The Boys: Viltrumite Bloodline Panel

Chapter 95: Ashley’s Counterattack To Stormfront!

Propaganda is to a democracy what the bludgeon is to a totalitarian state.

~ Noam Chomsky

_____

Stormfront’s publicity campaign began silently.

Overnight, thousands of accounts appeared out of thin air on the internet.

Like a tidal wave, they began posting radical discussions, such as:

"Homelander is the true hero! He has protected us for decades!"

"What is The Guardian? By what right does he steal Homelander’s spotlight?"

"Exactly, The Guardian is just an outsider who appeared out of nowhere."

"We want a pure, homegrown America hero!"

Besides comments, there were all sorts of meticulously edited short videos.

It was obvious that a lot of money had been spent on promotion.

In the videos, Homelander’s blond hair fluttered as he flew under the sun, accompanied by intense, beat-synced background music and various voiceovers.

[He is the one who has protected this land for decades!]

It would have been one thing if the videos just praised Homelander, but they would always inadvertently flash Hillel’s face, deliberately using dark filters and subtle subtitles.

They were trying to incite xenophobia among the locals.

[Do we really know these people? They are the ones stealing the opportunities for the people of America to achieve their dreams!]

It was loaded with barbs, deliberately stoking conflict.

Stormfront was smart; besides attacking The Guardian directly, she also used lingering immigration issues to smear Hillel.

She believed that a blond, top-tier white man like Homelander was the only one who should be put on a pedestal.

"It’s a shame, I actually have quite similar taste to her, if only this person didn’t discriminate against Poles." Hillel lay on the bed, watching those videos.

Maeve was also lying next to him under the covers, sucking on a lollipop.

She had been trying to quit smoking recently.

"Why would Vought push Stormfront to the forefront at a time like this? Edgar doesn’t seem like an idiot." The Queen always spoke bluntly.

"Indeed, but some capital is truly like a pig sitting on a strong wind... Do you think it’s possible that this is a case of using someone else’s blade to kill?" Hillel suddenly realized.

"What do you mean, using someone else’s blade?" Maeve looked confused.

"Oh, if that’s the case, then it makes sense. Forget it, never mind, let’s continue!" Hillel shook his head and hugged Maeve again.

"Hey, that’s enough. Annie will be back with the stuff soon, don’t be so impatient." Maeve feigned resistance, but in reality, she leaned in proactively.

...

Elsewhere.

Homelander was standing in front of the mirror, admiring his perfect blond hair.

He looked at the face in the mirror and felt more and more that he could also imitate Hillel and put on a savior performance.

Just then, Ashley came to report on work.

She was holding a tablet, her palms sweating.

"Sir... there is something I must show you."

She handed over the tablet and played a video.

The video was shot by a passerby; the quality wasn’t blurry, it was actually very clear.

Homelander descended from the sky, and not far away were thugs holding hostages; he used his Heat Vision to cut right through them.

But because he didn’t control the penetrating power, he ended up slicing open the stomach of a civilian behind them.

The camera started shaking violently, accompanied by screams.

This was a rescue operation Homelander had carried out recently on his own initiative, instigated by Stormfront, without notifying PR.

Homelander watched the footage, and his temper immediately flared up.

"These people can’t even afford to eat, yet they have money to buy phones, and the recording quality is this high?"

Ashley’s temples throbbed.

She took a deep breath, as if Homelander’s actions had ruined a perfectly good celebratory cake.

"Sir, you can’t keep doing this. You can’t just do whatever you want..."

"I do whatever I want." Homelander abruptly interrupted her, his eyes instantly turning cold.

"I am Homelander!"

"I am the most powerful existence on this planet, who has the qualifications to control me!"

"How dare you speak to me like that?"

As soon as he finished speaking, Homelander froze himself.

In his mind, Wonder Man appeared, unleashing a Getsuga Tensho.

[I am the strongest, I can do whatever the fuck I want, no one can stop me!!!]

Every word, every pause, was exactly the same as what he had just said.

A chill shot up Homelander’s spine.

No, this is a bit sinister!

Did he accurately predict even what he would say?

While terrified, Homelander was also a little excited.

If they weren’t true brothers, how could he understand him so well?

"Enough." Stormfront appeared out of nowhere, interrupting their conversation.

"Homelander is the most powerful supe on Earth."

"Whatever he wants to do is a gift from God; it is his right!"

She glanced down at Ashley condescendingly.

"As for you... you don’t need to come to work tomorrow. We don’t need a puppet who only knows how to point fingers and doesn’t listen!"

Ashley’s mind went blank.

She stared at Stormfront, and what surged up wasn’t fear, but anger.

No, who the hell do you think you are!

I’m only afraid of Homelander, not you!

Who do you think you are!

A newly appointed superhero, and you dare to talk to her like that, and unilaterally fire her?

Ask A-Train if he dares to talk to her like that?

"You don’t have the right to fire me." Ashley said, scared yet angry.

"If you want to fire me, you have to talk to The Guardian."

"You dare to blow cold wind behind Homelander’s back; if you have the guts, go say it to The Guardian’s face."

"See if he doesn’t tear you in half."

"Do you dare? Bitch!"

"I am The Guardian’s person; in all of Vought, even Mr. Edgar has to treat me with some respect!"

"You? Who do you think you are!"

Ashley vented all her work-related resentment as well.

She had been working overtime through the night, dealing with the mess Homelander created; she already had plenty of resentment.

For the first time, Stormfront’s smile froze on her face.

A regular person dared to stand up to her?

Back in the last century, this person would have been out of the industry long ago.

Ashley ignored her completely and handed the tablet to Homelander.

"Sir, you can’t listen to this woman anymore."

"You and The Guardian are now the twin stars of Vought, like close brothers!"

"The public’s support for you has been rising all the way."

"But those short videos have no positive guidance for your image; they are all negative."

"Your fan base is cutting ties; many young people, middle-aged and elderly people, and a large number of white groups, and even minority groups, are unfollowing you and running to The Guardian’s forum to scold you!"

"This PR stance is unacceptable; you are being molded into a xenophobic, racist Nazi!"

"If this continues, I’m afraid even The Guardian will be forced to cut ties with you!"

Ashley seemed to see through Stormfront and added, "This woman is destroying the brotherhood between you and The Guardian. Do you really want to break with The Guardian?"

In reality, Ashley was almost peeing her pants halfway through speaking.

In all of Vought, aside from The Guardian, no one dared to stand up to Homelander.

Yet she had just done it.

Ashley could even feel a warmth; she was almost incontinent.

Purely from fear.

She didn’t know where she got the courage; maybe it was The Guardian’s appreciation.

Since The Guardian came to Vought, her work had been smoother, and she was even supported step by step to the position of Vought CEO.

Ashley was timid, fearful, and a legendary pressure-resistant queen, but every time she could deliver a god-tier assist to the main character group at critical moments.

At this moment, it was her kind personality that guided her actions.
