Chapter 1271 - 1268: Aren’t You Getting Married Today?Chapter 1271: Chapter 1268: Aren’t You Getting Married Today?
"Presumptuous. This is our Young Master, how dare you call him by name?" The dark-faced man beside him barked.
Ye Xiangxue let out a cold laugh, utterly fearless.
"Sorry, he’s only your Young Master. To me, that name means nothing." Ye Xiangxue spoke calmly, the hidden provocation in his words running deep.
"What I’m curious about is—aren’t you getting married today? How do you have time to grace my humble place?" Ye Xiangxue said, eyeing his outfit with amusement. Royal prince court attire, all decked out—damn, he really was stunning.
"Your humble place?!" Qi Longbing shot back coldly. Then a flash of contempt cut across his handsome, icy face as he sneered, "I had no idea Zi Yunsui’s house was harboring a man. Hmph. Don’t tell me you’re that man..."
As soon as he said that, Ye Xiangxue’s expression chilled in an instant, his fine-boned face narrowing those bright eyes to slits. Son of a bitch, he’s really asking to get his ass kicked.
"What the hell are you here for... Qi Longbing, this is not some place you can just stroll into." Ye Xiangxue lowered his voice, staring straight at that hateful face—he’d wanted to smash it in twice over for a long time.
"Don’t be ridiculous. I’ve got two legs—wherever I want to go, I go." Qi Longbing said, frosty as ice, staring him down without the slightest fear.
The moment the words left his mouth, Ye Xiangxue folded his arms across his chest, looking every inch the spoiled, vicious punk.
"So you’re here to pick a fight, huh? Fine, I’d love to see exactly how you plan on getting yourself abused." Ye Xiangxue threw it back at him, his gaze turning razor-sharp.
"Cut the crap and hand over our Young Madam, now!" someone beside him shouted harshly.
At that, Ye Xiangxue narrowed his eyes, shooting Qi Longbing a look loaded with meaning.
"Heh, you guys sure know how to look for someone. Don’t tell me your little chick ran off from the wedding?" Ye Xiangxue mocked, cold and biting.
Qi Longbing snorted coldly, then swept his gaze around, scanning the surroundings.
"Where’s Zi Yunsui? Call him out." Qi Longbing said, voice like ice.
Ye Xiangxue looked down his nose at him, all lazy swagger, utterly unafraid.
"He’s not going to see you. What, you suspect that chick came to find Zi Yunsui?" Ye Xiangxue guessed, and before Qi Longbing could answer, he added, with contempt, "Sorry to disappoint, but she hasn’t been here."
Qi Longbing stared at him coldly.
"Open the door. I’m going in to take a look." Qi Longbing’s face was set, his handsome features awash with anger and suspicion.
Ye Xiangxue grinned, baring his teeth. "Says who? You want to search, you need a warrant from the Taipei Bureau." Then he gave a faint smile. "You got one, Qi Longbing?"
Qi Longbing gave a cold laugh and pulled out his phone.
"You want a search warrant? Sure. Plenty of Tai Mansion officials are being very accommodating today. Even Chief Xiao is still waiting in Saint Mary’s Church. Want me to give him a call, have him personally bring you a search warrant?" Qi Longbing’s voice seeped through, low and sinister.
Ye Xiangxue’s fine-boned face suddenly darkened. Chief Xiao was the police commissioner; the police bureau and their own Taipei Bureau intel headquarters were colleagues, both working for the Tai Mansion—one in the light, one in the dark. It was better not to pull something that openly offended people. Exposing their identities too much would be extremely bad for future operations. His only option now was the worst one...
"Fine. I’ll let you in. But if you don’t find her, you get the hell out. Immediately." Ye Xiangxue snapped, his bright eyes flashing with an icy, thorn-like light.
"You little punk, what are you acting all cocky for! Let’s shut that filthy mouth of yours first..." A tall, burly man at Qi Longbing’s side exploded, charging forward. He drove a heavy punch straight at Ye Xiangxue’s face.
Ye Xiangxue had been on guard already. He stepped back, twisting his body to slip past the incoming fist, then seized the man’s arm and wrenched it. The bodyguard reacted quickly enough, spinning his body and bringing up his other arm to counter-grab Ye Xiangxue’s wrist—but Ye Xiangxue suddenly released that arm, and drove a fast punch straight at the man’s face.
"Bang~~" The man’s forehead took the full force of the blow. His eyes crossed for a moment as sparks flew; his vision swam and he staggered back three steps, barely managing to keep himself upright.
Another man saw this and let out a shout, launching a fast flying kick. Ye Xiangxue didn’t even think; his hand flew to his lower back, drawing a small, lightweight syringe-gun. Just as the kick was about to land, he spun like a shooting star, his left arm hooking around the raised leg, locking it tight, while his right hand pressed the syringe-gun to the man’s thigh and squeezed the trigger. Two steel needles shot in.
"Oh~~" The man let out a strangled, animal-like cry, then dropped to the floor in an instant, limp and motionless, completely out cold.
As the other two bodyguards were about to make their move—
"Stand down!!" A command that brooked no disobedience cracked through the air. The two men took one look at Qi Longbing’s face and backed up to stand beside him, not daring to act rashly again.
Ye Xiangxue chuckled twice under his breath, his gaze skimming lightly over to Qi Longbing.
"Your men are way too rough." Ye Xiangxue glanced at the man lying on the floor and said coolly, "I already agreed to let you in, and they still had to start something. That’s not on me. But relax, he’s just been sedated. He’ll wake up naturally in twelve hours."
"Hmph. Then hurry up and open the door and lead the way." Qi Longbing glared at him. This guy was clearly going to be a royal pain.
Ye Xiangxue pressed his lips together slightly, then headed inside on his own. He took out a key, slid it into the keyhole, and with a twist, the villa’s front door swung open. Ye Xiangxue pushed the door in. Right behind him came Qi Longbing and the other three bodyguards.
Inside, it was very quiet—basically no sound at all. Qi Longbing swept a cold gaze around, taking in the surroundings: Hong Kong-style minimalist layout, stylish decor, luxurious yet understated, exuding Wen Xin.
"You lot search the first floor thoroughly." Qi Longbing ordered. As he moved toward the stairs to the second floor, Ye Xiangxue suddenly stepped in front of him.
"What? Got someone hiding upstairs, and you’re scared we’ll see?" Qi Longbing said, mocking and indifferent.
Ye Xiangxue shot him a cold look.
"Letting you in is already me giving you plenty of face, Qi Longbing. Don’t push it. Upstairs is Zi Yunsui’s bedroom. No one goes in without permission." Ye Xiangxue replied sternly, his fine-boned face set in a strict host’s posture.
"Oh? His bedroom? And where is he—inside?" Qi Longbing said suspiciously, then taunted, "At a time like this, I doubt he’d be in there."
"Whether he’s inside or not is none of your damn business." Ye Xiangxue snapped. Zi Yunsui was still unconscious—there was no way he was going to let this pack of Wild Wolf go in there and disturb him.
Qi Longbing looked at him, patience wearing thin.
