Chapter 304: Chapter 304 - Again I (R)
The kiss got slower first, then deeper, and Roxie forgot why she had planned to pull away. She was half on top of Zac now, one knee pressed into the mattress between his legs and one thigh hooked over his hip.
He was on his back beneath her, shirtless and warm, the blanket twisted low around both of them. His sweatpants brushed rough against her bare thigh where her soft shorts had ridden up.
His hand slid under the loose hem of her sleep shirt.
Warm.
Slow.
Roxie’s breath caught against his mouth, and Zac paused right away.
"Too much?"
She shook her head, then pressed her mouth back to his. "No."
That was all he needed.
His palm moved over her stomach, careful but hungry now, like he was trying to touch her gently and still losing patience with himself. His mouth left hers and moved to her shoulder, kissing across the bare skin there before his tongue dragged up the side of her neck.
"Zac..."
His lips found the same spot again, biting softly, and her fingers tightened in his hair.
Then she felt how hard he already was against her thigh. Roxie broke the kiss and looked down. The front of his sweatpants pushed tight against her leg, thick and obvious through the fabric.
She stared at it then she looked back at him. "Seriously?"
Zac looked embarrassed for half a second. "I can’t help it."
"After tonight?"
"I know. I don’t have an excuse."
"Your body learned absolutely nothing."
"Yours is judging me like it learned something."
Her face burned because he was right. She was exhausted. She was still sore. She was still scared. Her body still pressed closer when his hand moved under her shirt.
"We literally drove to another town because of this," she said.
"That was because I came inside you."
The room went quiet.
The words should have killed everything.
Instead, they moved through Roxie’s body in the worst possible way. Fear first. Then heat right behind it.
That had happened. He had been inside her. Only the tip, but enough to make both of them shake in a pharmacy parking lot. Enough to make her swallow a pill with trembling hands. Enough to make Zac look like he wanted to crawl out of his own skin.
And yet his mouth was on her neck, his hand was under her shirt, and she still wanted him so badly it made her angry.
Zac saw her face change. "I won’t put it in," he said, voice rough and serious. "I swear."
Roxie blushed harder and slapped his shoulder lightly. "Zac."
"I mean it."
"I know."
His eyes stayed on hers, dark and careful under all that want. "I haven’t tasted you tonight."
Roxie stared at him.
Her thighs pressed together before she could stop them.
Zac noticed.
His mouth parted slightly, and the look on his face made the ache between her legs sharpen.
She hated this. Hated that she could still be scared and still want his mouth. Hated that the promise made it worse because now both of them were thinking about the one thing he had sworn he would avoid.
"I’m still sore," she whispered.
"Then I’ll be careful."
His answer came too fast, too sure, too much like Zac.
Roxie sat up on his lap before she could talk herself out of it. Zac stayed under her, breathing heavier, hands on her waist but waiting while she pulled the sleep shirt over her head.
The fabric landed near the pillows.
Zac looked at her breasts, then forced his eyes back up like he was trying to behave and failing by inches.
Roxie laughed softly. "You’re terrible at pretending."
"I’m trying." Zac chuckled. "And losing happily."
The laugh helped. It made the fear loosen enough for her to move again.
Zac sat up and pulled her closer until she was fully straddling him, her knees on either side of his hips. His sweatpants were still on, the hard ridge of him trapped between her thighs, and that tiny bit of fabric felt like the only responsible thing left in the room.
Then his mouth closed over her nipple.
Roxie’s hands flew to the headboard behind him.
"Zac..."
He sucked slowly at first, then harder when her hips shifted against him. His tongue moved over the tight peak, warm and wet, and his hands slid down to her waist, then lower to the waistband of her shorts.
He looked up. "Can I?"
Roxie nodded.
His eyes stayed on hers.
"Yes," she said.
He helped her lift, but the position made it awkward. One side of the shorts caught under her knee, and Zac had to tug twice while Roxie held on to his shoulder.
She huffed. "Stop laughing."
"I’m helping."
"You’re making it worse."
"You trapped the shorts under your leg."
"Because you pulled me on top of you."
"I stand by that. I like you on top of me"
She kicked one leg free, then the other, and the shorts disappeared somewhere under the blanket. "I’ll keep that in mind." She grinned.
Now she was naked on him, and he was still in sweatpants.
Roxie looked down between them and swallowed.
Fabric. Barrier. Safe enough.
Except Zac was looking at her like he wanted to eat her alive.
"Come here," he muttered, his voice got deeper.
"I’m already here."
"Higher."
Her face went hot. "Zac."
His hands tightened on her thighs. "On my mouth."
The words went straight through her.
"Zac."
"Please."
That broke the rest of her hesitation.
He shifted lower against the pillows while she moved up his body, still facing him at first. His head was close to the wall behind the bed, and Roxie knelt over him with one knee beside his shoulder, then the other. She gripped the headboard above him and lowered herself until she felt his breath.
Her stomach clenched.
"This is embarrassing," she whispered.
His mouth brushed her inner thigh. "You were on top of me earlier."
"That is exactly why you should be quiet."
His answering smile touched her skin.
Then his tongue dragged over her.
Roxie’s breath caught hard. The stroke was slow and flat, careful over the sore, swollen ache left from earlier. Her arms tensed, her head dropped forward, and her forehead bumped the wall with a dull little thud.
Zac stopped.
For one second, there was only silence.
Then she looked down and saw him grinning between her thighs.
Roxie’s face burned. "Shut up."
"I didn’t say anything."
"Your face did."
His grin widened.
She tried to move away, but his hands held her thighs gently. "Turn around."
"Why?"
"So you stop attacking the wall."
"I hate you."
"No, you don’t."
She shifted carefully, climbing off just enough to turn. Zac stayed flat on his back, head near the pillows, body stretched toward the foot of the bed. She turned until she faced the foot of the bed, then lowered herself over his mouth again, one knee beside each shoulder. This time her hands braced on his chest.
It gave her a clear view down his body.
Zac started again before she could overthink.
