldn’t speak, asking him was pointless. Adrian gently patted Hugo, unable to comfort him.
"Hugo, be good. Dad will find mom and sister."
Marion suddenly thought of Kevin, reminding Adrian, "Sixth Master, do you think Kevin might have taken Claire?"
"How’s that possible?"
"Sixth Master, let me go check." Marion suggested.
Having a lead was better than none, Adrian said, "Go ahead, take more people!"
