Hell is empty and all the devils are here.
~ William Shakespeare, The Tempest

The sentry raised his rifle. Three figures appeared on his night-vision goggles, walking over at a casual pace.
The leader vanished from his spot in an instant.
"It’s a Supe!! Everyone on alert, initiate..."
He never finished the sentence.
Hillel’s figure flashed past him.
The speed was too fast for the naked eye to catch.
Bang!
A dull thud ripped through the night.
The sentry’s head, helmet and all, exploded in Hillel’s palm like a watermelon. Brain matter and blood sprayed across his face.
Hillel’s expression stayed cruel and cold, like a statue with no feelings.
He floated up, spun, and his cape whipped out like a steel blade, smashing the headless body into a pile of minced meat.
The alarm blared.
Every light on the island snapped on.
"Intruders! Intruders! Everyone take your positions!"
A voice roared over the walkie-talkie.
The rest of the mercenaries rushed in from every direction and opened fire on Hillel.
Bullets hammered him in a nonstop storm.
His body was like forged steel. The rounds just sparked off him as he drifted forward through the hail.
He stood there and let them unload everything they had.
He looked at the mercenaries.
"Do you know what you’re protecting?"
No one answered.
Mercenaries only care about the paycheck. They don’t give a shit whether they’re guarding criminals or civilians. Pay them enough and they’ll kill anyone.
"Then forget it."
Hillel disappeared.
The next second he was right in front of the closest mercenary.
He swung his hand down in a chop.
The blade cut from shoulder to hip. The man’s body split in half. Guts and blood spilled out, steaming from the friction heat before they even hit the ground.
Hillel licked the blood from the corner of his mouth.
The other mercenaries tried to back off and put distance between them.
Hillel picked one and stomped down hard.
The man’s chest caved in like a cardboard box. Ribs snapped. His spine punched out through his back. He got driven straight into the beach until only his arms and legs stuck out.
Hillel sprinted at sound-barrier speed, hands like blades, and carved through a dozen men in one pass.
A dozen heads flew into the air at once.
Blood fountained up and painted the sand red.
"Fire in the hole!"
The survivors chucked grenades at him.
Hillel blinked out, snatched every grenade out of the air, and crushed them all in his arms.
Boom!!
The blast and shrapnel swallowed him.
Not a single hair on his head got singed.
The rest of the mercenaries broke and ran.
Hillel hunted them down one by one. Hand chops took heads off. Bare hands crushed skulls. Kicks split men in half. He shoved his fingers into spines and ripped them apart.
A few he just met head-on at Mach 3. Their bodies turned to liquid the second he hit them, bursting into red mist.
One minute.
That was all it took for Hillel to wipe out all 120 mercenaries.
He had even slowed down on purpose, just to let them feel real terror before they died.
The beach was a slaughterhouse. Severed arms and legs, guts, crushed bone everywhere. The air stank of blood.
Hillel floated above the mess. Not a single drop had landed on his combat suit.
Homelander and Maeve stood frozen.
They had never seen The Guardian this brutal. He killed like it meant nothing and acted like they weren’t even there.
"Don’t say I didn’t give you a chance if I end up killing them all later."
Hillel drifted toward the villa.
He moved like a ghost. A ghost haunting Little Saint James Island.
Inside the villa.
The guards were no longer ordinary mercenaries, but supes.
Most of these were super soldiers created from Compound V leaked from the black market.
There were also superheroes under Vought.
And even members of the Flash Army.
They were hired by Alastair Adana at exorbitant prices, specifically to deal with supe-level threats.
It could be said that the standing defense of Little Saint James Island was even stronger than the national defense forces of some countries.
But they were not facing ordinary people.
Homelander, Maeve, The Guardian.
The six of them had already blocked the entrance to the underground when they received the alarm.
The leader was a two-meter-tall burly man, his body covered in metallic-textured skin.
Translucent’s former rival, Alloy Man.
A superhero who suddenly disappeared from the public eye, only to be hired by a financier to guard dirty deals.
The other five were also superheroes who were once very popular on the internet.
Whiplash, Forcefield, Flashpoint, Starfall, and Acid Man.
Any one of these people, if placed in a city, could secure hundreds of millions of dollars in stability contracts per year.
But in front of Hillel, they were all nothing but weaklings.
Alloy Man charged over first.
"The Guardian? Heh, you’re acting pretty high and mighty!"
He threw a punch at Hillel’s face.
Hillel didn’t even look.
He grabbed it casually, caught Alloy Man’s fist, and gave it a gentle twist.
The alloy arm deformed and twisted in Hillel’s palm like a pretzel.
Alloy Man immediately let out a scream.
Hillel thrust his other hand out, his palm piercing into Alloy Man’s abdomen, directly penetrating his metallic skin.
Then he ripped outward, slowly, tearing as he went.
Alloy Man was ripped in two from the middle, his flesh and internal organs flung thousands of meters away.
"I rarely do this, but you deserve to die."
Whiplash released an electric arc.
Tens of thousands of volts of electricity hit Hillel.
Stars flickered in the depths of Hillel’s eyes, and the Omega Beams zigzagged forward, piercing through Whiplash’s eyes and instantly roasting her brain into jelly.
As for those currents, they were like an itch when they hit his body.
The most brutal high-energy currents in the universe couldn’t hurt him in the slightest; could the bio-electricity of a supe be stronger than nature itself?
Whiplash’s eyes were hollow black holes, and she collapsed to the ground.
Forcefield immediately deployed a forcefield shield, protecting the remaining three.
"Hold on! You must hold on! As long as we wait for reinforcements..."
Homelander smashed down from the ceiling.
He punched through Forcefield’s field as easily as popping a soap bubble.
"My brother usually doesn’t kill people this gruesomely; you must have really done something terrible."
Homelander grabbed Forcefield by the neck and lifted him up.
"Homelander, do you know who is inside? You can’t afford to offend them, you fucking man chil—"
Before he could finish, Homelander’s expression turned gloomy.
"Really? Is there anyone I dare not offend? Let’s check for ourselves, shall we?"
He turned his head to look at Hillel, his fingers tightening slightly.
Crack!
Forcefield’s cervical spine snapped directly.
Forcefield’s head tilted to the side, his eyes bulged, and his body went limp like a sponge.
He had been squeezed into an invertebrate.
Homelander tossed him aside, and the corpse smashed through the wall.
Flashpoint wanted to run away.
Maeve had been camping him; she appeared in the speedster’s path and blocked him with her hand.
Flashpoint didn’t see it clearly, crashed into her arm, and fell to the ground.
Maeve raised her foot and stepped on Flashpoint’s knee, then looked at Hillel.
"After this is over, you must give me a reasonable explanation."
Crack!
Flashpoint’s leg was snapped in two by the Queen.
Before he could even howl, Hillel walked over and stomped his head to pieces.
